Miss Universe Tanzania Winfrida Dominic
Shiny long tresses are usually one of the lingering trademarks of a beauty queen – the longer, the wavier, the bouncier, the better. But not with Winfrida Dominic. The Tanzanian charmer in this year’s Miss Universe sure knows how to make her way to the opposite side of the pole – and with locks so short that not one strand grows beyond half an inch.
And why not? The girl can carry herself with more confidence in a wash-and-wear kind of situation. And with that very sunshiny face to boot, she is sure to make heads turn and stay at that angle longer than they should.
Will we see a really short-haired girl in the Top 16 on pageant night? Not an impossibility. But will we see a really short-haired girl in the Top 10? That’s cutting it a tad too close for Trump’s comfort, but still likely to happen. Anything beyond this point is already trend-setting for a Miss Universe pageant. It could happen, but I doubt if it will happen this year. 😉
Miss St. Lucia is the other short-haired candidate this year. Just glancing through the candidates’ photos made me realize that save for Tanzania and St. Lucia, all the other candidates are sporting long tresses this year.
