65th Miss Universe Provincial Tour: Baluarte in Vigan, Ilocos Sur

Some of the 65th Miss Universe candidates went on a whirlwind visit to Vigan, Ilocos Sur that started with a tour of Gov Luis Chavit Singson’s Baluarte Zoo along with accredited members of the media. My partner Joy Arguil enjoyed the time taking their photos and joining in the animal show and pottery making activity.

The twenty (20) beauties who were present are Maxine Medina of the Philippines, Mariam Habach of Venezuela, Raissa Santana of Brazil, Kiran Jassal of Malaysia, Chalita Suansane of Thailand, Hawa Kamara of Sierra Leone, Zoey Ivory of the Netherlands, Virginia Argueta of Guatemala, Jaime-lee Faulkner of Great Britain, Zuzana Kollarova of the Slovak Republic, Stephanie Geldhof of Belgium, Marina Jacoby of Nicaragua, Erika Creque of the British Virgin Islands, Andrea Bezdekova of the Czech Republic, Monyque Brooks of the Cayman Islands, Cheryl Chou of Singapore, Violina Ancheva of Bulgaria, Dang Thi Le Hang of Vietnam, Magdalena Cohendet of Uruguay and Deshauna Barber of the USA.

After this activity, they were immediately whisked away to the Calle Crisologo area where they were fully made up for the Cultural Terno Show at Plaza Burgos hosted by Nina Ricci Alagao, Priscilla Meirelles and Jeslyn Santos.

  2. So the assignment of the ternos were based on the beauty, popularity and personality of the contestants?

  3. I love the fit of the terno on Maxine. But I find it too simple. It was actually a strapless gown with a detachable butterfly sleeves. Good thing Maxine carried it well.

    I love Venezuela’s and Thailand’s grabe ang details especially on the white terno of Thailand.

    Wish there’s a terno fashion show with all the delegates. This is a way to celebrate and showcase our fellow Filipino’s creativity and talent.

    As for the ladies who will wear a filipino designer’s gown, let’s behappy for them and the deaigner na lang that the world, the universe rather will get to see their creation and talent. I remember Rissa Santos wore a Libiran gown. How did the Canadians feel kaya at that time diba?

  9. It’s really anyone’s race. So many pretty girls. I wish Maxine all the best. Thailand is so beautiful too.
    This schedule is so punishing to the girls! I hope they have enough free time. It must be awesome for them to see how fanatic Filipinos are with this pageant.

  14. Okay. I like the idea of doing the show sa Calle Crisologo. mas feel mo ang ‘terno’ vibe. Mala santa cruzan vibe. LOL pero mas okay sana kung lahat ng candidates andoon. but… syempre mahirap yon!

    My top 3 fave ternos are: Maxine’s, Chalita’s and Mariam’s.

    Grabe mas maganda pa yung kay Thailand kesa kay Philippines! di kaya sila nagkapalit?? CHAROT LANG! But i still love the Andrada terno that Maxine wore.

    Venezuela was flawlss. I love her! I’ll choose Mariam anytime over Andrea! LOL

    BUT! bat ganon, may underwhelming ternos? I though this is the chance we get to see some bonggang terno! Mas maganda pa ung traje de mestiza ni Bessie Besana. yun yung mga ineexpect ko. the Cary Santiago terno… yung mga ganon.. wala bang nag screen man lang nung designs??? KALOKA!

  19. Miss U is a marathon, not a sprint. And this is Philippines, not Vegas. AKA the combo of exotic weather, foreign air/water, and jet lag is going to be a serious test for these women, just as they would for any traveler. Maxine aside, I think some are clearly shining above the rest and that would be Venezuela and Brazil.

    • So why bother commenting on the stale accounts of the proceedings then? Isn’t your time better spent chasing after the latest scoops on IG?
