Why not? I’m sure you can. That’s the reason for our Prediction Contest – to see who has the best and most accurate forecast for the Top 3.

Personally, I am confident of my Top 5. But you can never tell a surprise performer who will just slip in and topple my choices. It would be wise to insure Misses South Africa Rolene Strauss and India Koyal Rana, though. They have already occupied the unmovable spots on top. And Miss Philippines Valerie Weigmann? She may be a sentimental choice, but a worthy one at that. Our girl has prepared long & hard for the competition and is not about to be simply defeated by the thought of a back-to-back win being way too impossible to achieve. Either she will cave in to the kind of pressure she has no control over or the other possibility might happen. Miss England, being the host delegate, could be given the advantage by the MWO. Carina Tyrell is no pushover. And Julia Morley might feel that a royal placement is long overdue for the country she represents. Homecourt advantage is no longer the issue for consideration here. She is just as deserving. And methinks the final speech would be very crucial.

Here now are the fifteen (15) other candidates in my Top 20 and who could fill in spoiler roles.

Personally, my Top 3 would be the ladies above. I have fixed Miss Philippines as the 2nd Princess and either Koyal Rana or Rolene Strauss will win Miss World 2014 and 1st Princess or switch places.

Let me put on my Julia Morley hat now. If I were the MWO Chair, there are three (3) delegates I would love to see ultimately winning the blue crown. And I am saying this outside the anticipated back-to-back win for the Philippines. Rolene Strauss of South Africa, Koyal Rana of India and Carina Tyrell of England comprise the trio of possible successors to Megan Young that would sit well with most everyone inside the silent walls of the MWO.

Back to myself, I wouldn’t mind seeing one of them snatching the blue crown. Of course, I would love more than anything else to see Valerie Weigmann of the Philippines replacing Miss World 2013. But if signs are glaringly pointing us to the direction where rewarding the country with a second consecutive victory is a particularly remote option (despite whatever strong efforts our bet has shown to the organization), then I have no qualms endorsing Rolene Strauss and Koyal Rana as my #1 and dangerously close #2 picks, respectively.

Call me too Rolene-ified or Koyal-crazy, but if Miss Philippines Valerie Weigmann is not fated to win Miss World 2014, I can only see Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss or Miss India Koyal Rana as the best choices to become the next wearer of the blue crown.

Now if you ask me who could possibly be that 6th member of the Top 6 and winner of the People’s Choice votes? At this point, my hunch is that Miss Thailand Nonthawan Thongleng is hard to beat according to my reliable sources. Gut-feel tells me that her supporters may have opted to put a concerted effort to pour everything in the Miss World App voting (regardless of the cost and everything) and would rather see their bet take a guaranteed spot in the final segment of the coronation night and take a more well-meaninged finish.

Without a doubt, the finals of Miss World 2014 is eagerly-awaited around the globe.

I want a good show. I want to be entertained. But I also want to be happy with the results. I want to have something extra to celebrate about for Christmas. 😀

  2. I bet everyone here submitted an analytical prediction to Norman instead of a sentimental prediction. As I’ve said before, Valerie must be sacrificed to clear the path to Miami by letting SA claim the blue crown. Let it be done as fate dictates!

    • If SA wins. It’s one less problem for MJ. BUT there’s A LOT of extremely strong latinas this year… Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and more! :(((

I check facebook a lot of filipino keep fighting for voting nakakatuwa lang kase sila yung hindi nag misso, hindi nagsash basta they support kase they are filipino and valerie representing Philippines! sa mga nagaaway magsiboto nalang kau! bow ako sa tantolan solid sila! Pero iam still hoping val will get this! I will not participate with tito norms predicting games this year! I just want to concentrate with my prayer to help and guide valerie on her journey!

      • Hey, yes I ‘d met her in person. She is in the same university as my younger sister, doing same degree but my sister is doing 2nd year!!! She is very humble and amazingly stunning. Our hope is that she wins or nothing so that she can compete in miss universe.

      Currently, the only frontrunning country and former UK colony/commonwealth who never won a crown is Guyana who was trained by our very own Gouldian Atelier.

      • I love the BWAP of Guyana but the fact that she was trained by the Beauty with a Tortoise Team makes me cringe and makes me wish that she settle for a semifinalist finish. Team Tortoise should stop training girls competing for pageants – be it local or foreign.

Humakot siya ng sangkaterbang special at major awards sa national pageant natin pero di natin na realized na sa ibang bansa, isang ordinaryo lang ang fezlak niya.   21. I accepted the fact that Val is not favorite to win Miss Worl this year. However, their blatant effort to exclude her on some, if not all areas whom she should have rightfully conquered and belong, is a great injustice i absolutely can not swallow.

    Because of this, please let us join hands to help catapult Val to the top 10 finalists by voting more for her. That way, if they still ignore her at that stage, they will experience the power of diarrheal feeling of trying to vote off a deserving candidate…….let them ignore Val infront of the million of viewers so the world will see them do a great injustice!

Height doesn’t matter much…matangkad ka nga, lethargic naman ang dating mo, wala rin. Kung mas gusto naman nila ang has batang candidate para manalo, bait pa inilagay sa range na up to 27 year of age ang qualification? Sana nilagay na lang nila na 18-23!
