  1. Mga mars, may kaguluhang nangyayari sa instagram regarding the miss international 2016 result. One of the judges posted a photo of the countries she voted for to be in the top 15. She voted for Peru, Colombia and Venezuela daw. Look at her caption, she said “something strange happened” and she doesn’t wanna judge this pageant anymore. Ayan ang mga latino nagwala. Fraud daw ang MI….. But the thing is she’s not the only judge sa pageant? What if the other judges didn’t vote for Peru Venezuela and Colombia to enter the top 15? Diba they combine the all the judges’ scores?

    • Si mareng Laura Spoya umeksena naman.

I’ve translated her caption to English already
Today I woke up with a great unflavored being a spectator of great injustices in the @missinternationalofficial I can say from experience participant and top 15 in 2010 that this event has changed dramatically and is no longer transparent competition I met. It is very sad to realize that nowadays in beauty contests (not all thankfully) take precedence much interest, whether political, economic or social. While leading one is a business and as such should seek to generate revenue to be profitable, it seems to put aside the real talent and ability of the contestants and their dreams and goals just to make a profit is questionable. I am Peruvian and it hurt not see @daneapanta sorting because I know what worked hard and know his great ability to be a great queen, and as she @daniherrera_a @ jessicaduarte19 and in my opinion should also be in the picture. In the words of one of the judges @ambassadoracve something very strange happened … will simply list was manipulated? .. Why not be fair? Because change results? .. That will remain in the minds of all people who like me were really confused with what is seen. If I write this is because how frustrating it is to strive in vain, I say in vain because it is likely that at this point they deserved happen to feel that way, but believe me then understand that things always happen for a reason and God’s time is perfect. Peace, love and justice for all

      • It’s hilarious seeing latinos/latina beauty queens cry “injustice” now. The tides are finally changing and they just can’t accept it. The nerve to talk about “unfairness” samantalang napakaraming beaucon editions in the past na palaging nilang dominated ang list of semifinalists/finalists just because they were “handpicked”, regardless of their performance, intelligence or personality. Sa ganda malamang pasok sila sa banga, but not everyone of them are. Ang masama pa, half, if not most of them are retokada to death. So magtigil nga sila puwede ba.

It’s unfortunate for them that most beauty contests kasi these days don’t bank on manufactured facial beauty alone. Most beauty organizations are looking for really well-spoken representatives that can help them widen their organization’s reach. Tapos na tayo sa kababawan Trump picks days – heto nakakatawa, kasi during that time political din naman ang pagpili sa kandidata pero wala ka namang naririnig sa kanila. Neknek nila no.

To add, most queens that have won beaucons recently have this aura of heartfelt sincerity around them, something that I’ve always found lacking in their latina queens (with exception of very few of them).

      • It sounds like she is attempting to build a “the world vs latinas” argument in pageantry. No dice!

Let this woman be reminded that Nicaragua, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Argentina, and El Salvador -5 hispanic reps- all made the top 16.

Also, since 1997, the MIO has crowned 14 Hispanics (Spain, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama and Ecuador). That is 14 of the last 20!

        Trying to play victim. HA!
Go suck on your pacifier lady! Crybaby! LOL

      • My god this Laura Spoya idiot is just one desperate attention seeker.

I just posted on her account that she is using easily fooled people on Instagram for attention.

        That’s the truth.

  2. Kylie was a heavy favorite to be the next Miss Universe Philippines. But BPCI knows better. they knew that Kylie will be the one who can bring back the MI crown to the Philippines.

She was well prepared, everything looked natural. hindi mukhang inaral talaga. Her speech was super pasabog!! sincere, on point and right there, the moment she said ‘Thank you’ after her speech, wala na panalo na!

I am so excited for her reign! OMG! congraaats!!

Oh, btw, sa IG ang daming nangba-bash sakanya ngayon. chineck ko lahat from Venezuela and Colombia (as in, again!)

they are saying na fraude daw and si Venezuela daw dapat manalo. Like hello!!!!

    • Let them sour grape to their gusto. After all, that is the natural and consequential act of the defeated. Since Kylie got the crown, we have nothing to say but good words to them. We have to spread love and positivity all over.

    • Sana hinde mag ala- Bea Rose ang reign nya. I remember before parang ngsabi si Bea na di daw sya masaya sa reign nya kasi parang konti work na nabigay sa kanya. I’m not sure sa exact words pero ganun yung thought.

      • Why drag Bea Rose Santiago in the issue? What’s your problem???>?>?????????????????????

      • Sorry, di ko ugali makipag away dito. I just want the best for Kylie. I mean no harm. I have no problem with any MI winner. I just remember Bea saying that on national TV. Again, no harm meant.

      • well, baka marami ding factor noon. marami ding nangyayari na hindi natin alam. but lookin at Edymar’s reign mukha namang may patutunguhan ito compared sa tinutukoy mo hehe

  3. HD video…Kylie’s overall performance & crowning moment plus a heartfelt message from the Queen:-) GO PHILIPPINES!

    • What I liked the most here is when Kylie came out on stage at 1:27 to 1:33. ‘Yung gandang ‘yun ni Russia biglang nawala nung lumabas na si Kylie. Iba ‘yung pagka-sopistikada niya dun! Winner!

  4. Sino yung naka gold sa kanan? Nag WTF yata ng Hindi si Nicole yung tinawag na 2nd runner up during MGI.

    • Hahahaha! So bitch that girl. In her back were Misses Brazil and Bolivia who were all smiles at her winning.

    C Edymar isang lapida hihihi

    C Kylie? Panyo hihihi

    • I love you, Madam Akemi.

I hope Madam Akemi considers visiting the Philippines when Kylie does her homecoming. If that happens, I’d like to give her a bouquet of flowers plus I’d make a “Welcome to the Philippines” tarpaulin for her. Char!

Madam Akemi’s MIO has been loyal to loving our reps since then.

Wahahaha

In fairness to her, may kontribusyon sya sa pagkapanalo ni Kylie! πŸ˜€

At walang makakatalo kay Hitler Einstein Rambutan… hahaha πŸ˜€

      • oo nga luv ko na si edymar kasi during the competition, fave niya talaga si kylie, may pic pa nga siya yung nag-ayos nung laylayan ng gown ni kyle πŸ˜†

    • Anung sabi ni edymar??? Sinadya kaya yon??? According sa 1 judges binoto nya peru but how about other judges??? Eh hinde lang naman sya ang judge. At isa pa. So kasalanan nya din.

  6. for the next edition of Puteri Indonesia, which will be the 2017 edition, sino kaya ang magsusuot ng traditional kebaya ng mga indo? si Kylie kaya? o ang MU2016?

    • @Mae, i do hope they do invite Kylie but sa nakikita ko na reaction 35 percent lang mabait yun iba maka react.Pero malay natin pag kumalma. Tutal kapitbahay natin yan

  7. I keep on watching Kylie’s over all perfomance in MI2016. From start to coronation. Goosebumps still. I dont know why, but iba talaga ang saya ko sa panalo nya. Sentimental favorite ko talaga sya umpisa pa nung BbP 2015.

  8. If fate would have it and Catriona Gray be declared Miss World 2016 on December 18, then we’ll have a month-long interlocking real Grand Slam titleholders for Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss World. If that ensues, Aces & Queens would then be the premier beauty pageant camp this side of the world, the universe rather, won’t ever forget.

Kudos to Jonas Gaffud and team for their benevolence training potential women to become our country’s pride, and, conversely, for their love of our country to which victory and honor are bestowed.

Bakit kaya wala ang 2015 MI First RU – Jennifer Valle of Honduras sa coronation night

      • @ miss tissa : Hello and good afternoon/evening/morning.

Sorry, I do not know where everyone is at.

        It did!

I saw the coronation last year on video. The thing DID latch on to her “semicalvo”. I could not believe it.

        But it DID…

  10. Nagkatotoo nga ang prediction ng fearless forecast posted on Aug.2016
    http://fearlessprediction.blogspot.com/2016/08/prediction-2016-miss-international-verzosa.html

Miss Kylie Verzosa, in this reading, represents a spirit of confidence and intellect, and a character of strength, energy and moving forward.

Kylie will be a favorite in the Miss International 2016 beauty pageant, not only to fans but to the organizers as well. I see an elderly man who regards highly of her and will help her win the international competition. In fact, many positive events from now on until the pageant will lean to her favor, which will boost her confidence even more as the pageant approaches.

This reading also warns her not to lose focus, which is shown here as her biggest fear. She needs not be too sensitive to critics, but instead take an objective look at what they have to say, and take up any learnings or opportunities that would be of benefit to her overall. It is extremely important that she let people help her, as she will need it, and she cannot do everything alone.

Miss Philippines will face a stiff competition in the pageant which she would find overwhelming, but she will rise to the challenge. This reading conveys a message that Kylie will be highly favored for the Miss International 2016 crown.

The experience and achievement will bring her a lot of opportunities in the future. I see her as a successful model, a businesswoman and eventually, a politician.

  11. Mexico’s Geraldine Ponce was such a stunner yesterday.
I thought that she will be the chosen one, but the speech sealed the deal for Kylie Minouge.

  12. In 6 years we’ve achieved a lot of pageant victories that took us decades to attain in the past. Indeed, we have even outranked Vebezuela as #1 pageant powerhouse in the world today. No small feat. Our winnings have also opened up the door to another type of beauty – Malay/Asian – distinct to Latina or European which has been the norm in the past. This is a testament to our dedication and perseverance, as well as the hard work being put by our queens and their handlers. Our neighbors should be grateful that their kind of beauty is being celebrated now (hint Indonesia) because of the road we paved. So thank you to our world class women and to everyone in the pageant industry like designers, MUAs, and photographers for giving us the means to celebrate our race. Now don’t we all deserve a toast? 😍

    • Tama ka Dawn. Filipinas have opened the door for non western beauty, not just Asia, since the 60s when only Filipinas consistently placed and our distinct Malay/Islander beauty is celebrated not just in pageants but in real life.

Filipina beauty is truly world class and keep representing Southeast Asian/Malay/Islander beauty internationally. Now people are aware that Asia is NOT just Orientals(Chinese looking), south asian(Indian looking) or middle eastern(Arab looking) but also Southeast Asian(Malay/Islander) like us. Truly distinct and unique.

Despite what you may see in SOME social media, our brothers in the rest of Southeast Asia are proud and happy in real life. I know for a fact that the recent winnings of our reps have truly redefined what our neighbours consider beautiful. You can start noticing this on their reps many of whom are now tanning.

  13. Notice the difference in the crown design of Precious and Bea at that of Melanie and Kylie πŸ˜€

Congrats Kylie! Hoping amd praying that you and Nicole will jumpstart the winnning streak of the Philippines πŸ˜€

    • Nicole did not win though…..so to be accurate Kylie is the one that jump started our winning streak for this pageant season. Cross fingers magkatotoo sana.

If i know, nathrethreaten sila kasi they haven’t been doing well since 2013….. Mucking year ng mga asians sa beauty pageants this time.

    • I think there’s a “changing of the guards” that happens in cycle. The glory days of Osmel is coming to an end and it’s time for someone with a different eye for beauty to take over the Venezuelan pageantry. In the Philippines, Jonas is just getting started.

    “Felice runner up
    Felice runner up
    Felice runner up
    Prospero ano y felicidad

    Sarap mang asar πŸ™‚

    • @ Shk. Ayesa’ : Good day / night (not sure where you are in the world right now. So I’ll play safe).

Ang pikon nga naman, laging talo.

But seriously, we should heed the blogger’s request to be on our best behavior. We do not hate Ms. Hwang, but the bashers who criticize without offering either explanation or recommendation.

Basta tayo, cool and classy pa rin.

      • Hi Andrew… sometimes we just need to “bully back ” for them to know that “what they are doing ” and “what they have done is wrong”.

Im not againts Indonesia -Felicia . Im againts Cocoy’s from being know all , as if he knows the world of pagent very well.

        Lets sing again πŸ™‚

  16. Now the A n Q has MU MW and MI crowns i think the other camps should level up .

3 alpha crowns in one year by a country …. 1 down 2 to go

  17. Disagree, Kuya Norms. Next year dapat back-to-back & back-front & back-side…. LOL.

Such a pleasure to wake up to good news about Kylie here in the U.S. Reminds me of when I woke up to my father’s text about Bea Santiago’s win just 3 YEARS AGO as you have noted. Philippine pageantry, like our 6th Miss International, has come a long way baby #relevanttalaga

Kylie has always been my sentimental favorite in this year’s class (no offense to the others). Her win reminds us just how far we have all come. Congrats to her and us all!!!

  18. O CIA ONE OUT OF TWO LANG ANG TAMA KO PERO YOU CANT DENY THE FACT THAT I ALMOST GOT THE TWO CROWNS RIGHT!! ABA NAGISING NA LANG AKO AT NANALO NA PALA ANG PINAS AND MY BET INDONESIA IS SECOND RUNNER UP! NOT BAD ESPECIALLY SA MGA NAGSASABING BABALINA SI FELICE!

CATRIONA IS BEAUTIFUL BUT STILL FAR FROM MEGAN! HAHA CIAO GYERA NA LANG ULIT TAYO SA MISS WORLD AT MISS UNIVERSE! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    • We also almost got 2 crowns. Nicole was 1st runner up in MGI, higher than the placement of Felice in MI. We predict better than you.

Beauty with no brains daw kasi ang lola mo. Chos!

    • There u are !!!!

Indonesia has Queen in MGI and 2 nd run in MI ( sheer luck )
Philippines has 1st run in MGI and Queen in MI

      Who s laughing now !!!!!

Told u – be careful for what u wish for !

    • @ cocoy : Good morning.

But then, naalala ko na nanalo pala ngayong taon si Karan Singhdole bilang Man of the Year.

Kaya lamang pa rin ang Filipinas.

Sige cocoy, karerahan tato. Ang saya-saya! πŸ™‚ Share ko lang. Huwag ka magalit, please. Thanks.

      • @luiskie : Good morning.

That’s the truth.

    • “…THAT WILL BE THE LAST TIME PHILIPPINES WILL WIN THIS YEAR!” What have you against sa Philippines? Lahat bet mo wag lang Pinas. Laki ng galit mo ah. Mga ganyang mentality at statement is Treason. Aba, anong klaseng pinoy ka?

      • he’s indonesia by blood, born and raised in the phil. kaya ang mukha niya mukhang tuod.

      • πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

        Hilarious…but that’s just wrong, Thomas… LOL

    • Hi beh nabuhay ka! Highblood si ateng! Check nyo ALL CAPS! Tago mo muna yang indo flag mo beh.

  19. For those following Global Beauties, it’s a new milestone. Haha. This, even without the Miss Earth rankings. Note: GB only takes the last 10 years into account, and specifically, Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational, and Miss Grand International.

    http://www.globalbeauties.com/blog/ranking/the-g2-ranking/

BREAKING NEWS: Philippines becomes the globeΒ΄s #1 beauty powerhouse in history!

OK, this is more exciting than Game of Thrones!! A Miss International victory and a 2nd place in Miss Grand International for the Philippines, plus VenezuelaΒ΄s having failed to confirm its status of favoritism in both competitions, put the Philippines right on the top of the Grand Slam Ranking for the first time in all times! It means that for the first time in history Philippines has become the #1 powerhouse in international pageantry, leaving the all mighty Venezuela in 2nd place (but still very close to the top, with less than 1 point difference). How will 2016 end? Can Philippines remain on top after Miss Supranational, Miss World and Miss Universe 2016 conclusion? Will Venezuela be back on top? It is pure adrenaline and excitement in our own beauty Game of Thrones!!

    • I don’t know, Pautwas…good comment…
      Venezuela is Venezuela.
HOWEVER, it is a little too early to tell but I am detecting a little “chink” in Osmel Sousa’s armor.
First, the pageant guru is 70 years old. Second, Donald Trump is no longer around to handpick his Latina faves into the semi-finals at MU
And third, Venezuela has not placed in the top 5 or top 3 since 2013 @ MU and since 2011 @ MW.

The latter is very very UN-Venezuela-like. Just saying…πŸ˜‰

      • Osmel/Venevision has supposedly lost all other franchises besides Miss Universe, so that also spells a major shake-up in pageantry. Jessica is his last Miss International .Who knows who will take up that franchise? He’s given up Miss Earth.

There is still some speculation about who is qualified/they will send for Miss Universe in January 2017 because of the new MUO ruling, and there’s a chance that Mariam may not be able to compete and Keysi might – though some are saying that Mariam might go to Miss World instead (if not Keysi’s runner-up Diana Croce), if Osmel/Venevision still owns the MW franchise. However, there are also conflicting stories saying that the MW franchise has gone to Televen.

I think it’s also a form of vindication because GB has been notoriously anti-Filipino/pro-Latina, so it must have taken a huge ounce of restraint for them to type those words.

    • I was wondering why the feud with ME is not yet resolved to date?

It could be a communication gap …

I knew the root of the problem but it remains unsolved for so long.
It would be great if ME is included in the ranking

  20. Congrats Kylie.

Ang advantage ng Pinas we have an oversupply of beauties. Ang aim naman natin ngayon is to have better strategies and how to play the cards well.

  21. Mga besh, naisip ko lang…since panalo naman tayo sa MI 2016 at expected na nating may chance na clapper tayo sa MI next year (based on how the reps of ph, pr and vz from 2014-2016 all were unplaced) at supportive naman sa pageants si sec. Wanda, why not mag-bid na lang ang philippines to host Miss International next year?

Diyos ko, I envision MI to be produced outside Japan when Kylie will be crowned and I think it is about to happen in reality.

  22. I think Kylie just got lucky. For me, the clear winner of this pageant should have been Indonesia. She has the beauty, brains and personality compared to Kylie. Congrats to Kylie, though. Nakakatawa lang yung fake eyelashes nya. Muntik na mahulog. #RealMissInternationalisIndonesia

  23. Filipino fans should cherish this time in Philippine pageantry. We are indeed at the golden era right now. Enjoy natin while it lasts!

    • Joanna Eden ane Nichole Manalo will ADD to the success of their BBP sisters to close out the year 2016.

Kylie’s win makes me even more super-excited for Catroina Gray’s shot in brininging home a 2nd MW crown.

Despite a controversial video, I truly wish MEP Imelda Schwiegart succeess at ME in a couple of days. Then, for Maxine Medina’s succees and quest for a b2b MU title in Manila to bring in 2017…

May honor, grace and humility be most evident to all of us FANS during this venture!

I believed Kylie would win, but now that a she did I still can’t believe it!
      BRAVO KYLIEπŸ€—πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ–’πŸ’š

      • I believe, and i mean that with all my heart that MAXINE MEDINA WILL DELIVER! 😘

  24. a lovely, lovely post Norman…yes, let us all be humble and magnanimous…its a good thing to be not only in pageantry, but in life..to all our queens, win or lose, thank you from the bottom of our hearts

  25. @Sunkist

Same here sunkist. Each of the 3 major pageants -MI. MW and MW- have their own stamp of style in crowning thier queens. MI’s style is that of crowning an international dignitary.

I have to say, Kylie’s MI crowning moment truly had the sense of a “coronation.”

    • not to mention the tiny crowns that they turn to keep them in place…wow…and the mikimoto crown with the ribbon to keep it from falling ( i find it to be the most beautiful of all of them)

      • I love the runner up crowns ng MI dahil nga dun sa iniikot sya to keep it in place! I’ve always wondered how that works!

And super like the all pearl mikimoto crown they’re using now. Super elegant and cohesive ang design compared to the one with the horses that lara and bea wore.

  26. Well, not specifically about Ms. Verzosa, but the MI pageant in general.

It has been denounced as boring, sedate, bare, and with only elevator music as entertainment.

But I like it! The formality, refinement, and unhurried progression. It very nicely reflects the graciousness and polish of its Japanese home. It possesses a palpable exclusivity – “mamayanin”, as we said a lot these last few days. A stark contrast to the garish extravaganza of MU or MGI that screams “OVERLOAD”.

I tried to get people around me today to be interested in this. But when they found out it was not MU, they merely declined with a casual “huwag na lang”.

I feel sorry for people who adamantly associate joy with loudness, flamboyance, and “being busy”.

Call me corny or old-fashioned. I don’t mind. Six stunning women won here. It can’t be so bad…

    • it was refreshingly calm and dignified. i feel the respect that they give to each contestants. it was so nice to see that at the front and center was kylie

  27. Kylie at backstage after crowning and before her first press interview πŸ™‚
    Misso: Any message to SMA
KV : Madame, do you like my crown …hihihi

  28. What a fitting tribute to Kylie and our queens ! Thank you – got so teary-eyed reading your post, Sir Norman ! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas πŸ™‚

  29. it’s the first time i’ve seen the MI coronation and i was really in awe of how ceremonious everything was. give it to the japanese to consider every little detail: each awardee was given ample stage time they deserve, white gloved ushers, the exchange of plaques, trophies, crowns and sashes, and i love how the lady had some kleenex ready for kylie to wipe her tears!

edymar was adorable in her pure joy in kylie’s win

arigato, japan for a lovely presentation

and definitely a big congratulations to kylie!

    • True. Miss International may not have the glitz and glamour of Miss Universe but it brings something different and uniquely its own to the table…austerity and formality. I loved this year’s presentation with the ballet performances. MI’s format and presentation will not be everyone’s cup of tea…those who need constant pasabog can watch Supra and MGI…but at least we still get to watch a pageant in MI. I’d take the “boring” format of MI over Miss World’s yearly graduation ceremony.

  30. I just cant get over how happy I am for Kylie and the continued success of the BbP reps since 2010!
