Mutya and Madame at the Senate

Did you think BPCI will allow MWP and MWO to get all the accolades at the Senate? Of course not!

With Mutya Johanna Datul also bringing honors to the country by becoming the first Filipina to win Miss Supranational, she was also invited to the Philippine Senate for an overdue recognition.

And with Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta by her side, our lovely Mutya received her day in the spotlight as well, which I believe is just and well-deserved.

Indeed, this has been a lovely day at the Senate House! 🙂

Dear SMA, you have enough moolah to buy yourself a Birkin (which you used during Mutya’s commendation at the Senate and at Pnoy’s office) yet you don’t have enough funds to hire good stylists to dress up our reigning queens to make them look decent enough in public? And what is Mutya doing wearing the teletubby coloured suit? Terrible looking! 😦

      • Kaloka si Madam sister! And it’s not just a Birkin, it’s a croc Birkin. And that’s more expensive than a regular Birkin. Parang si Mutya ang kinakawawa nya sa mga palpak na chaka Bazzura clothes nya ha pansin ko lang 😦 From the dress/gowns that she wore during her stint at Belarus (except for the white gown coz that’s from MS org) , and then this Teletubby suit?! Horrendous!!!!! 😦 😦 😦

  5. Just thought of who will be the potential candidate(s) for Bb. P. Supranational 2014 after Mutya’s reign. My first on the list would be Ms. LUCILE FELIPE. She was only 18 y.o. that time when she joined, (pls. correct me if I’m wrong). I wish she would join again and hopefully next year. I believe she has the ‘IT’ just like Mutya Datul. Sir Norman, please could you find her and ask her to join again. 😉

      • Thanks for the update Sir Norman. I really like her personality. Her peg was a ‘tricycle driver’. I would say that + or – with the same profile background as Mutya.

  6. Ms. World 2013 managed to be very visible during the short time she was here (she’s leaving today, right?) . Thanks to the very supportive Cory Quirino and Julia Morley. I don’t think Binibining Pilipinas and even the Ms. Supranational organizers gave enough support. In fact, the commendation given to Mutya by our pork barrel champions in the Senate appeared to be just an after-thought–para bang, ay oo nga pala, si Ms. (ano nga ba iyon?) dapat ma photo ops din kasama nating mga porkies.

    I feel bad for Mutya because she deserves more than she is getting from her beauty organizers and even from us, her kababayans. I rooted for her during the Binibining Pilipinas pageant – she delivered her answers in Filipino- unlike the others who were so “trying hard”. That to me is a sign of confidence, pride in our own language and humility in admitting that she can communicate better in Filipino. More power to Ms. Supranational 2013 and Ms. World 2013.

  7. Same here. Sana makipag tie up na lang sila with up and coming young designers natin. Matatabunan talaga ni Megan si Mutya. Sana pinag-terno na rin lang ni SMA si Mutya. Anyway, Ara had a photoshoot yesterday. GOT ANY PICS, Sir Norman?

  8. Mutya won Miss Supranational Sept. 6. Why did the Senate wait so long to give her this commendation? And did Stella have a motorcade for Mutya when she returned from Belarus?

  10. Nag abot pala sila! Ano ba yung suot ni mutya, sana filipiniana na rin para terno sila ni megan.. ano kaya iniisip ni sma, kailangan manalo si ara. Para maibangon ang kanya dangal! Hahaha.. no more bazura gown. Para sure na sure na pasok sa banga!!!
