If the silent reports are true, this needs to stop now!
I thought that pageant bullying has not invaded our shores in full force just yet. But I was wrong. It has slowly crept like a pungent odor in the dressing room, the backstage and places where restricted entry should have been fully enforced. Mind you, I am not referring to the usual pageant sabotage situations here. The ways and methods have sharply levelled up. And quite hurtfully, I must add.
I am not in a position to divulge specifics at this point. But let it be known that I am all for fair and square competition. There should be no room for misguided attitude, ganging-ups, careless whispers and unacceptable goading. The reports I have been receiving so far need to be addressed. As in now. Even before things get worse than they already are.
I am just thankful that our last biggest national pageant was spared (or at least incidents were kept to the barest minimum). Perhaps, the organizers made sure that no flies were caught in the ointment.
P.S. Please don’t ask me to name names. I cannot go that far. Just understand where the concerns are coming from. For now.
Rohaibie Rennie is the new Miss Intercontinental New Zealand.
If you thought Arielle Garciano was the only candidate of Filipina descent who won in the recently-concluded Miss World New Zealand 2014, then be amused that her 1st Runner-Up and now Miss Intercontinental New Zealand is also one.
Rohaibie Rennie will also represent the Kiwis abroad and she will be joining our very own Kris Tiffany Janson who will be in Germany for Miss Intercontinental 2014. It seems like there is a renewed spark of interest in Filipinas to take part in global beauty pageants.
Let’s see who will shine more. The homegrown queen or the foreign-bred counterpart? These are indeed exciting times for Pinays in the world of pageantry. 😀
Instead of noticing Monique's Resort Wear, one can't help but look at the taller than platform heels she had on her feet.
Indeed, the heels gave Monique a real boost in group shots.
Oops, Bianca just stepped on Monique's Resort Wear.
At least, Monique (2nd from right) wore the official heels during the swimsuit show.
It’s interesting. I’m referring to the pair of really tall platform heels Monique Manuel of Dinalupihan, Bataan wore during the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Resort Wear Competition. She must have been given an extra long garb by her designer and had no choice but to use the same.
Of course, it boosted her height when posing for group shots. Although in the third photo above, her blue attire must really be so looong that Bianca Paz of Gapan City accidentally stepped on her hemline.
Anyways, I wanted to start my week right so I opted to share these images just to put a grin or a snicker in everyone’s face. 😉
The MPE2014 Candidates travelled to Antique via a plane of the AFP.
It was a quick trip to Antique for the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 candidates when they were airlifted to the province of Antique by an AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) plane for a 2-day visit that saw them participating in a beach styling challenge aside from the usual environmental activities like tree-planting and cleaning. They were also able to visit a couple of the local tourist sights and tried some of the unique food fares of the place.

(L-R) Angelie Ocampo, Jamie Herrell and Margie Alatan were voted Top 3 in Resort Wear during the competition in Hotel Pontefino.
It’s summer. So when you are young, beautiful and shapely, what do you exactly wear when going to the beach or a resort without necessarily splashing in the water and getting your look spoiled or dripping wet?
Well, the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 candidates showed everyone the likeliest outfits to stand out in the heat of the sun during the pageant’s Resort Wear Competition-cum-Swimsuit Fashion Show at Hotel Pontefino last Friday night.
As always, there were those whose designers were more than playful in dressing up their assigned ladies with unique get-ups as shown in the bottom row of the photo grid above. And then there were some who actually earned high marks on the judges’ scoresheets and were given Gold, Silver and Bronze in the end.
Kudos to Jamie, Margie and Angelie for wearing the best-looking resort wear ensemble among all contenders. 😉

Venus Raj for 2GO Travel Magazine
The peak of her spotlight may have already lapsed last 2010, but Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2010 and Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-Up Venus Raj continues to shine. In fact, she manages to keep her trim and sexy self up to now. The enviable waistline has never changed. What’s more, the naturally warm personality remains intact.
By the way, since we’re in the subject of 2GO Travel, you may want to join their promo and win a sea cruise to Cebu, Bohol or Boracay. Just click on the LINK or the image below to try your luck.
How about sending a professional model like Marx Topacio for Mr. World Philippines 2014?
There is something in the way Marx Topacio looks at the camera that hypnotically pulls you in. His eyes speak volumes, just as his body language projects the tempered sensuality that never insults the senses. This professional model (a proud member of PMAP) has been part of the fashion industry for many years now. Of late, he has taken into showbiz projects by appearing in ABS-CBN teleseryes plus his debut film participation.
A former college hardcourt superstar, the 26 year-old is of the right age to consider joining Mr. World Philippines 2014. This could be a hard-to-come by opportunity he shouldn’t pass up on. Who knows? He might just be the type Ms. Cory Quirino is looking for. 😉
