Something you may have forgotten to watch last Saturday night (April 26, 2014) on ABS-CBN was “The Bottomline with Boy Abunda” which had the seven (7) Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens – MUP2014 MJ Lastimosa, BPI2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, BPIc2014 Kris Tiffany Janson, BPS2014 Yvethe Marie Santiago, BPT2014 Parul Shah, 1st RU Laura Lehmann and 2nd RU Hannah Ruth Sison – as guests.
“What an amazing experience!! Thank you so much Tito Boy for sharing your advice and knowledge. It was such an honor to be graced by your wisdom. We learned so much!! Don’t forget to catch your #bbpilipinas winners, this week only on ABS-CBN!
And based on the Instagram post of Laura Lehmann (@laulehmann) above, all of them had a great time bonding and chatting with the prolific host. They even learned a significant thing or two that would be useful in international pageants.
Let’s wait for the full video to be uploaded on YouTube or you can try this LINK. I didn’t catch the whole thing myself, but I like the near tail-end portions I was able to watch. ;-)

Earlier in the day, the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens spent time with the children-beneficiaries who are part of BPCI’s Outreach Program as they give back to the little ones by giving them school supplies and stuff plus yummy Dairy Queen treats. Apart from that, they made them happy by showing what it is like to be big sisters.
MJ Lastimosa, Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, Kris Tiffany Janson, Yvethe Santiago, Parul Shah, Laura Lehmann and Hannah Sison bonded, took group selfies and had fun chatting with everyone.

“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses – only results.” – Kenneth H. Blanchard
Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2014 Parul Shah won’t admit it, but she must already have entertained thoughts about getting the least-favorite crown among the five offered during the pageant. But a crown is still a crown – an honor anyone else would love to get just to seal victory. And now that the running buzz is that Miss Tourism Queen International 2014 will be hosted in Guiyang, China, the thoughts running inside her head must be one of growing excitement. If she ends up being the first among the new titleholders competing abroad, then I expect an initial commitment to give her very best.
At this point, let me share a short excerpt from the article written by Kenneth Boa about the subject:
“A chicken and a pig were walking down the road together. They passed a sign for a local diner advertising its breakfast special: “Ham and Eggs – $2.95!” The chicken said, “That’s our whole contribution to society: breakfast food!” The pig replied, “For you, it may be a contribution. For me it’s a total commitment.”
Life in the modern world has programmed us to expect a life of ease. It’s not merely that we want everything to be easy; who wouldn’t want that? What is troubling is that we now expect to receive abundant rewards with minimal effort. If something requires effort or time, it must not be meant to be, and we feel thoroughly justified giving up. Worse yet are those who believe legitimate goals may be sought through illegitimate means, provided that those means offer a short-cut to the goal in mind.
Unconditional and commitment co-exist. They should always be linked together. When commitment is conditional, it only means that the individual can only offer his/her undivided devotion up to a certain extent or when a condition is met. That can never be a winning arrangement in the truest sense of the word. Just like marriage, there should be no ifs or buts. No ulterior motives or vested interests.
How about you, dear readers, have you committed yourself lately?

Parul is ready! (Photo credit: Melvin Sia)
Good news to all fans and supporters of Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2014 Parul Shah. It’s looking more and more clear that Miss Tourism Queen International 2014 will push through in Guiyang, China.
The pre-launch promotional tours in the host city have already started with former winners arriving and their Chinese counterparts visiting several parts of Guiyang.
Will this mean that Parul should start planning her wardrobe for the competition and get a crash course on Chinese language and etiquettes very soon? I certainly certainly hope so!
Our girl is ready whenever they are! :-)

How far will Parul shine bright in her Tourism mission?
My whole life has been a perpetual state of dreaming to be a beauty queen while in service to people. And when it finally came true, I couldn’t help but think of how much blessed I am for the invaluable support and love you guys showed me since Day 1 of my journey. You who genuinely care for me gives me the drive to go for this dream. To my mentors, I owe it to you for sticking around and believing in me that I always have the worth of a daughter to you. To my family and real friends, whom sometimes I haven’t spoken to yet I can never live without – thank you for loving me unconditionally. To my supporters and fans, you are all a huge part of where I am today and where I will be. This crown is for you. Thank you everyone.

When Parul Shah was crowned Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2014, it was like the culmination of a two-edition search for the recognition that she has promised her family to achieve in the pageant. And while the title is not the most exciting among the five titles at stake, the mere fact that she has solid proof brings to a close the results of her hard-earned efforts. For now, that is.
The Fil-Indian stunner from Pangasinan is in deep anticipation that Miss Tourism Queen International 2014 will push through so that her reign will be highlighted by the chance to go abroad and wear the Philippine sash and hopefully become the country’s 2nd winner of the same.
Same here, Parul. We are all hoping that you won’t trek the Katrina Dimaranan route and instead, show to everyone that you can be a force to reckon with when pitted against delegates from other countries. You can be the brightly-lit lantern (a play of words on the name) that will beam with pride and success.
Best of luck, Binibining Pilipinas! ;-)
Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Winners and Runners-Up

The good news: I had a very pleasant encounter with the newly-crowned Bb. Pilipinas 2014 winners at Balay in Araneta Center earlier. All seven ladies are in full bloom and looked every inch the beauty queens they have been transformed into just last Sunday night.
The not-so-good news: It was a full-on Press Conference instead of an opportunity to do one-on-one interviews with them. In fact, I was the last and only digital press rep to be able to ask one question. As expected, the broadsheet media and TV networks were given the chance to throw in questions ahead plus on-cam coverages, respectively.
Watch the 3-minute video below when I fortunately squeezed a question for Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 Kris Tiffany Janson.
It was a thrill seeing the winners once more. But I was more excited when Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa stated about the possibility of winning our 3rd Miss Universe crown as: “I’ll make it my destiny!“.
She clearly elicited the most number of interest from the guests present. And her aura alone is starting to exude traces of a future big winner.
I was hoping to ask more questions, but time wasn’t on our side as the allotted schedule for the press conference already went beyond the intended frame.
But don’t fret. I got an invite to attend the thanksgiving party of Bianca Guidotti soon. I will make a separate post on that this weekend. ;-)
