Last night was extra delightful for your blogger. It was not enough that I enjoyed seeing the Miss Earth 2016 candidates in their National Costumes and mixing with them like long lost girl friends afterwards, I also met up with Miss Supranational Germany 2016 Anja-Vanessa Peter. And to top it all off, I also got the chance to finally meet the warm and beautiful mother-daughter team of Jenny and Cloie Syquia. The former proudly watched and supported her relatively popular Miss Earth Sweden of a grown-up woman. And both are just too happy to finally reunite in a Miss Earth event after many weeks of pre-pageant activities which brought the younger Syquia all over the Philippines.

Anyone can tell how tight and special the bond is between the two. And if the buzz in the homestretch continues, Cloie might figure out well in the upcoming finals on October 29 where the successor of Angelia Ong will be crowned.

Some quarters are saying that Cloie is the closest thing to a Filipina going for a win or elemental placement in Miss Earth 2016 (although I will never discount the efforts of our host delegate). After all – while she is wearing the sash of Sweden – we all know that she is full-blooded Pinay with Jenny and actor Gabby Concepcion as parents.

But at the end of the day, whatever Cloie’s achievements are will be on her own merits as she has really stepped up in the game and can potentially be the next Miss Earth if she plays her cards right.

  1. sana sa miss universe na lang ipinadala ng sweden si cloie. or if only cloie is wearing a philippine sash. mas edukada mas may class at mas may breeding c cloie.

Ms.Sweeden need to spread her wings, although napansin din naman siya with some special award I think not enough she need to do a big moved like a dropping jaw gown, straight hair will be better.. for Ms . Philippines I think top 15 she’s not shining although she is pretty that’s it.. may b2b na tayo iba naman.. I congratulate ms.earth this year amazing, best edition ever!

  3. I’d like her to win because she seem to be really into the environmental awareness thing. Sweden is actually big on that, we have a lot to learn from them.

  7. Nakakatuwa naman ang mag-ina. Priceless Yung love ng isang ina sa anak.
    Pinakamataas na cguro yung Runner-up crown kay Miss Sweden and puwedeng magB2B2B ang Pinas kung maibabalik ni Imee ang ganda’t aura ng dating Imee sa national pageant.
    Ang napaka exciting na magyayari dyan ay last 2 standing sila Sweden at Philippines hihihihi.
