Time flies so fast. It has been a year since that fateful night in Las Vegas last December 21, 2015

Time really flies so fast. It has now been a year since that eventful night in Las Vegas last December 21, 2015 when Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was crowned the 64th Miss Universe during the live finals marred by an announcement controversy that created waves of huge news flashes all around the Universe.

Today, Miss Universe 2015 celebrates her 1st Year Anniversary into the reign and what a glorious period it has been for Queen P. It will take another month and 9 days from now until she relinquishes the DIC crown (which she has – quite noticeably – not been wearing for some time now) to a new wearer on January 29/30, 2017.

Thank you for the gift of Beauty, Pride and Honor to the entire Filipino Nation! Yours is a reign that will never be forgotten. 🙂

  2. itong MU 2015 video nalang ang papanoorin ko ng paulit ulit kaysa sa mw2016.
    ive read in sashfactor na muntik na daw matuloy ang MU sa pinas noong 2014 and nabasa ko din na nung hilingin daw ni pia kay madamme na pinoy designer gown ang choice nya. pumayag si madamme but in one condition. and that condition of sma is you will win. siguro sinabi nya yes i will since b4 may sinabi sya sa twitter na sya ang bahala at babawi sya sa MU. and buti nalang nanalo sya.nakakaiyak ang kwentong yan at ang pagkapanalo nya. hinde nya binigo si sma and also us. thats why Filipino designer dress na ang suot ng ating mga binibini na lumaban sa ibang bansa at dahil nanalo si kylie at nag runner up si nichole at nicole so im sure bukas na bukas na ang buong puso ni sma sa mga pinoy designer and pia will working in bbp i think she will be part if bbp na para makatulong sa mga binibini natin. this is a good idea and she should be. i want her to be our ND.

  4. dahil sa nangyari kay cat. parang nabawasan ako ng excitement sa MU2016. parang mas na eexcite ako sa bbp at mwp 2017. thinking who will be our 2017 queens and asking if we should send MW calibre next year since kapitbahay natin ang host country and also siguro nagsumbong na si miss minchin kay julia about sa complain natin. well they cant blame us. yang lilian na yan ang nagsimula. i have a doubt na sya ang lumapit kay julia. but anyway, la na ako paki dyan sa mw. everytime na makakita ako ng post ng mw scroll down agad. nakakapag init lang kase ng ulo.

    I admit she’s not my bet during BbP, but when I had a chance to talk to her during one of their Dairy promo at Gateway Mall, I started to love her kasi napakabait nya. Walang angal sa mga nagpapapicture sa kanya. From that moment I know malayo ang mararating niya sa MU.

    After that final question during the coronation night, her answer gave me the assurance that she will gonna win the crown. But when she was called as 1st runner up … napaluha ako … I know in my heart hindi tama ang resulta. And when Steve went back to stage to say there was a mistake… tumalon talaga ako sa tuwa!
    That was history talaga…

    Thank you Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach … you will be remembered as the best Miss Universe ever! God bless you.

    • Thanks Bong. I love that awkward smile of Pia when she looked at Ary wearing the crown. Pia was beaming with so much humility. Priceless! What a truly unforgettable Miss Universe 2015 🙂

Not that it matters of course but just curious about her parentage and ethnicity..and yes, she is stunning and a face you really haven’t seen before anywhere..its a shame because she would have given Gigi or Bella Hadid a run for their supermodel money

      • All her grandparents are of Filipino Citizenship except her maternal grandfather who’s 100% white American…
        Maternal Grandmother is Tagalog & Kapampangan?
        Paternal Grandfather is 1/2 American 1/4Spanish 1/8 Chinese?
        Paternal Grandmother is 3/4 Spanish 1/4 Cebuana

        That makes her around 37.5% White American, 25+% Spanish, and a maximum of 37.5% Asian ( Native Filipino and a bit of Chinese)

      • Mga bagong henerasyon ngayon ganyan na ang hitsura dahil sa mga dugong humahalo. Im a young mixed bred as well. I think shes one of those who can sport more than one look and its a plus factor. This will also be another good opportunity to showcase the country’s diversity.

Her mother Lotlot de Leon is half American who has a brother na ampon naman ni Hilda Coronel. Mas lamang ang pagiging Caucasian Niya kesa sa pagiging Asian Niya. If she enter beauty pageant, she will be the third on her clan after Ruffa Gutierrez and Liza Lorena.

    • Why did MUO hold it’s pageant in the USA where they kill LGBT people, racial wars and female inequality runs rampant? Yes, that was a stupid question. Just as stupid as @sam’s. EVERY country has its dark side, bar none! And each country deals with it as best they can, through laws and enforcement. That said, there is no other country which has as many pageant supporters as The Philippines, PERIOD. We will do the best we can with more heart and soul to ensure a successful, loving, and beautiful pageant. Come on over Sam. We’ll even welcome you to the pearl of the Pacific and show you that there may be darkness and wrongs in the world but life, in spite of it all, is beautiful. Mabuhay!
