  1. By the way she answered the questions, i can sense na medyo mataas ang confidence niya. Pero parang too much. Even though alam niyang maganda siya and trained dapat di niya pinagmamalaki. Quiet ka nalang and be humble sumagot. Medyo strong ang sagot niya and i think that’s too much personality. Pero i like her, parang pinabatang imee marcos.

    • Somehow I am intrigued whenever Imee Marcos’ name is being mentioned. Well, I like her beauty and personality that I was thinking why she didn’t join during her prime years. I bet she could have won not because she is a Marcos but because of her genuine beauty package. And fact is, her mother was a Miss Manila in her maiden years. πŸ˜‰

  2. Based from this interview, I can sense that she has this very interesting personality. It actually shows in her face. I like her!

  3. Two thumbs up! This one definitely has a global look. Here in Los Angeles, the melting pot capital of the world, she definitely has strikingly beautiful “island”filipina features, yet would also be mistaken as South Asian or Latina.

    Many Filipinos, in California, are mistaken as Hispanics “not” because of light skinned features. On the contrary, it is the brown skinned Filipinos who look like the millions of brown skinned immigrants from Mexico and Central America.

    Hope Ms. De Leon does well.

      • Fabs, what do you actually mean when you say “universal?” Just curious I guess…

      • Hey Dexter . I was just reiterating what four n more had said about Angelique.

        Her beauty, at least based on the pics shown so far, crosses continental barriers.

        She could pass for a Latina, an Indian, a Carribean, a Caucasian with Indian blood or even a light-skinned African.

  4. She looks more expensive when she smiles not showing her teeth. And I agree that she needs to work more on her smile and learn her angles as well πŸ˜‰

    As for the makeup and hair… Hmmm… For daily activities I suggest she tone down her makeup and try to opt for bronze/browns instead of the usual dark smokey makeup (or maybe play with darker blue shades of eyeshadow so it won’t look over the top). For the hair, I think she’ll look nice in a half pony or straight hair just like Ara.

    • When it comes to smiling, all queens should project ala Venezuela, that is, smiling ear-to-ear showing practically all super sparkling white teeth and just a minute part of their healthy pinkish gums. What do you think, Sheens & Fabs?!? :mrgreen:

      • Dex, kaya sabi ko sa taas na kailangan nya ipractice ang ngiti nya kasi may ibang pictures cya na nakita ko na medyo parang nangangawit na sa kakangiti yung smile nya. While I understand this happens, it takes a lot of practice to master the art of smiling. Sa shoots pa nga lang nakakangiti umemote, ngumiti and magbigay ng different expressions, what more kung pageant screening at andaming matang nakatingin sayo and kailangan imaintain ang poise and smile all the time, diba?

    • It’s not impossible. Shamcey ‘s smile improved dramatically after she won BP 2011.

      • As intelligent as she is… Shamcey could perfect everything but her height. If she was only a five-niner, she could have won, no doubt!

      • Shamcey should have won even if she was only 5’7″. She gave the best answer to the final question.

      • That’s her BIGGEST DETERRENT during her competition. She is only 5’7″!!!

        I made a very careful study about MU since I was wondering why we still have not captured the third crown. You can visit the link below:

        Ever since Donald Trump took over, the Miss Universe became a genuine beauty competition whereby the winner should have a glamourous face, a curvaceous body, a “believable” spokesperson and above all β€” MUST BE TALL!

        And perspicacious me πŸ˜‰ made the following insightful theories based on the facts I have enumerated in my study:

        1) 5’8″ was considered tall until the year 2000;
        2) 5’9″ must be the MINIMUM height of the crown bearer;
        3) You don’t need to nail Q&A, the winner-to-be only needs to look credible and well-poised;
        4) Preferred age is between 20 and 22;
        5) MUO never crowned “dames” two years in a row; and
        6) Only a Miss USA with Trump’s blessings can defy aforementioned theories.

        So… do you agree with me now?

      • Agree in part to above, Dexter . Olivia CULPO is not even 5’7″ and the Miss U 1997 from Venezuela was barely 5’7″.
        It definitely helps if yore tall.

        As for the Q&A , I agree it’s the delivery that matters the most. That’s why Miss Venezuela won last year even though she dodged the question instead of answering it.

        However, didn’t Sushmita win 1994 because of her answer ? What abt Miss Botswana who stole the crown from Miriam?

      • Can we just talk about MU Trump’s rule? How tall was Miriam? We cannot compare from the beginning as it would be useless to make any intelligent discusion that way. Right?!? πŸ˜‰

  5. Less makeup, no big hair please. She is beautiful and she doesn’t need to be over the top. RL should t one down the “Goddess” styling (and that goes for you too Aiza) as I remember my fave last year Ria Rabajante was “over-baked.”

  6. Everything about her is exaggeration.
    Too much make up, over projection and too much nose.

  7. I am seeing a Shamcey and Imee Marcos in her.

    Sir Norms, would you know if she also got her degree from St. Paul?
    I noticed that Paulinians speak well. I know a few who can really carry a good conversation and very confident in public speaking.

    These two RL Angels can really give te hyped girls a run for their money.

  8. She should avoid a ‘big’ smile like the one where she’s wearing aqua marine top. There’s nothing wrong with it but she’s much better looking when she just smirks like her solo shoot in red cocktail dress πŸ™‚ . Just an observation πŸ˜‰

  9. Angelique Celine is definitely a very convincing spokesperson for R-L Angels. Considering her background, it’s no surprise that she could express her thoughts articulately. I look forward to hearing her voice and how she delivers what’s in her mind.

    Nice to know more about her camp and its intentions. Sending only two makes me feel that they only want the highest two placements. So let’s see how they will maneuver the situation to their favour.

    On the side-note, it’s so interesting to know thar MJBG is her batchmate at Saint Paul U. Was it during high school or college. Just curious I guess…

      • hi Dawn, I don’t mean to offend. Dawn Selya doesn’t exactly sound ‘atenean” to me. Do u mind explaining the etymology of your screen name?

      • ζε–œε‘θ΄’! May the Year of the Horse brings you and your loved ones good health and happiness.

        BTW, I am aware that your Marianne graduated at the Ateneo de Manila University with an AB degree in Diplomacy and International Relations with specialization in East and Southeast Asian Studies. πŸ˜‰ I was curious about the info shared by Angelique Celine that’s why I wanted Norman to clarify. Nice to know that you are an Atenean. πŸ™‚

      • I was to throw a punchline at you for being so inquisitive but I forgot because you didn’t respond immediately. I’ll get back to you whem my memory returns. So you are a lion. Are you self-centered? Lions are, yanow?!? πŸ˜‰

      • To Dawn, that’s exactly what I was trying to tell u – the salacious nature of your screen name. Hahaha

      • Hmmm… not quite but if not controlled you may be going there… πŸ˜†

        To the best of my knowledge, a self-absorbed person just wants to talk about himself be it positive or NEGATIVE whereas a self-centred person is full of himself… so vain… are you?!? πŸ˜‰

    • St Paul ‘s Manila? I went to school right across from St Paul on Pedro Gil . But it was a generation ago

      • So you are a Maroon!!! What course did you take up from there. Don’t tell me you are specializing in cosmetic surgery. πŸ˜‰

      • Let’s look at it this way. Shamcey is friendly. But compared to someone who constantly reaches out to others, she tends to be more cautious. πŸ˜‰

      • Leila Lopes was very friendly and accommodating. Ara was the same. But Shamcey? When we called her attention inside the elevator at Planet Holywood , she just stared at us with no smile or any form of acknowledgment.

        But it was just a one time encounter. And she was probably tired . So I didn’t take offense to that.
