But fewer individuals know that – during the National Costume segment at the Preliminary Competition – a backstage drama unfolded when an accident happened to Miss Mauritius. The caped train of her attire was accidentally stepped on and she fell straight to the floor – face and head first. Suddenly, blood was oozing from out of her lips/face and dripping down her neck to the upper part of her costume. Everybody, including other candidates who were already wearing their heavy attires, rushed to her side and helped her get up. She was having difficulty regaining her bearings. That was when the backstage officials asked her not to step out onstage anymore as she might just fall on her knees while navigating the full vertical stretch of the wall to the middle.
But Kushboo cried and pleaded that she cannot possibly be stopped from showcasing her National Costume, especially that the effort that went into finishing the same was meticulously painstaking. She would not let anything stop her from taking her due spotlight.
And so, she was allowed to show herself, just enough to acknowledge the applause of the audience but not to do the walk to centerstage anymore. But when the voice-over announced that her National Costume was made by a Filipino, the cheers from everyone inside the Arena increased.
Instead of just standing at the rear middle part of the stage, Kushboo relied on pure adrenaline rush to get herself to do the long walk regardless of the physical pain she was feeling all over. Her face could not express a full-on smile, but deep inside, she was ecstatic that she was able to cross over.
Now that is what you call a beautiful and brave woman with a heart. And she deserves this blog post because I want you all to know the courage she went through that night during the Preliminaries. 🙂

This is the second time na gagawa ako ng thread about my chismis and observations.
Hindi ako gaya ng iba na dyan na nakiki-internet lang. i have connections. As I type ngayon nasa loob ako ng MOA
ARENA ka rubbing elbows ang family and directors.
This is the 2nd time na papanuorin ko ang rehearsals.
I will add more chismis to my thread as the event unfolds. May chismis ako yesterday pero tinatamad pako.

Pasabog No. 1: burahin nyo na yang listahan nyo na puro frontrunners. Dahil magugulat kayo sa Top 12. Kakaiba ang listahan nila at
Halos 2-3 lang sa frontrunners and totoong pumasok. (Suggestion: panuorin nyo uli ang prelims. And look at the girls with weak sash na maganda at nag perform well!!– ayusin nyo listahan nyo!) maraming pleasant surpises
Chismis No.2: May frontrunner na nangagaw ng Terno ng isang kandidata sa Vigan. The gown which looked so divine was not HERS. Apparrently,hindi nakakaintindi ng English si naagawan,and the retokada took advantage of it. Hindi alam ito ng MUO dahil organizers lang nakaalam. Tanong: Malalaman ba nila? Yan ay tatanungin ko pa.
No.3: kahapon may kandidatang napagalitan dahil nawala sa stage. Dapat bumalik mga girls after swimsuit top
12 rehearsals sa stage. Napagalitan ng floor director.
No. 4: kandidatang kahit pumalakpak eh panalo naman ang papa. Susme ang gwapo ng Jowa!
Dagdag chika:
No. 5 Opening no, Zillionaire. May DJ Booth
No.6: ang labas sa swimsuit nagbago- 3,3,3,3 + 1. So i guess may Top 13? So medyo confusing instructions ni Lu Sierra
No. 7: wala nang,Ma Mika Maxine Medina Philippines sa opening. Puro name ng country na lang
No. 8: Kumpleto ang Thai delegation at may mga tranny pang kasama

No. 9: si Maxine naka white dress and gray pleated skirt. Kamukha nya si Kurara ngayon.
No. 10: di lingid sa kaalaman nyo na ambassador na si Pia ng MUO. Pero may isa pang chika,according to ester,Pia is the best miss universe in the last 10 years. Sinusuka na nila yung ibang Miss U dati. Nakakatawa lang.
No. 11: Si strong sash factor woman. Whether you like it or not papasok sya. Kasi maganda back story nya. IMG is now looking for a girl with substance.
No. 12: si strong such pactor girl pa rin,umaawra na sa stage.. she is wearing that sash after all.. kutob ko sya na itinakda. The moment she handles that mic. Sya na!’
No. 13: Opening,Pia enters the stage,chat chat with Steve sabay sabi ni Pia,thanks for making me a popular miss U. Sabi ni Steve,thank you for making me a popular host together with Colombia.. hahaha
No. 14: hindi ma enunciate ni steve ang CHILE kaloka haha
No. 15: may video ang miss u contestants with their mom before magsimula ang long gown comp.
No. 16: may flowers sa evening gown competition na mga 6-7 na bugkos na may capiz pearl (parang tear drop effect)

Nagpapansit and lomi si madame asukal sa mga director at directora kagabi. At inannounce na may 10 babaeng nag Tie. They will break it on the final show before magstart ang show and ibabase lang sa AURA. Oh ha!! Ayan na yon. Kung ilan ang kukunin,hindi na sinabi. Kung sino ang mag break ng tie. Hindi ko din alam.

nakaka kaba naman yan! so from the start. ang rule na sinabi ng MUO sa judge if ever totoo yan. is kung sinong weak sash o mga bansa na hinde pa narampa sa final competitions even in the past years ang i jujudge ng maigi base sa performance. but they reserved a slot of 2 or 3 na front runners. i find this unfair if ever. almost marami sa front runners did their best.

Si Venezuela ba yung nang agaw ng terno kay Kazakhstan? I believe dun sa “Pia is the best MU in years,” hindi lang kay Esther but Paula mentioned that in one of her interviews that Pia exceeded their expectations na mahihirapan ang next winner na pumantay sa kanya or higitan siya.
kaya pala nahuli si Mauritius lumabas, nung tinawag ang Mauritius si Mexico ang nasa stage. Lingid man sa kaalaman to ng live audience, they applauded her upon realizing that the costume was made here as the host said “Give her a cheer coz the dress was made here.”

Maxine’s birthday is in May and her birthday gem is emerald which is green..Her favorite color is green. Kaya green and isinuot-and this was based from her interview.

Bravo! Miss Mauritius! …I have to make light of this situation, though, with Norman’s choice of words: she was ecstatic that she was able to cross over. Hehe…Kidding aside, I think her NatCos is very pretty and she looks like it, too.
I think there is more to admire about her besides this (I’ll be sharing that in my blogpost tomorrow). But I’m so glad she’s a trouper.
