The ladies of the 65th Miss Universe woke up bright and early this morning for a good reason – it’s the day of Swimsuit Presentation at JPark Island Resort in Cebu. So after landing in the Queen City of the South, they were brought straight to the venue where they met their little sisters – a throwback to past pageant memories when little girls actually represented each of the delegates. They even had crowns on top of their heads! It was fun-filled for everyone.

But right after the pleasantries, they went to hair and make-up for the Swimsuit Presentation which – quite interestingly – had all of them in one-piece swimwear for a change.

  4. Thailand killed it. She has everything going on with the way she delivered. Maxine was nowhere. Sorry. That hairstyle doesn’t suit the occasion; looks so conservative. She could’ve have let her hair out like Thailand. The one piece bathing suit is so outdated and add that with a hairstyle that’s she wore the previous night and you’ll be slayed.

  5. Maxine couldn’t have picked the worst swimsuit. 😟

    Thailand slayed it last night followed by Venezuela and Colombia.

    • Unfortunately, I have to agree. Of all the options, the one she picked is the worst. I think the black-and-white would have suited her the best. She has to start “bringing it”.

    • Did the candidates get the chance to pick their own swimsuits or naka assign na?

  6. Maxine did not show her pasabog walk for swimsuit. This girl knows when to peak. Inuuna niyang magpasabog or magkalat ang ibang kandidata. Hindi muna s’ya nagpapapansin kahit pansinin s’yang talaga. Kahit sa governor’s ball, simple lang ang gown n’ya. Baka ang pasabog niya sa gown eh sa finals talaga. Good job, Maxine!

  8. All I can say is that these swimsuits are horrendous

    Design is out dated

    Bad cut / shape

    Very unflattering

    And it looks like a “divisoria” swimsuit

    • TRUEEEEE! akala ko ako lang nakapansin. unflattering fit! i hope hindi ito ang susuotin nila sa prelims and finals! but what can we do? those are yamamays!

    • Not all of them. I like what Thailand/Russia wore and the one with varsity numbers (looks sporty).

  9. Parang ako napagod sa kanila. Kagabi nasa SMX sila puma-party tapos paggising ko kanina, nasa Cebu na sila! Kaloka. Natulog ba sila?

    • Ganyan din ang reklamo ng ibang candidates every year hihihi
      Kaya kung time ng tulog ay matulog dapat pero di ba sabi rin ng past Philippine candidates ay minsan ay 3-5 hrs na lang tulog nila kasi they have to wake-up early dahil 1-2 hrs sila magpaganda bago lalabas sa kuarto nila to eat hihihi
      eh yung mga di makatulog na candidate kasi dinalaw ng pagiging burikat kay nawawala na lang bigla sa kuarto hihihi charot lang ha jawskuh bashing ba yung sinabi ko hihihii charette

      • Ako rin sophia. Para sakin din naman ok ang one piece pero sana creative cut outs sa likod or anything not out dated.

  13. Okay. first and foremost. congrats again to the organizers! Hindi puchu puchu ang production level!! there are still room for improvement but keri na! Presentation lang naman. wait, this is just a presentation right? not judged.

    With their swimsuits. are these the new collection of yamamay? medyo weird lang to see them in 1 piece tas hindi pa pare-parehas. okay lang naman but yung iba hindi na emphasize ang figure! parang maluwag ang fitting sa iba. are they goiing to wear the same 1pc swimsuits sa prelims or finals?

    I like Maxine’s performance.. hindi agaw eksena, simple lang. rampahan lang. daanin sa ganda at sa projection. i like her walk. very virgin ika nga. LOL

    based on the performance, I think Maxine’s competition is Venezuela and not Colombia. Saw Andrea’s performance… it was meh. and parang ang bilugan niya?

  16. I would choose Venezuela over Colombia any day. I still don’t really get Mariam’s beauty BUT her stage presence is undeniable and i love her personality. She’s bubbling up to me.

  18. on maxine performance at jpark hotel wearing one piece is an improvement of her past performance. during bbp pilipinas. it just a presentation thats why hinde sya nagpasabog. i will expect yung pasabog nya sa prelim at and sa finals and dapat meron talaga. but i will not expect her to win. jonas gafud posted in his IG. Venenzuela has the best body and catwalk for him during presentation so ano pa kaya pag prelim na. All i can say on maxine’s performance kanina is simply but elegant. Magustuhan kaya ng judges ang simply but elegant sa prelim at finals if ever.
    Did you guys read Gloria diaz told in her interview last night about sa chance ni maxine na manalo. she said NO! But she has a chance one in a million. anung say nyo? Ako, we will see nalang sa prelim and finals i cant say more from now. basta top 3 finish kay maxine sa MU finals masaya na ako.

    P.S nakikita ko si ariadna kay costa rica kanina base sa performance nya sa presentation. but not 100%.

    • I am rather underwhelmed by her presentation and I hope she is just “waiting to peak”. Her swimsuit choice didn’t help her either –even though it is slim pickings. I think the black-and-white swimsuit would have been the better option.

      According to the news report via CNN Philippines, this swimsuit presentation was part of the competiton. The organizers had “secret” judges scattered all over to observe/judge the candidates; it wasn’t just another presentation show. Maxine should bring her A game all the time, every time, everyday.

      • Psssst! Aces & Queens trained her hard and taught her the strategy what to do and when to peak. ‘Wag masyado maalarma. Mas may alam pa mga trainer niya kesa sa atin. So, chillax lang bes.

  25. “Know when to peak”

    Yan pa rin ba ang game plan? Parang may mali eh, nasa Pilipinas si Max, hinahanap siya ng mga tao, people are expecting her to excel, nasa kanya ang attention. Yang pa peak na yan, marami ang nagte-take advantage nyan. Sana they step up the game plan. Si Colombia may mga imperfections at nagcomment pa ng di maganda don sa binagay ng sponsor– SM pero na magnet parin niya attention ng mga tao AT “napa pila niya pa ang Greta” (nacomment don sa kabilang article). Bakit??? Dahil sa PERSONALITY nya kaya nagustohan siya ng mga tao, nilamon ng personality niya ang mga imperfections niya. Personality lang naman puhonan nila kaya muntikan silang mag back to back last year at naungosan pa si Olivia na di hamak mas maganda pa sagot kaysa kay Ary. Don nagkulang si Max, sana nag take advantage na lang siya sa lahat ng pagkakataon at nag enjoy kasi mukhang pigil eh, wala naman sanang mawawala sa kanya kasi nasa home court siya.

    Sana maging successful yong pasabog nila at maprove ni Max yong mga doubters na they are wrong. Masaya na ako kahit top 5 placement. Wish you all the best Max!

    PS. Nakakabwesit, bakit walang pa live streaming yong mga events nila??
