  1. Ano ba yan.

    • If the titles are awarded according to the overall ranking of the candidates, does that mean Rivendell Gandalf Lao is the 3rd placer or so and yet he now doesn’t have a title to reward his performance due to apparent lack of discernment and discretion on the part of the organizers? What about the Mister Grand International Philippines title of Manny Quintos which is also reportedly under fire for the same reason?

Tito Norman, I hope you will already speak up regarding these controversies seriously rocking your pet project.

    • Upon close scrutiny, 2 finalists in the Top 10 didn’t get any award: Kristian Sarmiento and John David Berganio. Which leads to a BIG mystery – why was the major title Mister Tourism World Philippines 2017 awarded to Angelo Adarlo who was not even included in the Top 16? Granted that he won as Mister Hannah’s Eco-Tourism during the Preliminaries, isn’t it proper that all the major titles up for grabs be given to the finalists at the very least? What qualified him for the title anyway? What’s your take on this, Tito Norman?

      • At tsaka Mars, nalokah ako sa isang girl ba yon or becky, nung Q&A portion na wala bang patungan na lamesita man lang (or podium ba tawag sa ganern heheh), kesa akyat baba siya sa stage para iabot ang fish bowl sa mga Contestants pag pipili ng magtatanong sa kanila. Lapit lang ng Ace Hardware charrette hihihi

    • Even more puzzling is that Angelo Adarlo is not even an official candidate of Gentlemen of the Philippines 2017. Is this a concession given to Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center being the official presentor and venue of the preliminaries?

      • I stand corrected – Angelo Adarlo won as Mr. Hannah’s Ecotourism Philippines 2017 last May yet and not during the Gentlemen of the Philippines 2017 preliminaries. So why was he awarded with a major title during the finale without even competing as an official candidate? I just find that highly irregular and unfair to the candidates.

      • bong700,

di nya maiintindihan yang sinasabi mo kasi English, pati pag gamit ng Keypad eh di marunong? ang gamit kasi is hindi computer, Hanggang celphone lang sya…. eh kapag may load sya?

Pati tawa nya mali pa spelling!!!!

      • OH NO BONGOK700 I’M ALL REFERRING TO YOU HAK HAK HAK PUTA KASI ANG INA MO AT MASKI SINO SINONG LALAKI NA LANG KUMAKANTOT HAK HAK HAK HAK!

    • I have to say that Laura Lehman’s gown was one of the best gowns I have ever seen worn in the local pageant. It was chic, elegant and very modern. And the color just popped with her light skin tone.

      1. Kung geographic location and usapan eh di dapat kasama ang Spain.

      2. Kung length of previous colonization ang usapan, mas matagal and mga Portuguese sa Brazil at mga Pranses sa Haiti.

      3. Kung Spanish as native language and usapan eh di dapat kasali and Brazil dahil Portuguese ang native language nila second ang French and ilan Lang and nakakasalita ng Espanol.

      4. Kung 1-2-3 and basehan, di hamak na pasok naman talaga and Pinas dahil 333 years under colonial rule of Spain and almost 20 percent din ng mga words natin galing sa Espanol or localized (e.g. como esta? Localized as kumusta?)

      5. Which boils down Kung ano ang mission statement nung pageant para ma check Kung kayang i-deliver nung rep natin.

      8. I like the neutral accent of host. Ganun ba ang Bolivian spanish? Yung and accent na gusto ko i-adapt.

      Conclusion:

      May mga takot na!

    • Naku… intro palang sisiw na kay Wynwyn… I wonder what beautifull national costume she would wear that would enable her to showcase her excellent dance moves?…

I wonder how she would answer the Q&A?.. Would she use a translator? Hmmmm?..

  4. She came across to me as channeling Parul Shah with her catwalk and Angelia Ong in Q&A. She stood out effortlessly in a sea of Caucasians. Congratulations! Well done! 👏👏👏

  5. I do not understand why new pageants choose to name their respective beauty pageants similar to existing ones. Take for example Miss Grand International is like a leveling up of Miss International title. Miss Globe International, The Miss Globe, and Miss Global are all identical. Miss Universal Ekek to Miss Universe. Miss World Beauty ek ek to Miss World. A dozen of Miss Tourism pageants. And now Miss Nature Intercontinental to Miss Intercontinental. Why not naming it unique like Miss Supranational and Miss Earth?

    • It’s because there’s just not much vocabulary anymore to use up with. Buti nga ang Big 4 talaga is fitting to their names walang ibang nakakabit… Ultimate Big 4 talaga ang Miss Universe, World, International and Earth. Di na befitting ang Supranational coz of “national”. Pwede sana Miss Globe but then marami na generics na lumalabas.. Miss Globe international etc tapos… cheapanga ang pageant…

  6. Pageant is a business and expect mo na dadame din yan. No Small and cheap crown/pageant to a real queen. dont belittle any pageants na now mo lang narining or now lang nagexist or d masyado sikat. Cause there’s a BIG thing in these pageants and that is to represent our country PHILIPPINES!!!!

  7. ang daming pageants na nagkalat!!! nkakaloka.. but congrats pa rin to Sarah. maliit man ang pageant na sinalihan niya, nag put pa din siya ng effort at hardwork to win that crown.

pero in fairness haaa. ang laki ng ginanda niya from her BBP stint. well done..

      • Heto ba sis?

The father of Imelda Schweighart’s baby boy has been REVEALED!

CHRIZ DULAGAN is identified as the father of Imelda Schweighart’s baby NOACH. A 23-year-old police officer from Sagada, Chriz represented the Philippines at the Man of the World 2017 pageant last July. Her son, Noach, was born via water birth on July 21. Prior to this, resigned Miss Philippines Earth 2016 did not share any news of her pregnancy.

“Itinago ko pagbubuntis ko para di ka mapagkaisahan ng mga taong walang awa (I hid my pregnancy so that people who have no pity won’t gang up on you),” – (quoted from Inquirer.net news article)
        Congratulations to both of you!

A charezzzzzz at very gentlewomen jokes!

      • Yes Aron, si Kristian Sarmiento yan sa pics above, siya lang ang walang napanalunan sa top 10 ng Gentlemen of the Philippines 2017, ang siyam meron lahat.

      • Tito Norms, I agree that the Gentlemen Of The Philippines final cut should have just been trimmed to Top 9 or add another placement award to avoid the awkwardness of the lone 10th finalist going home empty handed.

      • Oops I take that back. Upon closer scrutiny, I realized that TWO finalists in the Top 10 didn’t get any award: Kristian Sarmiento and John David Berganio. Which leads to an even bigger mystery – why was the title Mister Tourism World Philippines 2017 awarded to Angelo Adarlo who was not even included in the Top 16? Granted that he won as Mister Hannah’s Eco-Tourism during the Preliminaries, isn’t it proper that all the major titles up for grabs be given to the finalists at the very least? What’s your take on this, Tito Norman?

  8. No matter how small, she still gave honor to the country. Congratulations! I hope she’ll be able to encourage Polish people to visit our country

  9. This is the first of the many crowns our ladies will bring home.. MW MU Reina Hispano Americana MGI Supra…and pisssibly Globe.
We have such high calibre reps.

    • Rachel (Universe), Laura (World), Wynwyn (Reina Hispanoamericana), Elizabeth (Grand International), Chanel (Supranational) and Nelda (Globe) can do this, but don’t forget Karen (Earth), Mariel (International), Katarina (Intercontinental), Cynthia (Eco International) and Sophia (Multinational) too too

  10. congratulations!
it’s great to see some bbp alumni do well
    in international pageants
i was rooting for her back then

  11. There is Miss Earth. Then there is Miss Scuba International. Then Eco- International. Then Nature International. All of them are environment-themed pageants. But none has so far partnered with the United Nations in some of its save-the-planet initiatives. All are talking about saving Mother Earth and slowing down climate change, but none has engaged the UN, the world’s chief advocate of clean environment, in some projects congruent to their proclaimed thematic thrusts. All their activities seem to be limited to local, parochial and for-photo-opp projects– tree planting, use of eco-bags, recycling– all perfunctory references to a systemic problem that needs a global perspective. And so after the pomp and pageantry of the coronation night, what comes next seems to be a year-long hiatus to the next coronation night for the successor queen.

  12. Congratulations.

Watching the pageant though made me yelp and ask “what sorcery is this ?” Lol.

    World Peace.

      • Kalurks itey. Wala na bang background check na ginagawa before handing out awards? Norman please explain. hihihi

  13. In a continent of blondes and whites, the dark-haired brown beauty stands out. This differential advantage seems lost on some pageant fans who consider only Western archetypes as beauty standard. Christine Bona proved once more that Malay archetypes can very well compete in today’s world that celebrates diversity.

    • Agree. Took many years for people to finally notice it. The dark beauties that the filipino media and beauty orgs often insult and belittle for their local features are the ones making heads turn in the international scene. The many meztisas that we glorify too much in tv or as standards of beauty are often mediocre and are only special in the country due to our aspirational beauty standards . Of course their are exceptions with Pia as one of our best queens. Nonetheless, it is Janine Tugonon; the morena many doubted that has succeeded in having her beauty accepted by the international public. With beauty leaning towards diversity and loving one’s own personal quirks nowadays Filipinos should really hype up the aspiring dark beauties because they stand out and not the ones who swallow bucket loads of glutha. Mutya Datul’s whitening is still one of pageantry’s greatest tragedies lol. I’m fine with people whitening as their own choice. But when whitening and trying to look European or east Asian is provided by shaming and mocking dark skinned girls with local feautures, and when darker girls are forced to be more lighter in order to get a job or a partner then there is a problem. Hopefully her win can inspire some Filipinos and filipinas to love what they were born with.

      • @backlah Mutya looks ghostly and haggard with her overly pale skin. Her face is too puffy. She was beautiful if she just kept her morena tone. But It’s always the sad fate for darker filipinas; once they get famous they quickly whiten their skin.

    • In a sea of blondes and sun-tanned whites, dark hair and natural tan easily catches attention. The I was an exchange student in the USA, my Scandinavian counterparts find dark-haired naturally tan women very attractive. I don’t understand why we keep on crowning Western-looking queens only for her beauty camp to later scamper for an Oriental-look styling. Why? Because they know that the mestizas will just be “one of the girls” if placed side by side with the Latinas and the Europeans. How many of the dark-skinned Oriental-looking hopefuls did not make the cut in recent national contests– despite the splendid academic, personal and social achievements? It was good Oriental-looking Medical Physicist Karen Ibasco took the Miss Earth crown, desire the bashings that she is “not beautiful enough”.

  14. Mabuhay Ms. Bona!

    • “The beauty contest, the first edition of Miss Nature Intercontinental, draws attention to environmental issues, clean water and air, gaseous emissions, ground contamination, aggressive and often mindless extraction and use of raw materials and, consequently, healthy living.”- ayan ang sabi sa press release ng pageant…

  15. Sa anong local pageant siya nakoronahan that earned her the right to represent the Philippines? Or was she handpicked?

    Congratulations!

  16. She’s a stand out during the pageant!!! Lutang na lutang ang ganda ng kayumanggi!!! Congrats Miss Bona!!!

  17. Wow….. posing palang in 6 inch heels lampaso na ang mga kalaban…. tapos ang laban sa Q&A… Very desserving!

  18. Congratulations!!! Philippines, iran and austria lang sa asia ang kasale. now Philippines won. Next year May India, thailand at indo na din. hehe.

  19. So many pageants nowadays nkktawa na! While i believe that Ms Bona probably deserves the title, sometimes i feel like the crazy pinoy pageant afficionados are just used to make an unknown pageant become popular or at the very least trend online. Miss Supra was relatively a minor pageant until Mutya Datul went home with the crown and people started talking about the said pageant. Even Miss United Continents and The Miss Globe became known after Jeslyn Santos and Ann Colis won respectively. At any rate, congrats Ms Bona! At least training ground for Alpha pageants din ito. Hoping for the Supra, International, World and Universe crown this year!

    • Philippines being known as the best pageant fans in the whole world, luring them by letting their rep win makes the pageant popular instantly.

Pinay beauty queens should take advantage with these pageants in order to prepare them sa totoong major pageants. For sure puyat tayo sa November ksi sabay sabay the intl pageants. Consequently, I hope we win at least 1 major crown so that we will make another history as the country with the longest winning streak winning a major alpha crown. We are currently tied with Venezuela 2009-2013/Philippines 2013-2016 and by winning 1 major crown this year, Philippines will reach another milestone 😉 Pag nag back to back pa sa Intl, another milestone. Kaya crucial ang 2017 sa Philippine pageantry!
