  1. those friggin’ crowns are getting bigger and bigger. Can Stella choose smaller proportionate headgear for the winners? Bring back the original crowns!

    • AFTER THE PAGEANT LAST MAY 31ST ..CHANCES ARE..WE HAVE ANOTHER GLITTERING SPOTS IN THE SEMIS AMONG ALL BBP WINNERS IN THE INTL TILT…THE REST OF THE DETAILS AS TO WINNERSHIP SHALL COME OUT AS HOW OUR FILIPINA HOPEFULS WILL PAN IT OUT IN THE SWIMSUIT, GOWN AND Q EN A PHASES.. GOOD LUCK GIRLS…

  3. Sana next time, gawin na nilang mala MU ang format… I mean. nag cut sila into 25.. so anong ginawa nung iba? wala na?

I mean di ba? so the binibinis can showcase all their pasarela, their evening gowns, their national costumes.. Para kasi fair.

Sayang naman. Saw a photo of Dindi’s gown. ke ganda ganda.. pero hindi man lang nairampa. ang sad.

    • I agree. There are 3 major parts, swimsuit, evening gown and q&a. Ano lang ang basis nila to identify the top 25? Close door interview?

    • I GUESS ITS NO BIG DEAL TO THE NON-WINNING CANDIDATES…PRIOR TO THE CORONATION NIGHT THEY WERE SURELY ORIENTED WITH THE NEW MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION.LISTENING TO THE VIEWERS FEEDBACKS SO FAR..RESULTS WERE EMBRACED BY MANY….

Hihihihi. Papansin ang peg ni dudong inday. Hihihihi. Such a loser. Hihihihi

    Charerette lng☺

  6. I’m so happy talaga for my girl Rachel, deserve talaga niyang manalo ng bb. universe. Promise

That so called “age factor was a consideration” should not be mentioned anymore. Be careful with your sentence construction po Sir halata na naman pgka biased, the readers here are not dumb.

    • Hmmm.

Regardless of age, angat naman talaga performance ni peters over de leon kagabi.

Sige pagbigyan. Pero yung iba. Jusqlerd!Pangmanginginom. *Katarina

      • best comment so far! Pero sa 250K as first runner up lalong maghihirap si ate. If she joins again next year lalo mukhang dukha si Ate Charm, mag resign na lang at mag artista!

    • Well, perhaps the blogger was being diplomatic in mentioning the “age factor” versus actually pointing out the “face factor.” Because facially, Rachel Habach is polarizing, with features that make her look more mature (ehem, the “age factor”) than others. Imagine her next to Miss France. Tita & pamangkin. Yes, she has an amazing body & great interview skills (her first language is English, we’d expect nothing less) & she is perfection in all other aspects but facially she simply registers as so much more mature.

    • Couldn’t agree more. Even the hairstyle, which she sported during the MU prelims. It’s as if saying that she hasn’t moved on from MU.

I like the gown of Eden and Hammond.

  8. Napalunok ng laway si Maxine everytime sinasabi ni Pia “this time, we are looking for beauty & brain” hehe

    Tidbits from last night…
Venus: Maxine, what are you feeling that you are about to relinquish your crown?
Maxine: Oh.. (smiling) the girls are all beautiful.

Maxine is going to be one of the most facially beautiful MUP we will ever have period.

  9. I forgot to comment about the host. For the love of God, whoever thought Pia would be good to host BbP was just utterly wrongggggg! Just because she’s Miss U doesn’t mean she can do it all. She needs further refinement and workshops in hosting. It was so obvious she’s reading off the prompter and she kept of saying BBP. Like girl, you need to not say it as BBP lmaoooo. Too funny. Djusko ko Jonas what are you doing to Pia. She needs to pick her projects and not just money money money.
    KC Conception should have hosted.

    • Honga. Bakit kailangang 3 attire changes si Pia? The show was about the girls Pia, it wasn’t about you. I felt like she was stealing their thunder.

    Abangan😄😁😊😃☺😆😉

  11. My comment about the prod…

Opening Dance Number. So, stop na.

Host. Sino ba kase ang nagtanggal last minute kay KC Concepcion as host? Halatang walang chemistry sina Xian at Pia. “The winner of blah blah is… Binibini…binibini…binibini 22!” Paulit-ulit, teh? Humingi ka sana ng tip kay Pia. On the other hand, Pia was very relaxed when she speaks, at ang clear ng pagbigkas ng words. Can the prod try Tom Araullo next year?

Stage Lighting.

Isa pa, it’s a no-no to focus the back of a candidate sa swimsuit portion, hindi s’ya complimenting!

On the positive note. The format of Binibini is perfectly executed, mabilis ang pacing, hindi boring. Magaganda! ‘Di man kayang kabugin ang mga gown sa Miss Venezuela and Miss USA pageants, okay na rin. But, should it be okay to at least put the name of the designers on the screen? Mabigyan man lang ng credit sila.

HAHA. Saang planeta ba kayo galing?

Also, ang daming busog sa pageant kagabi. Jukq. Shet. I saw her in a runway show in Aura at di ko makita ang model sa kanya.

No to body shaming naman pero anong nangyari?

Over-all, okay naman yung result.

May talent eh. Si Eden, inis na inis talaga kagabi. I wonder why.

Good luck Binibinis! Wag niyo kaming pansinin na mga bashers. Mema lang naman kami. Enjoy your reign!

    • napansin ko nga din ung kay eden. parang gusto sumimangot. hinde man lang kumakaway sa farewellwalk nya. ang ganda ganda nya at ang classy ng gown but her face… but its okay.

    • Joanna Eden looked like she has the world in her back. lolol. Girl cheer up! I think the veneers are just too much for her to handle. hihihi

  13. How tall is Rachel really?! In all the post pageant pictures she looks shorter than Chanel and Mariel. She looks just as tall as Kat who is 5’6? What’s the truth Tita Norman?

  14. At least Maine was not wasted on a minor crown. I feel that SMA knows she’s MU potential but maybe not ready in terms of fluency. They really wanted to avoid another Maxine. Rachel obviously does not have the face but she is fluent and can think on her feet. She will not embarrass us with q&a like Maxine did. Buuuuut…..her face needs work. I fear Miriam Habach 2.0, she looks old and her facial structure is a bit masculine. They need to figure out a way to soften and sweeten her features.
We have to wait for the other contestants from other countries . So far physically I think she is on par with Ms Indonesia , tall but not pretty enough. In terms of q&a she is on par with Ms Singapore , fluent and spontaneous. For sure Ms Thailand is taking all this on consideration when they choose their rep. I hope they go fo Kusama, MU likes a good diversity story. Plus she’s gorgeous

  15. I fear that these ladies will suffer the same fate like of the 2014 batch.

    • I don’t know. I thought Habach fell off during the interviews not so much due to her prelims.

    • You’re right. I fear the pageant world is startiNg to have a backlash against Philippines. She maybe our Mariam.

  16. My only complaint about last night is the lack of livestreaming. Hello ABS? Are we back in the 90s again? Why can’t we cope with the times. Maybe a 5 minute delay is fine so you can censor stuff that might not be good if aired live but come on. Beauty pageants need to be cut down to 2-3 hours long.

Preliminaries- If you’re going to cut the candidates to 25, at least give everyone a chance to show their competition goods for swimsuit and evening gown. Remember some of these ladies don’t have sponsors so they probably shelled out money to get their own dresses, at least let them showcase them. Also, some designers gave and designed the gowns for the ladies so at least give them a chance to be recognized.

Top 15- So this is old format. I thought there would be a pasavogue second round of Q&A before the actual deliberations. I did like the Miss U video about the candidates.

Age- While I agree that Rache slayed everybody that night, the question still arises, isn’t it unfair to give the girl a different crown due to age? Obviously Rachel cannot be relegated to a lower crown (not even MI due to age) because of her overall performance so the Universe was hers but I thought Mariel was definitely neck in neck (Best in Long Gown and Ms Creamsilk) while Peters was Swimsuit and Photogenic. Q&A was pretty even with Rachel getting a slight advantage due to her fluidity and clarity.

It’s also worth-nothing that KF and AQ were tied in number of winners with FK getting the top plum. I like this healthy competition. It puts A&Q on their heels to make sure they don’t become complacent and be more motivated to tweak their game plans. It also seemed that KF girls came way prepared this time. It’s such a 180 turn of events.

Disappointments: Hello Dindi and Angelique especially Angelique. WOW. What was going on behind the scenes? Also Sirene, my poor Sirene, I feel for ya girl. I hope you come back as you deserve a crown, girl. Just need to get your confidence level up a bit. 🙂

    • same tayo. number one complain. jusko once a year lang naman ang bbp. hinde pa magawang ma ilive sa TV same time ng event sa arena. pwede naman i skip muna ang naka sched na program at ipalit sa 10:30 sched sana ng bbp and ilagay sa 7 or 8pm ang bbp, just to give way for bbp coronation night. so may kita pa rin naman ang abs cbn pag ka ganyan ginawa nila. kung ganyan ulit next year buti pa lumipat sila ng ibang istasyon na pwede silang bigyan ng importansya. sa solar ni chavit or tv 5 pwede na. napuyat ka na. nainis ka pa sa result.

      • Geoff yeah super annoying, Like seriously it’s not like they couldn’t put the ads on live stream as well. Must be the most annoying thing from ABS. They also need that people around the globe are watching, not only Pinoys but everyone in the pageant world are probably glued to their sets as the Philippines reps are highly anticipated!
Tito Norms, can you get these points across to their idiotic bosses? hihihi.

I was never much into Peters but she really fought last night. From the moment I saw her in swimsuit sabi ko, iba to! When I saw the color of her evening gown, aba, daring ang color- may gustong patunayan! During the Q&A, alam ko na- sa kanya ang huling halakhak!

  18. Experience brings the queens to the place where they are last night.

  19. Check nyo IG Stories ni Nicole Cordoves, Nawat was there last night. Me thinks Clenci was handpicked for MGI.

  20. Sir norman, tanong lang po. Sa latest development ng BBP on identifying the semi-finalists, informed po ba ang candidates about this right from the start? Before special award lang yun.

    • Whether the mechanics are announced earlier or later during the pageant, the ladies should always up their game and be always at their best. Like in MU and other international pageants, you’ll never know when are you being judged. For all you know the person sitting beside you during one of the sponsor visits is one of the judge during these pre-pageant activities.

BPCI is also an organization, who is looking for someone they can work with to advance their causes – whatever it is (even if there’s none). A spokesperson, a role model. Not just someone who has a beautiful face and a beautiful body. Politics will always play a big role in determining the winners. But more than that, what these ladies have shown during the pre-pageant and the finals night really matters. None of the winners, IMHO have diva-ish/diva-esque attitude. And I guess that tegardlessof the camp affiliation they have become friends.

This is the year of cross-over beauties (MWP – Peters and Ibe, MPE – Thomas, ANTM – Rodriguez) Not sure about Clenci if she joined another pageant but I remembered she previously joined BbP with her siter Sarah(?)

Just accept the fate of your fave contestants and support all the winners.

  21. GABRIELA ORTEGA may not have the body but she certainly has the face and the speaking skills and presence of mind. I want her to try for MEP ! She will do really well in speaking about earth advocacies

  22. I forgot two ladies that should definitely join again with utmost determination and perseverance… RUFFA NAVA and JAMAICA AMBAL ! !

      • SIRENE SUTTON must also compete again. Her competitive nature is showing so clearly and it will propel her to victory for one of the crowns !

  23. A nude shiny gown with cutouts for back and cleavage would have looked good on Christa Borja… Same with Sirene but with butt pads…

  24. When I heard that Mariel will join again this year, I inmediately placed her asmy MIP. Very proto-type of MI. Her class, elegance and right amount of confidence could probably bring us a B2B in MI.

I initially thought Chanel was dry and has a bland personality – not until last night. The way she handled the EG trip. She brought her personality with her. And I think that she also brings her pocket of sunshine all the time -winning Ms. Friendhship and baggigg a crown. Usually a Ms. Congeniality is always a TYG. I think we will have a higher placement in MS this year much more another crown.

When Clenci was called in the Top 25, I knew that she will do well. She upped her game last night.

Rachel – we all know that she already have a banging body but I know that she will be trained hard for the MU. Her legs I think are a mile long (hehe!) I know that she will be trained to have the “overall” package before MU next year. Another top placement for us (fingers crossed) in MU.

For the rest of the crowned Binibinis – Katarina and Nelda, congrats and good luck on your respective pageants.

For Charmaine and Kristel – you did a great job. Should you decide to join again next year – bring out your personality more. Maine I think have a very pageant patty movements last night. Just always be present with all the trainings and sched of BPCI that you are required of. Prove that you can be a person who is easy to work with and someone whontakes their responsibiity seriously. Remember at the end of the day, this is also a job. Train well on your c&m skills – it was mentioned that it is equally important that you can express yourself well and think on your toes.

Again, Congrats to the Binibini Class of 2017. 👸🏻

  25. CONGRATULATIONS, NEW BINIBINI QUEENS!!

Rachel was unstoppable last night. di ko siya bet for MUP but she deseres the title! She’ll get my full support. I placed her sa Supra.. I know she’ll do good sa MU! with that height and body.. i can’t wait anong transformation pa ang magagawa sakanya.

Mariel – I knew it she’ll be sent to International! she has this doll face and syala aura that BPCI needs for a back-to-back win in International. I always thought na ang isa sa front runner for the MUP title eh naaassign sa MI, like Bianca guidotti. since we need a strong representatie para sa back to back nga.

Channel – I like her answer but kinulang sa closing. she’s soo cute last night. she’s so bubbly.

Clenci – this girl surprised us last night. she was so elegant and beautiful.. pero bakit parang exotic ang pinapadala natin sa MGI. I mean parul shah ang peg ng beauty niya.

Nelda – Congrats for winning BB Globe. okay lang yan, kesa wala. I mean medyo kinabahan si girl..

Katarina – I know she’ll do good sa Intercon. sa ganda ng fez niya, di na siya dedemahin ng pageant. LOL (Oh, and her gown. nakakaloka. yun lang.)

Kristel – surprise surprise surprise. she did well. How old is she? can she still join next year?

Maine – she was my bet. ang dyosa niya. pero natanggap ko naman na ang fact na pwedeng hindi MUP ang makuha niya. she did good sa Q&A.. naitawid kung baga. but.. problem is may nag perform sakanya na mas okay. Naisip ko na lang, 1st RU pwedeng reserba next year. she’ll get the same training with the winners. ang by that time, mahahasa na siya.

Sirene – sabi sainyo mga fans niya e. malaki ang tulong ng camp. sinasabi niyo di niya kailangan ng camp. dito papasok ang tulong ng mga expert sa q&a. i know she can do good sa q&a pero kinabahan si girl.

at isang surprise pa sa top 25 si Beatrice!

  26. Congratulations to all the winners! They are all gorgeous and mostly tall which can only be positive for beauty pageants.

I’m ecstatic Ms Elima was given a 1st RU which I would like to think is a nod to her potential and was given another chance to prove herself.

Sadly, as expected and right on cue, binabatikos ng posters here of a certain ethnicity si Rachel as not being Filipino and that her win is tantamount to Filipinos needing to be mixed yo be beautiful and have self hatred. This is in voy United States of Beauty. One of the poster is named ‘Bakla’ who posted in this blog as alternate handles of the prolific Filipino badger. Tsk tsk tsk.

  27. Well deserved lahat. Good, prina-ritize ang QnA at d n naulit last year! Happy that the deserving girls were the ones who went home with crowns. Let’s start supporting the girls to their international quests… hearing them gloriously say….PHILIPPINES!!!!!

  28. Kristtel Guelos deserves her placement. She was ahead facially than Christa Borja, and her q&a was decent. Complete package mga eh.

    • Duck walk wins. It seems A & Q rested on their laurels. The only girl that stood out sa pasarela nila was Arienne Calingo. Pero sa KF, from Rachel Peters down to Ibe, Ruffa Nava, Clenci, et al, sobrang ginalingan!

  29. Christa Borja would have placed higher if she chose a more revealing gown that showed off her sexy body and distracted the focus away from her face.

Elizabeth Clenci is like Parul Shah 2.0 but with excellent comskills. She looked really classy and radiant in that white asymetrical gown.

Sutton chose the wrong colored gown IMO. It’s too dark that she sometimes disapears on stage. She should’ve had a quick bite before the pageant started and she may also forgot to breath heavily before her turn. The trumpets from the Dindi and Rufa supporters who was then rooting for her were all honking that she wasnt able to hear the judge’s question.

  30. not really a fan of rachel (was reminded of her lukewarm performance at MWP before) until last night, when she showed, and proved, that she deserves a top tier crown.. the height was there, the confidence and eloquence was definitely there, the body was there.. her face may not be as arresting as maxine’s but she carried herself well.. mariel also was good, her gown was divine, but i agree with one commenter, her personality is not for MU, parang kulang sa tapang… all those who were crowned did very well in the q and a, especially katarina, and clenci was a revelation, THAT gown, kung sino man ang gumawa must be congratulated, simple white but ang lakas ng dating!!!

bashers may say rachel’s face is not pretty enough for MU, but remember janine, her face was polarizing too, but her performance at MU ’12 was outstanding.. aminin: in our heart of hearts, janine was MU ’12, in spite of the face that launched a thousand debates..

over-all, i believe we have a good, and competitive set of new queens… would be exciting to see them carry the philippine sash in their respective missions.. and yes @hana ko, a grand slam win for all the titles is the ultimate dream, anyway, libre ang mangarap, at masarap ang manalo..

GOOD LUCK/CONGATULATIONS to our newly crowned Philippine queens!!!

Pahabol: please KF, sana mas bongang gown kay rachel sa MU, ayaw ni nick verreos ng ganyan, and no more veneers…!!

  31. >Honestly I think Peters got lucky. I hope she proves me wrong and I sincerely hope they work on her personality. She needs to be more fierce.
    > I really like Nelda Ibe. Her face is so endearing.
    > Elima was a slight disappointment. I guess iba talaga kapag from the start eloquent kasi kahit anong training, kapag kinabahan na, either magdedeliver or back to square one and performance. In her case nagback to square one.
    >Clenci was a pleasant surprise! However picked that gown for her contributed a lot to her chances of winning. She carried it soooo well grabe!
    >Mariel was consistent pero pabebe pa din when talking.
    >Katarina is still NOT beauty queen material in my eyes. She needs to be refined! Hindi queenly at all. Magaling lang magpose. And obvi it’s a given that she will deliver during the Q&A pero she needs to be more concise when delivering. She has to learn Pia’s strategy of using less words with greater impact like that “Think before you click” tagline.
    >Thomas is..well…let’s just say alam ko na magiging kamukha ni Kendra Kramer when she grows up. Hahaha!

    • I beg to disagree on the “lucky” part. Peters slayed the competition after winning Miss Photogenic, Best in Swimsuit and 2 other sponsor awards. After Mariel got called as MIP, it is but obvious who will be called MUP.

      • Miss Photogenic si Peters?! Really?!… Sutton, M. DLeon, Elima, Rodriguez, Huelar, Legazpi, etc are far more desserving to win that particular award.. Hello?!!

      • I am with BQ on this one. Yes, Peters really performed well last night but I honestly think that she’s behind Mariel by the slightest of margin. But the former got the top plum because she is ineligible for the next one. Overage na sya for MI so they had no choice but to exchange her place with that of Mariel para magawan ng paraan yung Top 2. And I believe dun sya sinwerte over Mariel (na pasok sa banga ang age sa MI).

Feel ko same case ito ng Guidotti-Lastimosa last 2014

      • It is definitely possible. Rach got Swimsuit while Mariel got the Evening Gown. Talk about a close fight. Also Q&A went to Rach by a very slight margin. I do believe that Rach is probably miles better in SS than Mariel was so still advantage Peters.

      • @unorthodox. Same thing happened in 2015, Pia – Janicel. However, Pia brought home the crown.

  32. Although I really wanted Mariel for MUP, I support all winners on their quest for their respective international title. May we continue the winning streak! My topmost wish though is that we finally clinch the Intercontinental title, followed by a b2b for International, then MU crown. But of course a grand slam win for all titles would be the ultimate dream. Never stop dreaming, libre naman:-)

  33. I will be cheering for Katarina most of all to win the 1st Intercontinental crown for Pinas and she can definitely do it. For the history books, I am also cheering for Mariel for a back-to-back crown for MI.

Clenci, she looks like a Thai candidate above. Who knows she might also gain a place in history in MGI.

For the three others, I wish them the best of luck but Chanel has the greatest chance of winning among these three. Facial beauty of Rachel just does not impress me but she has all the other ingredients. Nelda, I am sure will figure into the top ranking delegates in MG.

I am waiting to see who goes to United Continents ? I hope Angelique de Leon.

Larah, Mae, Camille should try for MWP and/or MEP.

Charmaine, Dindi and Jezha , please try to join again and the crowns can be yours.

  34. This is the ist time that we will send in MU some one with that body to die for with a towering height. Rachel is not my cup of tea. But i will not hate her coz she is a Filipina and our rep for Miss Universe. rachel is a hit or miss in terms of styling/beauty. her facial structure is passed. I can feel her being sincere. confident enough and a strong awra. its just her face, her beauty that i cant understand. parang common lang ang ganda nya na pag tinabi mo sa mga latina kahit mala latina ang dating nya is matatabunan pa rin sya. but i think madadaan naman sa experiment yan. tamang styling at make up ang need nya. ok na ang katawan nya. i maintain nalang at kung magka abs na lutang na lutang ay mas okay, mas maganda. Madali syang manalo sa national but universaly, mahirap pang masagot. hinde kesyo mala latina sya ay panalo na. we are now in the new era of Miss Universe. kung si donald trump pa ang may ari ng MU madali ito manalo. But who knows, its KF time again! Wag maging pasaway KF! No to MJ and Janicel again!!! Kahit Filipino designer na ngayon ay mahigpit pa din si Madamme kaya follow the rules. and study pano makuha ang loob ni sma like what pia did. so Good Luck. May you bring home your first Miss Universe!

  35. Congratulations to the winners. All of them are deserving. Pia was boring last night honestly, no audience interaction, no banter between the two hosts, relied solely on the teleprompter, wala man lang adlibs masyadong halatang nagbabasa.

  36. Congratulations, ladies!

My comment about the competition is: KF ladies stood out in pasarela than Aces & Queens’. For me, the best performer in evening gown portion was Ruffa Nava. She was so elegant. If she could only travel back time and compete in the Binibining Pilipinas 1979, she could give Melanie Marquez a run for her money.
