Francine Garcia (aka Kim Chiu of QC) was crowned Super Sireyna Queen of Queens 2013.
The eight Super Sireyna Queens
Guys, I want to share with you the much talked-about Grand Finals of Super Sireyna Queen of Queens 2013. Below are the videos divided into six parts. Apologies for the less than clear quality, but this is the most complete set I could find on Youtube. Just the same, you will be amazed at the finalists, most especially the world-class fantasy costumes. The Q&A, especially of the winner Francine Garcia, was a killer (what with a killer question from judge Isabelle Daza). I was impressed with the whole event over-all. Do watch now. 😉

So what’s the sense in these 4-part Sunday Specials of Norman’s Blog?
Simple. Quoting becomegorgeous.com
“…Make-up has proven itself to be a girl’s best friend since ancient times and even more nowadays with so many cosmetic products available. Because there is nothing sexier than a flawless skin, find out how you can hide skin imperfections so you can look your best.
Because a flawless complexion is like a fairytale today, make-up comes like a prince on a white horse. The cosmetic industry has managed to create and to perfect several cosmetic products just so women can benefit from flawless looking skin even if they weren’t born with it.”
All the unmade celebrities your eyes feasted on today are no different from ordinary individuals behind the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. It only goes to show that, in their individual careers, “…Perfect looking skin without any imperfections looks amazingly hot and helps create a gorgeous appearance.” 😉

Here are four more Hollywood celebrities who benefitted much from the magic of make-up. Except for Maria Shriver, the three other ladies looked just like how I would imagine them without any facial applications.
I was, however, surprised at how the body of Katy Perry appears when wearing old worn-out attires like the one above. As for Miley Cyrus, her oily skin is a turn-off, while Jessica Alba’s pale skin looks fab with the right shade of make-up.
More ‘make-me-up’ specials in a few. 😉

In a way, beauty queens are just like celebrities in that they constantly need to be made-up before stepping out of the shadows and exposing their faces to the press and paparazzis.
Just look at the plain-faced Pamela Sue Anderson above and you will conclude that her cosmetic make-over is so major that, without the enhancements, she could pass off as a worn-down mother of six who couldn’t care less if she would look like one while shopping at the nearest dollar store.
Among the four above, Tyra Banks surprised me the least because she has not really been that alienating when it comes to making quick public appearances wearing the lightest of make-up. And she is the one whose looks are not drastically different from each other. Unlike Beyonce who will not strike anyone as Goddess-like when dressed without glitters and wearing a plain beanie hat.
To be continued…

For today’s blog posts (in four mini-parts), I decided to share photos (with the generous and dutiful assistance of Chrome) showing the magic of make-up and how homely looks can be transformed to million-dollar bucks (or a hundred thousand for some).
Who would have thought that these celebrities look just like (or even less than) us, mere mortals? They may be starring in big Hollywood movies, signing fat endorsement deals, hosting hit TV/cable programs or plain lounging around in the arms of the showbiz world, but when nobody is around to beautify their faces (and skins), they could walk on the streets of L.A. and New York and be completely ignored or worse, be shouted at as the less-than-pleasant versions of their glorified faces in tinseltown.
More to come in a few! 🙂

During last night’s coronation of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2013 at the NBC Tent in Taguig, five ladies emerged victorious with two of them getting crowned for anticipated international pageant representations.
Koreen Medina from Quezon City – a strong favorite from the start – bagged the Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International crown, with Cebuana Angeli Dione Gomez clinching the Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International title. Asdis Liza Karlsdottir from Iceland was named Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities. 1st Runner-Up honors went to Arizona’s Maureen Montagne with Kristian Aubrey Nolasco of Caloocan rounding up the Top 5 as 2nd Runner-Up.
As of now, Koreen’s pageant assignment is still unspecified (although it naturally should be Miss Intercontinental), but Angeli will definitely have her hands full in Kuala Lumpur with the reigning winner of Miss Tourism International being her fellow Cebuana (and sur-namesake) Rizzini Alexis Gomez.

Congratulations to all the winners! 🙂
P.S. My suggestion to the organizers is to send Asdis Liza Karlsdottir to Miss Intercontinental instead. I bet she will do well in that competition. 😉
Prophetic photo? Will Queenie crown Megan on August 18? (Photo credit: Critical Beauty/Jonas Yu)
Both of them come from the same camp (A&Q).
Both of them are hyped – one last year, the other now.
Both of them are gorgeous, well-trained and polished to the max.
So the one question in most everyone’s mind right now is this – will MWP2012 Queenie Rehman crown camp sister Megan Young as her successor come August 18?
You know, it doesn’t take a pageant genius to analyze things. The MWP2013 crown is Megan’s to lose. Unless she commits an unforgiveable blunder along the way to the top of the field, she should ready herself for Indonesia. And I daresay that Aces & Queens will not settle for anything less.

Megan Young is the one to beat. Period. 😉

My Final Top 10 Picks for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2013
Let’s cut to the chase. Aside from my Top 10 choices above, here is how I would like the final Honor Roll to pan out after the Coronation Night wraps up at the NBC Tent later.
2013 Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International: #29 VINA OPENIANO (Mutya ng Laguna)
2013 Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International: #21 KOREEN MEDINA (Mutya ng Quezon City)
2013 Mutya ng Pilipinas-Overseas Communities: #21 MADISON ELLIOT (Mutya ng Maryland)
1st Runner-Up: #6 Angeli Dione Gomez (Mutya ng Cebu City)
2nd Runner-Up: #15 Asdis Liza Karlsdottir (Mutya ng Iceland)
Otherwise, one of my remaining favorites – like Zandra Flores and Maureen Montagne – could upend the above selection if they are favored by the judges.
See you on the other side tomorrow.
Jennyline Carla Malpaya: she was expected for Bb. Pilipinas 2013, but booked herself for MWP2013 instead. (Photo credit: OPMB Worldwide/Edmund Chua)
Jennyline during one of her modeling assignments.
If you will remember, dear readers, I featured Jennyline Carla Malpaya in an earlier
post where she was being touted as a possible contender for Bb. Pilipinas 2013. But probably upon the advise of her handlers (Team JDV, I was told), she passed on that one and patiently waited for the screenings of Miss World Philippines 2013.
So when this 5’9″ Bulakenya presented herself at Solaire Resort and Casino earlier this week, all eyes looked at her direction. With her statuesque presence and lovely brown skin, she stood out amidst the fairer applicants. Let’s see if she can pull out all the stops in the competition. That is, if she gets an Official Candidate pin number come Monday. 😉
Karla Patricia Alas: one more MWP2013 enlister for your consideration (Photo credit: OPMB Worldwide/Edmund Chua)
Here’s another comer for Miss World Philippines 2013. Her name is Karla Patricia Alas. And for those who keenly followed Miss Philippines Earth 2013 a couple of months back, she took part in the said competition as the representative of Las Pinas City. Having ended that attempt empty-handed, she is going the route of another national beauty pageant, aiming to become our rep in Indonesia for Miss World 2013.
How do you assess this lady? (Photo credit: OPMB Worldwide/Edmund Chua)
I like this lady who, by the way, is a Registered Nurse who stands 5’6″. But do I like her enough to make Top 5? Your guess is as good as mine. 😉
