Today is extra special. Aside from July 9 being a ‘Thank-God-it’s-Friday’, my blog takes on a new look. But more importantly, Norman’s Blog turns 1 year old. So HAPPY BLOG-DAY to me!
Just like any blogger, I’ve had my share of humble beginnings as one. It all started as an online crawl yearning for attention. Slowly, I advanced to guided steps that gradually made my presence in cyberspace. I have yet to progress to the toddler stage but there is much to be thankful for considering that I initially thought my blogging days would only last for a few months, half a year at most. My deep interest in pageants, movies, travel and TV helped build and sustain my foundation in this regard. From there, I just kept on blogging and blogging. There are days upon days when the inspiration overflows, and there are strings of dry 24-hour cycles. Through it all, I managed to survive despite simultaneously performing my full-time H.R. Consultancy work.
Allow me to thank some individuals who have helped strengthen my blog during the past 365 days…
To the Wake-Up Show hosts of Mellow 94.7 – DJ Jaypee, DJ Ryu and DJ Issa – for all the generous (and my shameless on-air) free plugs of ‘www.normannorman.wordpress.com’ and ‘normannorman.net’ that significantly contributed to the number of hits that came my blog’s way. You guys rock!
To my friends at OPMB Worldwide…for all the pageant updates and coverages that have powered up my topics on local and international beauty pageants.
To various sites – you know who you are – from where I ‘borrowed’ images to regularly compliment my daily blogs, a megapixel of thanks!
Before I forget, a special mention is in order for the millions of Miley Cyrus fans and anti-Miley Cyrus camps around the world who are partly responsible for the best-performing periods in my stats because of this one particular blog last October 30, 2009 that trended on top of all my topics up to early last month.
Lastly – and most importantly – to my regular readers and bookmarked subscriptions….Maraming Salamat, Merci beaucoup, Muchas Gracias, Muito Obrigado, Khop Khun Khap, Xie Xie, Domo Arigato, Grazie Mille, Danke schon, Thank you very much!
I am a happy blogger, that much I can say.
I consider this my other life outside the real world. The line between blogging and living has considerably blurred over the past 12 months. I don’t mind. I continue to get inspiration from my treasured readers plus a wide assortment of things that make writing more of a fulfilling outlet than a frequent source of obligation.
Onwards to Year 2! 😉
P.S. Here’s a shout out to my favorite Twitter personalities as well – actor Rocco Nacino, actresses Angel Locsin & Rhian Ramos and TV hosts Chris Tiu, Tim Yap & Raymond Gutierrez! Thanks for taking the time to reply to my tweets! 🙂
