  2. Itigil na po natin ang pag emphasize sa height factor. Baka nakalimutan niyo na 5’0-5’2 lamang ang average height female Filipino. We forgot where we got our ancestry.

    Ang mahalaga sa akin yung ma-represent niya ang bansa at makita sa kanya ng ibang lahi na tayong mga Pilipino ay may mga magagandang katangian na wala sa iba.

    At kung mix blood siya, dapat dito lumaki ng sa gayon ay alam niya ang kulturang Pilipino.

Way too early to make any predictions, but I will say that based on sheer facial beauty alone (especially that which can be appreciated on the international level outside of the Philippines) Elima, Peters, and Sutton are the clear standouts. At the same time, I doubt the hunger element in all three.

    Dindi’s beauty is clearly in large part with the help of her makeup brush and rollers, but I will say the girl has a hunger that I can feel and taste thousands of miles away. She had it last year already. Maybe destiny needed to make her even hungrier. She’s ready to hit the international stage today.

    Angelique de Leon’s spunk and fight have always reminded me of MJ. I’ve always thought she had the goods to be successful internationally and I think this is the year she will actually get that chance.

    Jessica Ramirez has such a bright and joyful beauty. Don’t know much about her or what her comm skills are like, but that face and aura alone would stand out internationally.

    Can’t wait to see how the competition heats up. For now, I hope BbP focuses on girls that can demonstrate hunger to compete internationally. Before beauty, comm skills, height, camp, whatever – a girl needs that hunger if she is going to represent the pageant-obsessed Philippines abroad. We’re not crowning national titleholders alone, we’re crowning titleholders who will compete internationally. In all honesty, this year’s batch has a few winners who seemed content with their lives in the Philippines. And’s that exactly where they ended up. There are girls in this group who have clearly demonstrated they want to do more than come back home, they want to bring home the bacon.

If I may suggest paki-shave lang ng konti ang buhok sa forehead ni Mariel para maging proportionate ng konti. Ganyan ang ginawang remedy kay Charlene nung Miss Universe 1994. Tsaka bawas pa ng konting timbang. Please? Charmaine Elima should know when to peak.

    I feel that Sirene Sutton will get the Miss Anna Fernandina Buquid award this year. Sana mali ako.

    Sya lang yung may umph factor for me lahat hindi rumirehistro…I like Dindi din but ewan parang may kulang.

    And yes, in terms of diversity I would want Mariel to represent Philippines..kasi pag pinagtabi tabi mo mukha ng Miss Philippines since 2010 maloloka ang Universe…The changing face of Miss Philippines.

    Not boring at all….parang there’s always something to look forward to

  16. I think that Mariel de Leon is overrated. I have yet to see her versatility when it comes to hairstyles. Laging ganyang may hair to the face kasi hindi kaya magbun or pullback. We need a beautiful face that is versatile. Look at Pia. Her face can be done so beautifully in different styles. Also IMG is a modeling agency so they want they beauty queens versatile. The crown I would give to Mariel would be International as the highest or intercontinental.

    Supra–Rachel Peters. She’s NOW ready. Supra suits her. Body and beauty wise. Dapat sa Supra yun rampadora, eksenadora at eksaherada.
    Or Dindi Pajares kasi eksenadora din ate niyo

    Intercontinental–Channel Olive Thomas fits the Intercontinental mold. Yun soshal soshal at mukhang mamahalin

    Grand–Arriene Calingo. Her credential is perfect for the stop the war campaign of this presumptuous pageant.

    Globe/United Continents–any of the girls mentioned above who will not get the crown/title

      Stephany, I must agree that MU is open to having candidates na 28 years old. BUT ang sinalihan mo kasi is Bb. Pilipinas… Not Miss Universe Philippines. if ilalaban kasi natin ang rason mo na ang MU, okay sa 28.. eh magkakaconflict.. are you sure you’re going to win MUP? what if manalo ka as BB International? as BB Supranational and etc. ano nang mangyayari? hindi ka mapapadala just because hindi mo na mami-meet ang isa sa mga requirements nila. ang saklap naman di ba if runner up ka? last try mo na sa pageants.. runner up pa dahil lan sa issue ng age mo.

      both parties naman, may mali.. BPCI and you or your camp. I understand that you feel bad about not being an official candidate.. parang pinaasa lang.. pero kasi… yun nga.. sana.. sa umpisa pa lang… 🙂

    • Most of the other titles’ age limits are between 26-27.
      It’s like she’s assuming she’ll be Miss Universe Philippines already.

    • Stephany had her chance nung Miss Earth. She went to Miss Earth 2012 unprepared. She wasn’t fit. And yet she won Miss Earth-Air. Feeling entitled naman siya. She had her chance and yet she blew it.

    • She is still qualified for MUP. Yun lang naman ang target nya. Pagdating ng deliveration sa finals, kung mapabilang man sya sa mga finalists MUP lang talaga sya pwede. MUP or nothing. Maliit ang chance nya dahil marami ang deserving as MUP. Kaya siguro di na sya tinanggap sa 40 official candidates.

  22. Madam stella makinig ka naman. Please, nagmamakawa. BBP is considered as one of the most prestigious beauty pageant pero unti unti ng namgmumukhang joke dahil sa dami ng titles. Ang daming MU at MI calibers na pinapadala mo sa 2nd tier pageants. Sayang madam. Sana baguhin mo ang format ng BBP, 2 major crowns lang ang pag aagawan (MU and MI) at 5 RU para sila yung ipadala mo sa 2nd tier pageants. Kung di man maiuwi ang corona sa 2nd tier pageants eh pwede pa ding sumabak sa susunod na BBP editions. Sayang madam eh. Gawing training international ground yang mga 2nd tier pageants.

    • eh di ganon din! marami pa rin sila! LOL and besides kung ang runner up din naman ang ipapadala sa ‘2nd tier’ pageants mo, again, ganun din ulit. hindi na rin sila pwede sumali kasi nga na represent na nila ang country under BPCI. gets? I think ang gusto mo paratingin is, drop the other pageants na hawak nila and retain MUP, BB International and 1RU.

      • Wrong. Maricar Balagtas was Bb Pilipinas 2RU in 2001 and sent to compete in and won Miss Globe International 2001. Because she was only a RU in the nationals, despite her international crown, she was able to compete in Bb Pilipinas again (her 3rd time too!) and got the Bb Pilipinas Universe title in 2004.

      • So dapat pala palitan ng bpci ang sistema nila.
        Pag nakoronahan na ang isang kandidata maari ulit siya sumali habang qualified pa. Kasehodang mapanalunan nya ang parehong korona. Ex. Christie Lynn McGarry.

    • yeah ganun din. kahit pa runner up sila pero i aapoint sila sa other minor pageant. same din naman. kaibahan lang ginawa silang runner ups kaysa korononahan ng minor titles. pero ang ending isasabak pa rin sa international pageant and allowing them to join next years kahit nagrepresent na sila is not a good idea. pwedeng unfair and pagmulan ng issue na luto ang result kapag sila ang nanalo ulet sa ibang titles.
      The best solution is magkaroon sila ng bbp all star pageant kahit isang taon lang or salitan. sa pageant na yan. yung mga past title holders na hinde nanalo ang sasali but of course if qualified pa ang age nila. in case same title pa din ang makuha nila base sa scores and ranking of titles so b4 announcing the winners bbp will decide for switch titles. yun lang naman ang solution. kahit naka pag represent na sila internationaly ok pa rin dahil all star naman ang pegeant.

  23. ELIMA, Mariel, Nava, Sirene, katarina are the ones with international caliber beauty. Anyone of them can be MU bet. I don’t really care about the other crowns. We all know they are a joke mostly.

  24. Sirene, Sirene, Sirene, Jehza, and Dindi. My picks. Sirene, ofc, is for MUP. Dindi/Jehza for Intercon and MGI. Mariel for Miss International and Elima for MS.

  25. Maghintay na ako muna ng mga ilang araw bago ako magsalita dahil sigurado ako marami sa mga ingiterang palaka ang magkakalkal sa mga makukulay na tinatago ng mga official candidates.

  26. Sana si Sirene huwag na magpa ampon sa kahit na anong camp. Na-manage Niya nga na mag-qualify ng walang camp at talunin yung may mga Meron, SA finals night PA kaya. Si Mutya NGA nanalo ng walang training camp eh. Pa ampon lang si Sirene kung Hindi MS crown Ang makukuha niya otherwise yung “freestyle” na Alam niya yun lang execute Niya para walang pressure. Si Yvette, AQ pero di rin nakuha yung timpla, si Joanna, KF pero di PA rin nakuha yung timpla.

    • Si Nicole C din waley ang timpla during her BBP days. Okay naman si Joanna.

      • Agree naman ako Kay Joanna SA title Niya, nag-underperform lang sa Poland talaga. Pero pangalawa na siya ng Kf after Rogelie and still di PA din nakuha timpla. Si Nicole C may determination naman Kasi talaga. Sabi Niya nga “I know what Nawat is looking for”.

    • nasa girl pa rin naman yan. nasa determination. minsan maling title napunta kaya hinde nag success. minsan ang aga kase isinabak kaya ibang title ang napanalunan at clapper sa patimpalak na sinalihan. Joanna is a proof and janicel lubina. But Having a camp is a good idea and a BIG help. Isipin mo din kung walang A&Q and other camps. Hinde ganito ang Philippine Pageant World kung ano man tayo ngayon. Yang mga independent na yan sa mga camps din sila nakakakuha ng mga ideas on how to walk. how to talk and so on….

  31. I am focusing on the best pick for Intercontinental and Grand International because we have not won these yet. Obviously , they cannot be the top candidates because those should go to MU.

    I think Dindi Pajares for Grand International and Katarina Rodriguez for Intercontinental.

    For Universe ? Hmmm…. Mariel de Leon but she should work out hard and work out plenty, OR Charmaine Elima but is she tall enough and speak a lot better now ?

      • Actually di naman kailangan paabutin ng 40 ang mga official candidates. Mas mahirap i-judge ang marami. Di bale sana kung may pre pageant. Mas ok sana kung 24 to 30 na lang.

        Sabagay si MJ Lastimosa palagay ko 5’6″ lang din. Pia is 5’7″, Maxine is 5’7-1/2″

  35. Im not going to pick any faves this year. I didn’t do very well last year.
    I picked 6 last year and stuck with them throughout. Of my 6 picks. only Kylie V. made the winners circle… and eventually struck gold by winning MI 2016.

    Im just going to relax and enjoy the developments into the coronation event.
    May the winners circle be a grand celebration of Filipina beauties…again!

    Alternatives are Peters and Jehza.

    Colingo is too short … at kulang sa beauty . But she seems very put together.
    I’m not impressed with Mariel . She sounds immature And shy . Her beauty is… let’s just say I wish she looked more like her dad

    Elima is a beauty but her speaking skillls are definitely in need of improvement . At least With Dindi, she may not talk like she were from Poveda. But At least she is street smart and can respond to just abt anything with confidence .. at least I hope soo.
    To those who say Dindi looks Vietnamese , what’s wrong with that ? Tse hihihi

    • i will put Maria Gail rather than rachel peters. Dindi pasado saken. Jehza yes na yes. ive seen something on her eyes. pero parang pang MI ang ginagawa sa kanya ng aces eh. kina kylie Versoza. i like her style during last day of screening. Ma style lang sya ng tama, pang MUisssh at ma ace nya ang intervirew at Q&A. May laban yan sa MUP even in MU.
      Pero mas bet ko si Dindi sa supra.
      Maria Gail is my top choice for Universe. Her name is shooo innn!!!

    • Vietnam is part of the ASEAN belt. Ang mga Pinoy kasi masyadong mapagmataas. Pumunta ka ng Thailand o Indonesia mapagkakamalan mo din Silang Pinoy. Ganun din Tayo pag pumunta SA bansa NILA. Kaya maraming naiinis SA atin. Akala yata ng mga Pinoy eh pinsan natin Ang mga Espanyol.

  37. Just my humble Opinion, Number 15 is the fairest candidate in this batch. Sana double time ang pagda diet at pag gigym para pak na pak na ang body come Coronation Night.
