courtesy of OfficialMissWorldSome people think that being Miss World – despite the constant ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ thrust – is all glamour and traveling around the globe. Well, that’s true. There is the glam part, but only a small percentage compared to the entirety of responsibilities. She needs to look fabulous during fundraising events after all. And the traveling? It is imperative. How else can she fulfill her purpose inside a condo in London?
But in my opinion, one thing that sets Miss World apart is that she cannot, will not and has never been fake in reaching out to others and bringing sincere service to the underprivileged. A true blue-crown wearer should really have the heart to help without pretensions.
Former Miss World Alexandria Mills of the US was able to prove that to Julia Morley during her 2010-2011 reign. She may not have the most flashy stints, but whenever she did her global mission, one can definitely see the good soul this woman has.
May the next winner be the same, but with the extra beautiful noise that can be heard by people around the world. 🙂
