Bb. Pilipinas 2017 1st Runner-Up Charmaine Elima promoting Skinny Juicery PH on her IG account
Ever since Charmaine Elima was named Bb. Pilipinas 2017 1st Runner-Up last April and got temporarily stressed days after when the whole controversy behind Katarina Rodriguez allegedly dilly-dallying with her commitment to the Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental crown dragged on for a bit with her name being tagged as potential alternate, the next time she became “slightly” visible was when she had her long tresses cut off. Since then, it was only last night when she uploaded two new photos on her IG account promoting The Skinny Juicery PH.
Now I am not one to pry into private details about Maine’s current whereabouts. If she wants to keep her personal life from a safe distance, then I respect that choice. It’s just that she has not yet joined the titleholders in any of our covered public appearances and inquisitive individuals never stopped asking me. It’s good that 2nd Runner-Up Kristel Guelos already did during the victory lunch hosted by David’s Salon. But I am really missing her a lot.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that she accompanies the Queens during the scheduled visit to the wounded soldiers from the Marawi City crisis this week. That would be a good opportunity to show up – short hair and all – for everyone at BPCI so that the cast will be complete. 🙂

This was Maine’s year but unfortunately BbP wanted English fluency. Life works out that way sometime. Honestly, as much as I love her, I’d understand if she moved on from pageantry. There is so much more out there in this world and she is clearly not afraid to take it on. Best to her.
For me, wag na syang sumali ng kahit anung beauty ageant..she should focus on other endeavors….and that juice ad may be a start..kelangan kc sa title holder ngaun articulate at me sense kausap..and as I recall, nagkarun lang daw sya ng confidence sa communications sa pakikihalobilo nya sa mga pasahero..I find it too shallow..superficial..

Yes she is beautiful. I was rooting for her and Peters during the pre-pageant activities but she failed to shine during the finals I must admit. Her styling didnt help either. Peters was divine all through out.
She was heavier and less fit during pageant night. I think the stress and high expectations got to her. Still had they awarded her Bb Universe she would have been easier to polish and will surely shine internationally.
She has one of the most beautiful faces sa 2017 batch. maybe not yet her time. let’s not speculate. baka naman kailangan niya lang bumawi sa work niya. nagpahinga and nag report sa work. you know, baka di pa siya sumasama kasi wala pa namang trainings and all. alam ko naman she signed a contract with 1RU duties. so let’s see.
btw, is it just me or ang tamlay ng BBP winners nagyon? i mean wala masyadong exposure, di ko alam ha. nasanay lang siguro ako sa past winners na pak, mag covers agad, kaliwat kanan ang appearances and all.

Out of the 40 beautiful driven ladies. One cannot expect to come out as the eventual winner. She should be happy that her hardwork was noticed and if she really want to be w Madam good side be a dutiful runnerup like Pia. There is always next year.
Nowadays the gift of gab w sense has more weight than a beautiful face. example ms. earth philippines Karen though not an arresting beauty grows beautiful the moment she talks.

She lost her spark during the coronation night. It wasnt meant to be. And her poor answer did not help her cause either. All the winners this year spoke with conviction and on point. BBP doesn’t reward beauty alone anymore.
It’s prob best for Elima to join again next yr.
Now that people have less expectations of her , mAybe she will be calmer and better able to think her answer through.
And when she wins and represents us internationally, then we can put to the test these people’s brave pronouncement .. that Elima is the most beautiful face that has every graced the Binibining Pilipinas stage ever 😡😩😘

Now that u mentioned her… I’d like to say that while I was not really a fan of Venus”s, I found her performance at MU really impressive …very very and all.
Beauty wise , my favorites are Ruffa Charlene Mutya Aileen Pia Kylie and Lara.

Elima is totally deserving of her 6th place finish. I would not even complain if she didn’t make the winning group- she was out of shape and u know what happened later on.

The runners-up positions in the BBP pageant is conceptually similar to “purgatory.” They are neither in eteral bliss or eternal damnation.

Very true. She is very beautiful.. di na kailangang ipaliwanag or i-justify ang face. I hope she joins again next year.. she’s still young.
She looks fresh ! That’s a face that the whole world can appreciate. I hope SHE NEVER SHOWS IP AT BBPCI events. Better for her to resign! It’s an insult to make her first runner up when none of the current BB can hold a candle to that face.
Find an agent , send your head shots to international agents and give full time modeling a try but not in Philippines.

It was clear that there were contestants that outperformed her in certain areas. Acceptance and Respect still has to be above that pride. she was given that title and it’s a responsibility. Accept fate and deal with it.
It’s easy for us audience to suggest such but try to think of how she chose to be more private nowadays. I don’t think she wants another spotlight with a controversy this time. At times, some Filipinos can be exaggerating on giving off their opinions.
This is proof that not everything else will always be in our favor. Life is full of learning experiences which will shape us towards our future. Maine wasn’t empty handed. She was rewarded of the 6th place which is really not a bad thing out of how many candidates that enlisted. Experience and realizations is what counts most because this will shape herself to what’s actually set for her in the future.
We as audience are just merely supporters and may serve as inspirations but making such suggestion to resign for not winning is too shallow or childish. She also has her own image to take care of. Nobody wants to be remembered for that act of resigning because of certain reasons. Either way if it is good or bad in people’s eyes, this is still not a good impression to people who’ll hire her in the future. Being a 1st runner up also has a set of reponsibilities. Running away from a responsibility sounds very unpleasant.
So think before you click post. 😉
