Venus Raj speaking in front of a full-packed venue during the Youth Convention hosted by the Atty. Francis Padua Papica Foundation in Naga City.
Years after Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2010 and Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-Up Maria Venus Raj brought the Philippines pageant honor in Las Vegas, she is now gazing at more charity and advocacy-oriented activities.
During a chat we had early last year, I remember her saying that she sincerely wants to put up a foundation for the education of streetchildren. So I was no longer surprised when she turned out to be one of the speakers during the Youth Convention organized by the Atty. Francis Padua Papica Foundation and attended by thousands of youth leaders from all over the country. Along with the Hon. Leni Robredo, mentor Jonas Gaffud, fellow Beauty Queen Ariella Arida, actor Benjamin Alves, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, Jim Paredes and more, she spoke to the participants about her journey to success and inspired them to do everything to the best of their abilities to rise above the challenges today.
This speaking engagement should help Venus jumpstart her noble plans for the future. Her leadership skills cannot be ignored. And in just a few years from now, I wouldn’t be surprised if she joins politics in the Bicol Region, if not put into motion her long-cherished dream of putting out-of-school youth inside the classroom.
Your blogger is behind Venus in whatever good endeavor she plans to accomplish in the years to come. 🙂
Thanks, HRH, for sharing the link to the group photo below. It clearly showed that Maria Venus is still looking very good after nearly four years. She is truly the lady luck for Miss Universe Philippines.
On her left is obviously the standout amongst A&Q aspirants. She definitely has no competition but her own self. She is the only one that can make the other aspirants in MU2014 look average. A sure Miss Universe 2014!!!

To all Beauty camps;

Having come from abject poverty, and rising triumphantly from it, Venus Raj will always be an excellent role model to the youth not only of the Philippines but to the whole world. It is heartwarming to know that she vigorously continues her advocacy of educating the street children. That’s what a true beauty queen is all about– continuously radiating her inner beauty to empower the underprivileged and marginalized even after her reign. She continuous to live up to MU’s essence of “confidently beautiful”!
Wow
In as much as I really want the one and only Maria Venus Raj to represent the Philippines in Miss World 2014, I am afraid that she is no longer eligible because she would turn 26 on the 7th July. If only her birthday falls in December, pasok na pasok sana siya sa banga. Sayang!!!
Wow!!!
Venus Raj will be the next Miss World!!!
I hope ABS CBN gives her another chance
I am intrigued… What do you mean with that statement?!?
Venus used to work for ABS CBN . They did not renew her contract.
Thanks for the update, Fabs, and good mornin’!
ikaw na manay Venus! mauragon na marhay! bicolanang mabooton giraray! Thanks for featuring her Tito Norms! maw-ot ko na magpadagos an pagabot kan grasya saimo Manay Venus!
I don’t speak Bicolano, Trish, but what you wrote sounds good. 😉
sorry for writing in our native language tito Norms, i just felt like its mas may feelings if its in bicol terms. But let me translate it Tito Norms.
Ikaw na Ate Venus! Magaling na tunay! A very kind hearted bicolana indeed. I wish that you will be blessed more Ate Venus.
She’s indeed blessed because she knows how to pay it forward and give back when needed 🙂
Now this is a realy Binibini. Someone who, even after her reign, focuses on what really matters.
Not all talk. Not for show. Not fake just to win a crown. Awesome job, Venus! You made me love you even more.
Tumpak ka diyan kuya norms, puwedeng puwede I push kay Venus ang “beauty with a purpose” title din, bukod sa tinapos niya ang drought years ng Binibining placement sa miss universe, education advocacy naman ang focus ni ate venus for the street children, di malayong pasukin din niya ang mundo ng politika, tapos na ba siya sa graduate degree niya na Social work sa university of the Philippines? Kahanga hanga ka Venus Raj!
How old is she? If she is not over the age limit, I’ll root for her to become the country’s rep to Miss World 2014!
My same Wish (in reverse ) for Gwendolyn to re-join BP hoping she could represent our country to the Miss U
Ayaw mo talagang magpatalo… suko na ako. Very soon ikaw na! 😉
You are…..:)
