  1. What is the real reason behind all these talent transfers from GMA7 to ABS-CBN? It is really surprising because they come in rapid succession … Isabelle Daza, Kyla, Jay-R, Marvin Agustin, Jolina Magdangal, etc. … and now Bela Padilla.

    • For continuous projects, or a more attractive network contract, imo. In the case of Bela, she has been mulling on the transfer for a long time now.

  2. I am not an avid TV viewer but I did watch MHL. It was very tame to say the least (compared to QAF) but it sent the message loud and clear of the realities in life that gay men are just like your average Joe on the block, except that they love men as well.

It also points out to all that to be gay, you don’t have to look like Vice Ganda or act like a parlorista (no offense meant to all gay parloristas or Vice Ganda) but it definitely removed the stereotype that gays are effeminate and girly.

Looking at the pictures above, I say that this program is also meant to address stereotypes that for a girl to be a lesbian, she has to act and look butch and all manly. Indeed, I know a lot of lesbians who are sexy, beautiful and act like how women should, except that they love women as well.

Thank you GMA for educating the country. May you find success in this program as well.

  3. “The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it. It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who, above all else, desire power. But they were, all of them, deceived, for another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a Master Ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all.” – Galadriel, LOTR
