It is really sad that your fellow countrymen are the one who put you in shame.

We’ve been #discriminated last night on a club that supposedly my friend will be having her birthday celebration. Most of the time I wear mini shorts or dress pa nga ‘pag pumupunta doon. Yes, there are times na mahaharang ako but after a few minutes of discussions, they will let me in. But last night was totally out of line. Last week we also went to that club and I wore a short black dress. They just checked my bag without any question and I went in. I don’t really know what was the problem last night. Well ‘yung isa naming friend is naka short dress but willing naman sila ng bestfriend niya which is the birthday celebrant na mag-change outfit para makapasok na kami at para masunod yung “dress code” nga daw nila.

But then as we go to the entrance, ini-insist talaga ng mga bouncers na hindi daw talaga pwede. My friend handed me her blazer para ‘di na nga ko sleeveless. Then they checked my bag and ask for my ID. Kaloka! Wala akong dalang ID so sinabi ko wala. Mukha ba akong menor de edad?! Last week wala naman silang hiningi sa akin. So ano ba talaga? Dumating ‘yung head nila at sinabing hindi daw pwede.

KUNG GUSTO KO DAW MAKAPASOK, BURAHIN KO DAW MAKE UP KO! “CROSS DRESSER” DAW KASI AKO. WTF!

Malinaw na ‘di alam ni sir ang difference between a crossdresser and a transgender. I felt so humiliated. To make the long story short, we cancelled our reservation on that club and moved to a more open/accepting and better club. Sobrang nakakasama talaga ng loob. #SorryPRIVE. Ang dami pang club diyan sa The Fort. Kudos to those clubs who don’t care about the outfit of their party goers regardless of their sexuality. Anyway, we had a blast last night and we enjoyed it a lot. Thank you so much Anne. Happy Birthday once again. One month celebration daw haha!

This is really sad but I’ll tell you my piece. Even inside our group, may inequality. Kapag ordinaryong ateng ka, follow the rules. Kapag lets say prominente ka, walang ganyan. Go inside!

Oh well, hindi ako tatalak for discrimination.

  2. Imagine a back to back win for Miss World… and possible Miss Universe win for 2014… tapos dito gaganapin ang MW2015 and MU2015… 2015 will be a great year for the Philippines!

  3. Tito Norms, chika lang, El Nido won as the best beach just recently.

On a sidenote, sana lang ang DOT e hindi nagkukuripot sa marketing budget for promoting Philippines. OA sila sa kabaratan to be honest.

      • Make that MORE improvements. Sumasakit ulo ko pag government ang kailangan ko tawagan and kadeal sa work lol

  4. i hope that MU will be held here in MNL next year. MJ crowning her successor. hehe claim it.

  5. Philippine visit is already on my 2015 itineraries!
I don’t mind the 14 hour flight plus 4 hour layover, then another 4 to touch down in Manila.
That’s how far I am from more fun in The Philippines!
    Can’t wait!!

  6. A breath of fresh air. Beautifully written Kuya Norms. You can be a beauty connoisseur and tourism official at the same time. We have some of the best, if not the best beaches and nature wonder the world can offer. According to the grapevine one of the major events for Visit the Phils Year 2015 is hosting either Ms Universe or Ms World. Fingers crossed!
