Juan Bruno Kettels Torrico, a 20-year old Engineering student from Bolivia, was adjudged Mister International 2009 and won over 30 other delegates from around the world during the finals held in Taichung, Taiwan over the weekend. He actually came out as a surprise come-from-behind victor over the more favored candidates from Venezuela, Spain and France.
“He’s confident and he presents himself with style,” said Alan Sim, president of the Mister Singapore Organization which created the pageant.
Hector Soria of Spain placed 1st Runner-Up, while Marcelino Gebrayel of Lebanon was named 2nd Runner-Up. Maxime Thomasset of France notched 3rd Runner-Up honors, with Sebastian Strzepka of Poland completing the Top 5 as 4th Runner-Up.
The candidates who made it to the Top 10 are from Belgium, Singapore, Slovenia, Taiwan and Venezuela. The remaining guys in the Top 15 are from Indonesia, Ireland, Puerto Rico, USA and Vietnam.
