Emma Mary Tiglao: Should she give up her 4th Princess title for Bb. Pilipinas 2016? (Lower photos courtesy of Lito Caleon)
I have always seen Emma Mary Tiglao as an almost perfect fit for Miss International. So when she took part in Miss World Philippines 2015 more than a couple of months back, I temporarily gave up on the idea because it might be the route fated for her pageant dreams. But after finishing as 4th Princess in the said competition, my interest in this gorgeous Kapampangan
going for Bb. Pilipinas was immediately rekindled.
Should Emma take the risk of resigning from her MWP2015 placement to pursue a grander objective in Bb. Pilipinas 2016? Why not? There may be no clear confirmation yet, but I still believe that she stands a better chance of winning in the 6-in-1 nationals. Her glow onstage and even off- is unmissable. And it will only take a full interest on her part to follow the passion. She definitely has it if you ask me.
It won’t take long to find out if she will pursue a return to Bb. Pilipinas. Application and screenings should begin again late next month. And I will be more than happy to see her in that mode all over again. 🙂
I’ve always seen this girl as a good fit for Miss International
Ria Rabajante during her second and latest Bb. Pilipinas attempt
During Bb. Pilipinas 2015 last April, Ria Rabajante – pinned as Binibini 3 – made her second appearance as an Official Candidate. She was already 25 back then. And just two days ago, she turned 26 – the ceiling age limit of Bb. Pilipinas. And you know what that means. She only has the 2016 edition as her one final chance to try for a crown in the nationals.
Ria really wants to give it a third try. She is quite firm about this more than anything else. And proof positive that she is serious is the latest development (as relayed to me by someone close to her) that she has decided to switch camps in an effort to see how she can be transformed by new handlers. A much better version, if you will. From R-L’s Angels, she is now reportedly deep in training with one of the two leading groups.
I am very keen in finding out how Ria will be packaged differently. This girl has got the brains, charm and poise to nail a crown. Who knows, 3rd time could be a charm for her. And Bb. Pilipinas 2016 will be her make-or-break turn.
Good luck, Ria! 😉

Air, Earth, Water and Fire for 2016 (Art layout by Jerome Aquino Caducoy)
Right after the long Holiday break, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and her elemental court will buckle down to the cause they have been originally chosen for – protecting Mother Earth. Miss Air Dayanna Grageda, Miss Water Brittany Ann Payne and Miss Fire Thiessa Sickert will work with our Queen to promote and further the meaningful projects for the environment.
And this could be a really special group of winners. With the able and active leadership of Angelia, they can possibly accomplish more in terms of projects and undertakings. In fact, I believe that she has already bonded close with both Dayanna and Brittany (whom she fondly calls “Hangin” and “Tubig”) while in Vienna so they can already set their minds well on what to successfully put into action in early 2016. Thiessa (“Apoy”) has also grown closer with her new sisters.
In the meantime, I wish all four ladies to have a fresh and productive start for 2016.
Happy New Year, Miss Earth, Air, Water and Fire!
A nice holiday greeting from Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong
Is 2016 the right time for Athena to become a Binibini? (Photo credit: Lito Caleon)
It’s always a pleasure to get unexpected encounters with this sweet young thing. Athena Catriz is very gracious and ready to flash her pearly whites with a smile so engaging that you can’t help but pull her aside for either a small talk or longer chit-chat.
Athena has already had the chance to represent the country in an international beauty pageant. She was Miss Summer International Philippines 2014 and went on to place 3rd Runner-Up in Miss Summer International hosted in Barranquilla, Colombia much earlier this year.
The more interesting question is if she will indeed make good with her plans of going for more pageant prestige by signing up for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. I wouldn’t mind at all. She has this very Filipina beauty and charm with a knockout figure that has been well-developed in all her serious gym trainings. Her communication skills in English are more than creditable, articulate to a nice extent even.
Let’s see. I need another surprise encounter with Athena one of these days just to get that final confirmation. 😉
Another potential contender for Bb. Pilipinas 2016: Sasha Tajaran
Now here is a Cebu-trained Romblon native being groomed for Bb. Pilipinas 2016, I was told. If and when I get to see her flying off to Manila next month, then the feelers are turning out to be true. And if memory serves me right, I already saw a picture of her training with the other potential joiners of KF Cebu in next year’s nationals.
Sasha is Maria Fee Tajaran on the dotted line. She is a photographic model for some of the more notable lensmen in the Queen City of the South, my Russian friend Artem Levy included. Some of you might even remember her as joining last year’s Miss Tourism World Philippines search. But that was a relatively forgettable stint, if you ask me. She was still less polished during the time and took part just to get a taste of the bigger beauty competitions here in Manila.
But Sasha has been transformed now. The beast mode may still be lingering in the background, but she has the potential to step it up and lock horns with the other notable (and whispered) applicants of Bb. Pilipinas 2016.
Watch out for more of Sasha in the weeks to come! 🙂
Her name is Maria Fee Tajaran. Call her Sasha for short.
Maria Gigante: Cebu’s best bet for Bb. Pilipinas 2016?
If the buzz coming from my reliable sources are to be followed, the beautifully exotic Maria Gigante could be one of Cebu’s prime bets for Bb. Pilipinas 2016. The girl has been doing several photoshoots the past few months that all I’ve been waiting is for the extremely busy December pageant season to cut me some slack and find time to feature this gorgeous lady who is both warm and well-spoken.
And the hype for Maria couldn’t have come at a better time. In fact, she could be one of the first to openly express an interest in joining the 2016 beauty fray. And KF Cebu is not amiss in preparing her for the sweet opportunity. With Bb. Pilipinas now offering six (6) titles at stake, the beeline for applications at the Araneta Center could be longer than usual. The chances of winning a national title has just gotten better, especially if BPCI will stick to its usual number of Official Candidates.
Watch out for more on Maria Gigante in the weeks to come. 🙂
Flash that winning smile, Maria!
You’ve seen it several times by now. In fact, you may already be able to recite all the lines of our Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach without a skip.
Watch it again tonight.
ABS-CBN will air an encore telecast of Miss Universe 2015 for those who might have missed it or want to watch the whole telecast for the nth time. 😉
Here’s the plug.
