This is something to be proud of. Our very own Supermodel, Charo Ronquillo, who hails from Cabuyao, Laguna has been hailed by Vogue Magazine as one of the 10 Ford Supermodel of the World Finalists who are “making it big” globally. She is ranked 4th.
Charo, 21, was the Philippine representative to the Supermodel of the World 2005 when she was only 17. She placed third in the competition and was awarded a US$100,000 modelling contract by the Ford Modelling Agency. She took full advantage of the opportunity and was able to land a long list of projects and assignments with several brands plus running the catwalk for famous designers. She is often referred to as the Asian version of Kate Moss.
According to Vogue:
“Since her win, Charo has graced the catwalks of New York Fashion Week for designers including LaCoste, Nanette Lapre, Maria Cornejo, Tory Burch, Antonio Berardi, Kenneth Cole, Mac Cosmetics, Barbie Collection, Sisley and Benetton and has secured many high profile editorials.”
Completing the list of Supermodels of the World in the Top 10: Alexina Graham (Great Britain), Camila Finn (Brazil), Chanel Iman, Kang Seung-Hyun, Kate Somers (Canada), Liliane Ferrarezi and Luciana Curtis (Brazil), Nataliya Gotsii (Ukraine), and Vanessa De Assis (Puerto Rico).
Congratulations, Charo! Keep up the excellent work!
