With clear confirmation from the Japanese organizers that Miss International 2014 will definitely take place in Tokyo, Japan from October 27 to November 11, it would be safe to say that Bb. Pilipinas-International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti will be the first from the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens to wage a beauty battle abroad.
At this juncture, she is in the heat of training and gym workouts to make sure that she is 100% ready the moment she sets foot in the host city.
And trainer John Cuay is literally keeping our bet on her toes 24/7.

Bianca is fully aware of the tough assignment she is tasked to accomplish – a 6th Miss International crown in a back-to-back scenario. The mere thought is enough to discourage the weak-willed. But not our girl. She is always pumped up and optimistic of her chances. There simply is no room for uncertainty.
By the way, the Miss International 2014 Coronation Night on November 11 will be held at HITEN Main Banquet Hall of Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa.

Vina Openiano and Christopher Matecki are the Grand Winners of Bodyshots Philippines 2014
Vina Openiano and Christopher ‘Sin’ Matecki came out victorious during the Bodyshots Philippines 2014 finals at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort & Casino.
The win is sweeter for Vina who took part in both Mutya ng Pilipinas and Miss World Philippines but with less success last year. This time, she gave it her best to finally win the title in the country’s biggest model search. Christopher, on the other hand, was overjoyed that he came out on top and nosed out earlier favorite Jhon Mark Murcia. He actually came to the Philippines just for a vacation and found himself being eased into the modeling world. And now this.

By the way, both Christopher and Vina were also named Mr. & Miss Bodyshots Solaire before the final announcement.

Congratulations to both winners! 😀
Britt Roselyn Rekkedal, 22, Mutya ng Nordic 2014
One of the aspirants from the overseas Filipino communities in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 is 22 year-old Chef Britt Roselyn Rekkedal who happens to be the reigning Mutya ng Nordic.
Born to a Norwegian father and a Filipina mother, she also works as a fashion/photographic model on the side. She dances and kickboxes as hobbies and enjoys expressing her views about Politics.
For her trip to Manila, Britt is also looking at the possibility of pursuing a modeling career locally. Unless, of course, Mutya ng Pilipinas gets to sign her up first as its 2014 winner, in which case she will have to fulfill the responsibilities that come with the crown.
Best of luck in the competition, Britt! 🙂

The casting for the Philippines first 4-in-1 male pageant is on!
This could be the closest thing to a male version of Bb. Pilipinas in the country. And I mean a pageant that will seek to elect the country’s next Official Representatives to four (4) competitions abroad, namely, Mister International (to be held in Korea), Mister Global (to be hosted by Thailand), Mister Tourism International (scheduled in Panama) and Mister Model International (to be chosen in the Dominican Republic). This is going to be a big one, I reckon.
Casting is underway. Interested applicants (meeting the age and height qualifications above) are advised to send their intentions of joining the search via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Name, age, height and contact numbers should be clearly indicated in the letter plus recent photos (close-up and full body).
All the successful entries will be judged to know which ones will be called for a Personal Interview Callback set for July 5.
Finals night will be on September, 2014. More details will follow soon.
Lara Hirshenson is Mutya ng Pilipinas-US East Coast 2014.
During Miss New Jersey 2014
Just when every beautiful Fil-Americans in the US East Coast are eager to take part in Miss Philippines Quest USA 2014 for Miss World Philippines, here comes someone who opted for another beauty pageant.
Lara Hirshenson, a Miss Philippine Fiesta USA titleholder back in 2011, will be participating in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 as the representative of the Filipino Community of the US East Coast. And aside from a beautiful face and a 5’7″ frame, she is arriving in Manila with excellent academic credentials, having graduated Summa cum Laude from Farleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Mathematics.
Earlier in the year, 25 year-old Lara bannered Boonton during the Miss New Jersey 2014 (won by Emily Shah) state competition. She did not win that one, but has earned enough confidence and experience to move on to Mutya ng Pilipinas.
Good luck, Lara! 🙂
The gems (which just arrived from the US) that will be used to adorn the crown of Miss Grand Philippines 2014.
The venue for today’s NCR and GMA screening
Starting at 1:00PM today, the organizers of Miss Grand Philippines 2014 – led by its tireless head John de la Vega – will be conducting the 1st Callback Screening of applicants of Miss Grand Philippines 2014 from NCR and GMA at The Hub in Kilometer Zero Bar & Cafe in Luneta Park. It would be quite interesting to see who will show up and formalize their intentions of joining the inaugural search.
Just so you know, I spoke with a couple ladies from the House of JDV and was told that they are not allowed to join in order to avoid any conflict of interest in the proceedings. It only means that we shall get to see beauties from other camps, plus a good number from independent talent scouts and unaffiliated ones.
I will be keeping an eye on today’s activities. 😉
If only all four of them ended up fighting for Miss World Philippines 2014.
But the dream quartet won’t happen anymore after Patrizia Lucia Bosco decided to go the Mutya ng Pilipinas route instead.
Also, the possibility of Alexa Kirby taking part in Miss World Philippines 2014 is still up in the air and will only be known by July 12 if she successfully clinches the Miss Philippines Quest USA 2014 title in the New York finals. At any rate, Dominique Ivory would also be a worthy bet of the Fil-Am community.
For now, let’s be glad that Valerie Weigmann and Lorraine Kendrickson are already confirmed for enlisting.
