Earlier at the lobby and poolside of the spanking new Hotel 101 on EDSA Extension and Macapagal Boulevard, the thirty (30) Official Candidates of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2016 were presented to members of the Press. It was a well-attended event as the venue was literally filled from four corners as the beautiful delegates paraded in their tasteful Brazilipinas swimwuits, introduced individually and allowed to get their moments in the spotlight to the delight of everyone in the audience. From the inner comforts of the spacious venue to the sunny atmosphere of the poolside area, cameras clicked endlessly as each of them projected well to get the attention of the media.
At the end of the photo-taking, Ganiel Krishnan (who was 2nd Runner-Up during Miss Manila 2016) was declared Darling of the Press. And aside from her, the ones who really stood out and are now considered early favorites for the crowns are Justine Mae San Jose of Calabarzon, Marielle Cartagena of Cebu, Michelle Thorlund of California, Dianne Irish Joy Lacayanga of Paniqui, Tarlac, Mayu Murakami of Japan, Joanna Marie Rabe of Zambales, Renelyn Deguit of Negros Island Region, Lynette Bradford of Melbourne, Petche Ann Vale of Bohol, Rianne Charlotte Kalaw of Batangas and Mary Theresa Erna Gomez of Tarlac.
The titles at stake are Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific International (early buzz hints that this one will definitely push through come October), Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International and the special Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities honor.
Mutya ng Pilipinas 2015 titleholders Leren Mae Bautista and Janela Joy Cuaton plus runner-up Brenna Cassandra Gamboa were also around to mingle with everyone. And the organizers – including President Jacqueline Tan, Admin Manager Mayenne Vijandre, PR Director Hemilyn Escudero-Tamayo and Maricel Ang – were really quite happy with the turnout.
Watch out for more special coverage features on Mutya ng Pilipinas 2016! 🙂
Congrats mutya ng Pilipinas 2016
medyo magulo yung mga nirerepresent na lugar…may city, province, region, state, country…buti walang nagrepresent ng PHILIPPINES.
Very funny. Lol. But seriously, why did the organizers expose the Mutyas to the sun? Dios mio, it was init kaayo / inita uy some hours ago. Taking the heat does not have to be literal, even with copious amounts of sunblock and even if it was just for a brief period of time. Pity the Mutyas!
