And so, the sisterhood of national beauty pageants in the country has increased in number with the formal entry of the upcoming inaugural search for Miss Grand Philippines 2014. This will serve as a prelude to finding out who will represent the Philippines in the 2nd edition of Miss Grand International 2014 scheduled in Bangkok, Thailand later in the year.
Franchise owner and beauty queen-maker John de la Vega has started to pool all his resources to make this beauty competition a successful one. And by the early looks of it, he appears to be headed for an excellent staging with all the sponsorships he has been getting so far.
Screenings and announcement of official candidates will happen starting June, with pre-pageant activities getting underway come July leading to a scheduled finals night by August. Ali Forbes, who placed 3rd Runner-Up in MGI2013, will crown the winner.
Looks like we’ll be busy following more than two beauty contests in the coming months. Aside from Miss Grand Philippines, there will be Miss World Philippines and Mutya ng Pilipinas to keep us on our toes. 😉
