Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters will play an important role in the upcoming celebration of the Philippine Independence Day this coming Monday, June 12.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines has chosen Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters to portray “Inang Bayan” during the official Philippine Independence Day Parade at the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park on June 12 in commemoration of the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the theme: KALAYAAN 2017: PAGBABAGONG SAMA-SAMANG BALIKATIN.

Rachel will ride the Inang Bayan finale float wearing an original Albert Andrada Filipiniana creation.

It has been a long time since a Filipina beauty queen has been given this distinct honor of portraying Inang Bayan.

I’m happy that Rachel got this project! 🙂

    It’s been ages since we’ve had a contestant who is fresh and free.

    Nothing against any of the previous delegates (as they’ve made us proud) but I like how effortless she is and I think MUO will too.

    She should totally play up the First Lady of sorts role. IMG will eat that up while our ASEAN neighbors copy the child breadwinner role we’ve molded.
