My Top 5 for Miss Intercontinental 2016

Five more just to complete a potential Top 10


It’s no longer a secret that to be able to find the Top 5 in Miss Intercontinental, any pageant predictor should be well-informed enough that you get the potential best performers from each of the continents that the competition is giving honor to – Africa, Asia/Oceania, Europe, North America and South America.

So in this regard , I am now sharing with you the five (5) ladies I am sensing as the members of the magic circle in the finals to be held at the Stein Studios tonight (or late afternoon in Manila because of the time difference).

From Africa, I picked Hildah Mabu of Zimbabwe because this lady has an engaging charm that can be easily projected in all her photos, plus the video interview inside the train that was uploaded prior.

From South America, Amal Karina Nemer of Venezuela is my choice. She may not hold a candle to the likes of Jessica Duarte or Stephanie de Zorzi, but sizing her up side by side the more than 60 ladies in Colombo, this woman has done enough to pin down a spot in the Top 5.

From North America, I zero in on Heilymar Rosario of Puerto Rico. This black beauty shines without really trying. Her smile alone is enough to light up a dimly-lit room and it’s no wonder she is almost always a permanent fixture in the Top 5 list of favorites and hot picks.

From Europe, Chloe Mary of England edged out the other contenders from her continent in my opinion. She exudes a sensuously powerful aura that has been mastered through years of pageant participation. Her face may not have camera-consistency, but I bet she comes off all-around as striking in person.

And from Asia/Oceania, I am firm in laying claim for that spot in favor of the Philippines’ Jennifer Hammond. Country-sash alone, this sweet lass is ripe for the picking. And on her own merits, I would say that she can zoom all the way to the top. She has elegance on top of a winsome appeal that will definitely help lift the brand out of the doldrums if she gets to be crowned winner.

Outside this quintet, I am citing five more ladies to possibly go all-out in the finals. They are Valeria Samehylieiwa of Ukraine, Attitaya Kunnalaphat of Thailand, Martha Leticia Suarez Briano of Mexico, Aarushi Sharma of India and host delegate Disna Edirirathne.

In the end, I really feel that this is the right time for the Philippines to win the crown. Thus….

Jennifer Hammond is my choice for Miss Intercontinental 2016

  3. Well for me, I have high hopes for Jen Hammond, Joanna Eden and Catriona Gray. MI, Sweden or Venezuela again, MU- so far Latinas are stronger than ever: Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica but Australia is in my top list. Maxine is sure to the finals.

  4. A win by Ms. Hammond tonight (2030H Manila time, I think; live stream) will make a certain Mr. Ryan Sy… ecstatic, at the very least.

    1st runner up in 2015,
    Winnerr in 2016?

  8. This one and Miss Grand International 2016 are my two best hopes who can bring home the crown.

    For the others:
    Miss Universe (Maxine) 4th or 5th but definitely top 5
    Miss Globe (Nicole) 1st ru but I do not see her as back-to-back to Ann
    Miss Supranational (Joanna) definitely top 5 but will not win
    Miss International (Kylie) This one is the hardest to forecast. On one hand, she can definitely be our next Miss International but now that a lot of the other contestants are getting a lot of exposure, my sense is that Sweden might take it all the way.

    Miss Earth (Imelda) definitely will not win ; possibly out of the top4 also but definitely top 8
    Miss World (Catriona) wow, if we repeat in Miss World, it would be the most exciting ever !
