Everytime I get to watch Star World’s Promo Plug for Miss Universe 2013, the background music (Katy Perry’s Roar) keeps ringing on my ears.

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire

I am obviously rooting for our own. But is it just the patriotic spirit within that’s keeping my hopes high? Well, I don’t want to make an outrageously big fuss of everything that’s happening in Moscow more than 24 hours before Miss Universe 2013 gets elected. But rest assured, I have been receiving nothing but encouraging signs/feedbacks. Please don’t ask me to go into details. Just keep on supporting Ariella Arida and she will do everything in her capacity to deliver the goods.

Oh my, the refrain is sounding me off again.

  6. When I was younger I volunteered for a nearby animal shelter. At first I didn’t know many people there and wasn’t very enthusiastic. Later, as I got to know the animals and staff members I learned to enjoy and relish my time there. It was a very rewarding experience and I got to do many things I wouldn’t of had an opportunity to do otherwise.

    Sometimes when I’d come in to volunteer I would see other kids taking part. Most of them were volunteering because they needed service hours for school. These kids sometimes just sat around waiting for their time to pass and not enjoying the experiences that the shelter had to offer. Other students I saw there even after they had completed their hours for school. They had enjoyed their experience and wanted to do more for the shelter.

  8. Ariella Arida truly is a natural beauty!.. I don’t care what anybody else says about her not being good enough. I don’t care about many of the pageant sites that don’t include her in their leaderboards because it’s obvious that they just want to spite her due to the Philippines’ back to back top 5 placements in the MU pageants for the past 3 years… and on top of that Philippine delegates have been taking home the crowns this year with Miss Supranational and Miss World. Filipina beauty is truly something to reckon with and with regards to beauty pageants, for many reasons; they are very well trained, very disciplined and very natural also. When they walk down that stage they are determined and confident…they just glow!… Ara Arida if you get to read this I just want to say thank you for being so Grand and Beautiful!!!…And doing your best for the Philippines and all Filipinos around the world!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  10. Ara really looks fresher, younger and prettier with less eye make-up, and less make-up in general. Just look at her rehearsal photos! I hope her handlers take this into consideration.

    • Hindi ko alam kung pagsuporta yang sinabi mo. Hindi dapat magmakaawa si Ariella. Hindi naman charity ang pino-promote ng Miss U.

    • Anu yun? MU 2012 part 2.. Nanalo si Olivia dahil sa Boston bombing so dapat manalo din si Ara dahil sa super thyphoon?! So ano susunod.. kaya nanalo si Megan dahil sa lindol tapos pinapanalo si Mutya dahil naawa sila sa nanay nyang me sakit? Where’s your pride? I don’t want Ara to mention or even imply anything about the calamity unless she is asked about it.. I want her to win because of her determination, hard work and resiliency despite all odds against her… On the coronation night, Ariella Arida would be the best representation of our people!!!!

        I always believe in Ara but, you’ve missed my point in my comment above. What is happening in our country right now is very hard to ignore internationally, typhoon Yolanda was the strongest typhoon and broke records.

        Come MU 2013 final night, tonight I just want Ara to be sensitive and thoughtful about the current situation in the Philippines and the struggles our fellow country men are going through. I knew she’s been sending her sentiments and prayers already on Instagram and Facebook but, I would like the MU judges and the viewers to see how kind, thoughtful, considerate and caring our Ara is on MU stage.

    Do you honestly believe those predictions? Come on. Anyone’s guess be it objective, subjective or plain gut-feel is a prediction. There are hundreds of predictions in the net right now and any list that does not mention the Philippines in the magic circle of five is classified as BAD PREDICTION. If by accident you’ve read a fantasy-filled prediction as compiled by nine day-dreamers, then you were FOOLED. 😉

    • Because the auditors of MUO will not risk their reputation by leaking the actual Top 16, Tara. Nobody knows the exact composition of the semifinals except them, and maybe Donald Trump & Paula Shugart. 😉

  27. Norman, this will truly give justice to you for choosing Ms. Ariella Arida. Adam Mear a regular correspondence every year for Ms. Universe said Ariella is a top contender for the crown. Just like a lot who had said many times already, she is very beautiful and striking up close. She’s very sweet. She was very beautiful in her evening gown presentation and swimsuit. He also said Ms. Universe is not looking for the fierce look in their winners anymore. This is where the Philippoine rep. I would say has the leading edge. Another contender for the crown is Ms. Ukraine. She’s in for the top 5. So, watch her, because she also has the support of the Russian people.

  28. @Sir Norms: I won’t ask you anything specific about those “encouraging signs” you’ve been receiving, but please just answer this query: Are these signs/feedback the same things we (your readers, i.e.) could and have already gathered through frequenting blogs, fora, and FB pages (I know we both 🙂 frequent some of the same FB fanpages to keep updated)? Or were these information made privy to you from people in the know?

    • Oh, the feedbacks are from the coverage team members in Moscow. I cannot post them here since they were shared in confidence. Hope you understand. 😉

      • That’s d best proof of ur prediction for Ara…I’m rooting for ara based on her activities/events and her prelim performance…But to have feedback from d people u believed giving u what’s really happening in moscow is another confirmation for AHA’s chances to win…I believe she’s on top 16 and knowing the capabilities/talent of ARA in SS and EG, she will definitely be on top 5. I just hope and pray,she can give d best answer of the final question with conviction. I just hope also that d judges and the MUO will love her to win regardless of her answer to d final question(as per history, in my opinion, they don’t base only for the answer of d candidates but d impact during d final look of d top 5).
