  1. Both bbp titles and mwp titles, I am sure they will all place in their respective pageants semis and possible runner ups and winners. But for Mutya ng Pilipinas titles i think 2 of them will place. runner up or winner.
Rachel – Runner up (2nd is okay, ist time natin yan) or top 10
    Mariel- runner up or semis
Chanel – Winner or runner up
Katarina – winner or runner up
Clenci – winner or runner up
Nelda – runner up or semis

    Sa MWP
Laura – Gusto ko talaga sya manalo but i think. she will be a runner up or a princess.
    Wynwyn – runner up
Cynthia – winner or runner up
    Seronon – semis.

  3. Rachel: Top 10 or runner up
    Clenci: Winner or runner up
    Mariel: Semis or runner up
    Katarina: Winner or runner up
    Laura: Semis
    Nelda: Semis
    Karen: Semis or runner up
Wyn Wyn: Semis or runner up

  4. We have an outstanding set of candidates this year. I hope all of them will win, but that is wishful thinking. Most of them will be runners-up. If some very deserving ones will be made runners-up, they will be “working runners-up”, just like Nicole Cordoves of last year’s MGI. Pageant politics and economics will not make a grand slam possible, neither is a b2b win. Pageantry after all is a global business that needs to survive. And its business revolves around selecting a spokesperson based on beauty, a touchy issue as the concept is cultural and not universal.

The differential advantage of the Philippines over all other countries, is having hordes of pageant freaks scattered worldwide that are glued to the social media everyday. Filipinos are the world’s top social media users, as the Philippines is the undisputed texting capital of the world. This is a marketing fact that every global pageantry business cannot simply ignore. This is just the demand side. The supply side is the emergence of “beauty camps” that produce holistic beauties– beautiful physique, beautiful minds, beautiful social demeanour– from the literal goldmine of beautiful women across the archipelago. This is a supply fact that every global pageantry business acknowledges. As long as the Philippines will continue to dominate the demand and supply of pageantry “fodder”, I think we will always be the world’s “beauty powerhouse”.

To all Philippine representatives, you are all winners. You continue to raise the bar of global beauty pageants. You shifted the world’s beauty paradigm from the limited physical dimension to the more integral concept that encompasses intelligence, character and social compassion.

To all Filipino pageant freaks, the world may be amused at how seriously we take beauty contests, but let them be. They do not know how pageantry is deeply rooted in our culture and history. So long as global pageantry organisations take us seriously, we will continue to be global pageantry’s marketing base.

  5. There’s always a good feeling whenever a Filipina enters the semifinals; prouder when she places a runner-up, and joy once crowned. No doubt these Filipinas are exceptional but beauty crosses borders, it’s everywhere – every nation has it. What we can do is to support our representatives without bashing others. If one (or more) ended victorious, a moment to celebrate. If not (non-placement), still a job well done.

  6. I HOPE MAGKAPLACE SILANG LAHAT. PERO MAS EXCITED AKO SA KUNG SINO SA KANILA ANG MABIABIANCA GUIDOTTI NA BUKOD TANGING WALANG PLACEMENT NONG BATCH NILA, SI BIANCA NA PABORITO NG BLOGGER NA BUONG NINGNING NA PRENIDECT NA MAY I WIN DAW SA MISS INTERNATIONAL AT BACK TO BACK VICTORY DAW SILA NI BEA, AT WALANG KAGATOL GATOL NA PINAHAYAG NG BLOGGER NA SURE WIN ANG BIANCA DEBIGOTI NYA NA WALA NAMANG IBANG INATUPAG SA JAPAN KUNDI MAKIPAGLANDIAN SA BOYFRIEND NYA NA SA HALIP MAGCONCENTRATE SA PAGEANT E YONG PAGSELFIE NG PAGSELFIE ANG INAATUPAG NYA AT UPLOAD NG UPLOAD SA FB AT INSTAGRAM NYA. AYON TULOY, NI HINDI MAN LANG TINAWAG SA TOP 15, KAHIHIYAN LANG BINIGAY SA BANSA!

    • Someone clearly forgot to take her medication today bwahahaaaaaaaaaaa!! All this screaming over something that occurred over two years ago is hilarious and pathetic.

      • REALLY SAMANTHA DE PUTA NG INA? HILARIOUS BA, E DI MAGTATAWA KA NG MAGHTATAWA DYAN HANGANG MATAE HILARIOUS PALA? AT PATHETI BA KAMO, E BAT MO PINATULAN? SO IBIG SABIHIN MAS PATHETIC KA MAS SIRA ULO AT MAS BUGOK KA BWA HAK HAK HAK HAK HAK….TAGAL NA NG POST NITO, HINABOL MO BA.

  7. basta ako winner silang lahat!

    miss universe 2017 si rachel!
    miss world si laura!
miss international top 5 si mariel! (only bec. philippines ang reigning mi!)
miss earth top 8 si karen!
    miss supranational si chanel!
    miss grand si clenci!
    miss intercon si katja!
    reina hispanoamericana si wynwyn!

  8. Chanel and Clenci will win. MiC will pick India or Sri as Continental queen again.
    Laura -princess
Rachel-she have the best body but not the face that can launch a thousand ships
    Earth- elemental crown
MI- Japanese are infamous for not awarding b2b

  9. As for rachel, she already has the goods, her vava-voom body, height, eloquence and even her pinay beauty. She would place very high, if styling and make-up are always on point, and probably her aura, hunger for the crown and personality, gaining her momentum up to the coronation night. Haysss. Kaka-sad naman talaga.
Laura has the goods to offer and clinch our 2nd MW crown, she is hungry for that crown, but with the shenanigans last year, ewan, super unpredictable ni mama hulya. Baka mag-place tayo higher than our kapitbahay since posible na tayo ang maghohost in 2019. Or ang mga kapitbahay muna ang mag win-streak since mas posible na sila ang host country this 2018. Beke nemen, ang china ang magwinsung since china ang host this year. Hoping for a fair and square fight for laura.
A b2b win for MI is still very elusive but a 1st runner up finish isnt bad at all. Mariel’s recent ohotos shows progress on how she handles and carry herself, nagtone down na sa body si maria, and it is a good sign. Her demeanor, and sweetness may capture the japanese org’s nod. Wag lang makoronahan ang kapitbahay. Hahaha. Ittrain din kaya ng kabilang kampo ang kandidata ng kapitbahay, just like last year?
She has the body and wit, tamang styling at make-up, again make-up, ang kelangan ni mama karen para maging elemental queen.
Sana umaura ng todo si katja once she steps a foot on naia. Wag lang mabilinng sri lanka ang placement nila, tulad last year. Kalokah.
Chanel has the personality, attitude and sunshine na hinahanap ng supra, makuda din si ate, sexy vixen din kumbaga, pero i want her to sport a diff hairstyle, wag lang puro straight, same din kay elizabeth. Why not style chanel ala-old hollywood glamour at si elizabeth din a sexy latina, since mahilig din si nawat sa mga latina beauty.
Ano ba talaga ang hinahanap ng globe? Ann won dahil super stand out sya during her time pero ewan ko sa last year. Sana mahanap ng kampo ni nelda ang tamang formula for her to clinch the crown, bahala na kung 1st runner up basta desrving din naman talaga yung winner.
Wyn-wyn, thomalla and sophia are equally beautiful, wyn is very pinay and latina-ish while cynthia is very eurasian, si sophia naman very elegant kahit 17 y/o pa lang. since bago pa naman sa akin tong reinahispanoamerica, ecointernational at multinational, pwede naman mag experiment muna hanggang sa mahanap ang winning firmula ng pageant na to.
Bongga kung lahat ng queens natin eh winners, 1st runner ups, at pasok sa top 5, wag na wag ma agaw ng kapit bahay na sila ang powerhouse beauty of asia or number 1 in asia kundi ipapakain ko sa knila mga corona at placements natin. Mga bruha sila

  10. si ms. philippines earth. sya pinaka maganda, sexy at matalino sa lhat ng lalaban sa patimpalak pagandahan. ska pilipinas ang host ng ms earth. all the other candidates are losing steam when stand side by side with karen.

  11. Sorry mga girls pero based kay Gurmeet psychic forecast niya di Winwyn mananalo.. kaming from southwest bodies of water daw related to 7 stars in their political history.. baka si Beneswela or Ecuador

  12. Sophia Senoron (Miss Multinational Philippines 2017) will also be competing in December, in India, dear Norman…

  13. Most likely to win the crown:
    1. Karen (this girl can talk, give her the mic and she could talk intelligently, her intelligence can make up for her non-conventional beauty, Ms. Earth has a habit of choosing Philippines as the winner whether it’s home court or not.)
    2. Liz (runner up placements last year, be a combination of Parul and Nicole. Give a pleasant answer to judges and you’ll win the crown)
    3. Winwyn (First time’s the charm, she might win the crown just do your best)
    4. Katarina (With her charity work, advocacy, and social media she could win it)

Most likely to win a runner up placement:
    1. Nelda (Phils. already won a crown in the last decade but has a strong chance of making it till the end)
    2. Laura (Same verdict as Nelda, although since it’s a new franchise she has a high chance of being a Princess, 20-30% chance of winning the crown)
    3. Chanel (Same verdict as Nelda, great personality, power runway skills)

    Semi-finals:
    1. Mariel (5% chance of winning back to back, needs to show the most effort out of all the contestants)
    2. Rachel (Pia already won 2 years ago, and with Philippines declining to host the Pageant this year it may lessen her chances. Paula can be cold to our country although we don’t know if the 2018 will still push here so she can use that to her advantage)

    • Karen winning ME ? It’s the last nail the MEO is waiting for its coffin to seal forever. No matter how deserving she is , let us give it to another girl. After all, it’s a beauty contest and there are tens of candidates who are way more gorgeous than she is .. pagbaliktarin man ang Mundo.
They sacrificed Seifert in. 2009 and it was painful knowing she deserved the crown . The sentiment won’t be the same for Karen, promise. , hihihi

  14. Nelda Ibe is quite the most composed titlist this year. Napaka beauty queen ang arrive ni ate. Napaka traditional nya as a beauty queen.

Parang nakakawalang ganang panoorin. Yan yung pageant na di mo alam panu sila nakaka come out ng winner.

Magpakaipokrita muna sya don para maka back to back. Lara, Bea ,and Kylie lahat sila mukhang ipokrita at bait baitan ang peg. Nanalo teh. Smart and wise.

Eg Janine, Gwen, Stephany.

  15. The Mutya reps’ battles are worthy of some mention, too. As in any war, it is unwise to sustain ammunition on the front line. The enemy may actually be nipping at our heels, attacking from behind. We must endeavor IN ALL DIRECTIONS – front, back, sides. Our sash is always at stake. Our banner must NEVER touch the ground.

    • Agree .any win is a win regardless.
However, u have to win or do great at MU to stay relevant in the pageant world.
The rest is just a consolation prize. If we win in the other pageants, great . If we lose, it’s ok because we did great at MU.

  16. We all have to accept the fact that beauty contest is always judged subjectively. There is no universal (or international or worldwide or global or whatever) concept, beauty being culturally defined. Every annual search is dependent on the judges’ concept of what constitutes beauty– physical, cerebral, community involvement, attitudinal… The winner may not be “the most beautiful” to some, but it is always the best possible choice the judges can arrive at. Politics and economics definitely play a part in the choice, but we have to remember that beauty pageantry is a global business. To survive, it needs a diverse yearly set of spokespersons that global corporate sponsors and institutional supporters will identify with. Yes, the hordes of Filipino pageant freaks is a huge market that pageant organisations love to present to corporate and institutional sponsors as their loyal followers. That is why, every global pageantry business tries to get their contest within the radar of this huge market. But no matter how outstanding we feel our representative is, B2B wins or wins after 2-year intervals cannot happen. Simply, the Philippines is not the only country in the world, and we cannot impose our concept of beauty to the world. Simply, too, it is not a wise business decision for the pageantry organisation to have a winner from the same country every so often.

Having said these, yes, we have an outstanding set of representatives this year. How I wish they will all win. My hunch is that some will get their respective crowns, the rest may be given runner-up placements to appease the Filipino fans scattered worldwide.

My personal hope is for Laura, WynWyn, Nelda and Olive to win.

    • Deserving bur a very risky choice for the Filipino pageant organisers are Karen and Ilene. If they get runner-up placements, I’m sure they will be “working runners-up”, as they can provide strong support to whoever is declared winner.

      • Scorg, do not forget Venezuela which has been dominating the pageant world for more than 35 yrs.
We just started 7 yrs ago.
Whether our candidates deserve the placement or not , let us hope that the trend stays on forever. I do not want to go back to the yrs when we hoped and prayed and came home crying .

      • Fabian, the differential advantage of the Philippines over Venezuela, and over all other countries, is having hordes of pageant freaks scattered worldwide that are glued to the social media everyday. Filipinos are the world’s top social media users, as the Philippines is the undisputed texting capital of the world. This is a marketing fact that every pageantry business cannot simply ignore. This is just the demand side. The supply side is the emergence of “beauty camps” that produce integral beauties– beautiful physique, beautiful minds, beautiful social demeanour– from the literal goldmine of beautiful women across the archipelago. As long as the Philippines will continue to dominate the demand and supply of pageantry “fodder”, I think we will always be the world’s “beauty powerhouse”.

Charity. Haha

      • Jorsel, graduate ka ba ng Ateneo HS and UP? If not , Hindi ka qualified to be my soulmate . Tse hihihi

  17. We are going to have another glorious year.
    Laura will win MW 2017
Clenci can win MGI if she looks pleasant on coronation night . On her bad days , she is a cross b/w Jaya and Parul. Hope they find a way to soften her face.
Chanel will win Supra unless na-politics.
Peters will be a top 3 contender. She will need the right facial make up and hair and a beautiful gown .
Ibe can win MGlobe . She has pretty face … with make up on and her attitude is commendable.
Katarina’s energy is her strong point . If she loses weight, she. Oils win MIntrcon
Mariel is the last because of history . She is from a showbiz family with 2 gorgeous parents …so she is a winner …win or lose at MI

  18. Greatest chance of winning:

    1. Grand International
    2. Hispano-America
    3. Supranational
    4. Intercontinental
    5. Miss World

  19. FYI, preliminaries to be held either Sunday or Monday (before Thanksgiving). Venue for preliminaries to be confirmed.

    Scoop!!!

  20. for history-making, my bets are Katarina, Elizabeth and last but not the least, Mariel (there has never been a back-to-back in MI). They all deserve to win

for revenge, my bet is Laura (last year, Catriona was the winner, period)

for satisfaction, my bet is Rachel landing in top 3 at least; Chanel landing in top 3; Nelda landing in top 3; WynWyn landing in top 3; Cynthia landing in top 3; Karen landing in top 4

for keeping the trend, my hope is all the rest will land in semifinals at least
