Earlier in the day, a Press Conference was held at the St. Francis Shangri-la Place to formally announce the hosting of Miss Global 2016 in the country – the second consecutive time of doing so after the successful staging last year at Resorts World Manila.
Reigning Miss Global titleholder Jessica Peart of Australia flew to our shores and graced the event along with former Miss Global Philippines winners Candice Ramos and Catherine Almirante plus Miss Global Philippines 2016 Camille CJ Hirro and her court that includes Perlyn Ocampo, Sammie Anne Legaspi, Clarize Barrameda and Princess Garcia.
This time around, Miss Global 2016 will be bigger and more exciting with the full support coming from the country’s Department of Touris and the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines (FDAP). It is expected to welcome around 40-50 foreign delegates starting September 9, with the finals set for September 24 at the PICC Plenary Hall.
Host organizer Pauline Sofia Laping is encouraging everyone to give their full support to the hosting of the pageant in the country to make it a very successful one.
Here is part of the Press Release:
