Instead of just focusing on the evening gown itself, I considered the wearer as well. There should a good blend between the two. And this is how I came up with twenty (20) portraits that deserve to be short-listed by your blogger.
The four ladies on top – Monic Perez of Puerto Rico, Maria Gabriela Isler of Venezuela, Paulina Krupinska of Poland and Whulandary Herman of Indonesia – are the best of the lot, in my opinion. I find very very little to complain about their shots (and formal wears) here. In fact, I would pick one of them as the Best in Evening Gown Portrait if there was one.
Among the ones in the 2nd tier, I would single out Kim Yu-Mi of Korea for wearing something sleek and vava-voom wihtout going overboard. In the next tier, Ukraine and Panama are competing for ultimate sexiness with the cut of their respective gowns upping the ante and the slits just raised right.
In the 4th tier, Malaysia and Nicaragua are the stand-outs, with the former zooming past had the color been less eye-straining. And this is my gripe about Ariella’s number. The color leaves much to be desired, apart from the blah design. But it’s a good thing she managed to make her beauty shine inspite.
And in the final tier, Czech Republic is my bet, followed closely by Trinidad & Tobago.
All in all, there wasn’t much difficulty when I trimmed the 86 because I was able to come up with my 20 favorites without laboring too much on every single one of them. 😉
