When I approached several Binibinis of Bb. Pilipinas 2017 to give me their thoughts about spirituality just in time for Lent, your #Binibini6 Maria Benjieleen Nama was the first to respond. While being an Official Candidate continues to excite her to no end, she still keeps her hopes in a good place so as to allow enjoyment of the entire journey.
“…with all due respect to the beliefs of other people, I am firm in saying that we all have one higher God whom we put our faith in. As a person, I truly feel that whatever I do, whatever I pursue, whatever decision drives me, I dont believe that there’s a right or wrong one, for my God has bigger plans for me. That has always been my mantra in life. Nothing shall be impossible thru God who strengthens me. I know that whatever happens, my God has bigger plans for me. Some bad and unexpected things will happen but I keep my faith strong. My faith keeps me going and drive further to my goals in life.
On the other hand when it comes to love, our God – regardless of our mistakes – continues to trust and forgive us. We human beings tend to think that we are always capable, we are always better than anyone else and to breakeven. For me, whenever people do something wrong to me, I always think that who am I not to forgive when my God, with all the sins we committed still forgives us…”
So how is your Binibini 6 handling the competition?
“Tito Norms! To be an Official Candidate of Bb. Pilipinas is already a big deal for me. I am focused on all the good things coming my way. Honestly – regardless of whether I win a crown or not, I am already grateful for getting this far as a Binibini. Totoo po iyan. I am enjoying the whole ride because I don’t want to unnecessarily pressure myself. Basta, I am giving a good fight for my dreams so that I won’t end up with what-ifs.”
