Last night, crowns for male pageants finally made its way to the heads of the winners of Mr. Republic of the Philippines 2015. And instead of sporting designs that would distract the audience from the actual wearers, creator Marvin Marasigan Mañalac (of Marvin Creates) opted to come up with a laurel-type of head adornment which did not diminish their masculine appeal. On the contrary, it enhanced their images of victory, in my opinion.
What do you think, dear readers?

Marvin Marasigan Mañalac has been making beautiful crowns for different local beauty pageants for a number of years now. Most recently, he did the one worn by Binibini 17 Brenna Cassandra Gamboa during the Bb. Pilipinas 2015 Fashion Show before finally unveiling the ones he was commissioned to create for Mr. Republic of the Philippines.
Reject, reject, reject!!!!!
the crowns are fine. just fine. nothing spectacular. i think they can have better designs for the crown.
the sashes are really disturbing!! nagmumura lang teh? di pwedeng liitan po? LOL
sana ganito ang peg o..
Ito na ba ang mga winners? Susmaryosef. Anyway, wala rin nman mapili sa ibang kandidato.
tutal may crown na, sana tinanggal na lang nila ang medals, trophies, bouquet at lootbags, at ang mga sash, nilakihan pa sana nila konti, sobrang liliitkasi… 😀
Loved the crowns!
The crowns/laurel wreaths are fine…the winners…meh…
The crowns are fine. They actually look good.
But as I mentioned in my previous rant, I was bothered by the LARGE sash, the ribbonettes on the trophies, the pink bayong and the very tacky bouquet.
Thus my attention was unnecessarily diverted from a sincere appreciation of the crowns to the utter disdain of tackiness galore.
Going back to crowns, I guess Misters of the Philippines squandered the bragging rights of setting the trend by truly crowning the kings. I have seen pictures of those designed by Edwin Uy. Those were also nice.
At any rate, I commend Marvin Manalac for the appropriately beautiful and elegant crowns fit for the kings. I could have had appreciated these crowns fully if not for the ribbonnettes, the LARGE sash, the pink bayong and the tacky bouquet.
Ok I have ranted for the last time. Time to move on.
