Here are 5 of this year’s MPE candidates. Look familiar to you?

Five of the hopefuls for Miss Philippines Earth 2013 look very familiar. In fact, one of them is more than just familiar to all of us, as she has already took part in several beauty contests (twice!), and has even represented us abroad. Anyways, they are:

Angelee Claudette de Los Reyes – Bb. Pilipinas 2012 Official Candidate and semifinalist. She was also Miss Bikini Philippines 2011 (who represented us in China) and International Model Philippines 2012 (who wore the Philippine sash in Bangkok). She is now Olongapo City’s bet for MPE – a second attempt, I must add.

Faith Santos – we all remember her as the Kagandahang Flores registrant for Bb. Pilipinas 2013, and one of the very few from the said camp who failed to enter the Official 50. She is now dead set on vindicating herself in MPE as the representative of Marilao, Bulacan.

Bernadette Aguirre – she’s the teenager (then) from Bulacan who made it as one of three last-minute replacements (Monique Manuel and Gerlie Lero were the other two) during Bb. Pilipinas 2011. She hardly made a dent in the competition (won by Shamcey Supsup). But as the entry of Sta. Maria in MPE2013, she is hoped to do better.

Mira Mae Dimmerling – this Cebuana was named 1st Runner-Up during Mr. & Ms. Eco-Tourism Philippines/Mossimo Bikini Summit 2011. She kept a relatively low profile ever since, but has now resurfaced as Bogo, Cebu’s candidate in MPE2013.

Ferina de Paz – we all remember this Kris Bernal-deadringer who was supposed to be Muntinlupa City’s gem during MPE2011, up until her withdrawal from the competition midway through. Hopefully, she will be able to sustain her abruptly-cut momentum back then, and become a front-runner for this year’s edition.

These are just five of the several ladies who will vie for the 2013 Miss Philippines Earth crown. I thought of featuring this quintet first because of the instant recognition they gave me. Can you see an eventual winner in any of them? Or has fate gotten tired of their causes? We’ll see… ;-)

With a name like Unique, this girl can easily stand out

Tall and striking, this Unique Fadul.

Tall and striking, this Unique Fadul.

unique5 You don’t frequently encounter a beautiful lady who answers to the name ‘Unique’. So when you get to see one, there’s no way that you won’t give her a second (or third) look. And with an enviable height of 5’11″, she literally stands without even trying. A veteran of two local pageants, she took part in Miss Resorts World Manila 2010 (won by Wendy Tabusalla) and Miss Bikini Philippines 2011 (where she placed 1st Runner-Up to Angelee Claudette delos Reyes). Hailing from Paete, Laguna, her nice blend of Filipino and Middle Eastern blood brings to fore a sensual impact, especially when she uses those big round almond eyes to her photo advantage.

Shall we see Unique Fadul queueing for an Official Candidate’s slot of Bb. Pilipinas 2013? I can sense that she just might. Keep in mind that we’re looking for a “U” and Unique is uniquely “U”. ;-)

Getting-to-know-your-Bb.Pilipinas-2012-candidate: Angelee Claudett delos Reyes

Bb. Pilipinas 2012 candidate #26 Angelee Claudett delos Reyes

Last year, Angelee Claudett delos Reyes screened for Bb. Pilipinas, made it to the final deliberation, but was no longer included in the list of Official Candidates after the dust settled. She recovered from the disappointing non-inclusion by enlisting for Miss Bikini Philippines 2011. She won that one, and represented the country in the international competition held in China.

Zoom to 2012. The 24 year-old Nursing Instructor – a Bicolana by birth who has been living in Olongapo City for the longest – made another attempt to penetrate this year’s Bb. Pilipinas batch. Lady luck was on her side and she is now an official contender for one of the crowns at stake. At 5’6″, she measures 32-24-36.

Angelee Claudett is one of the Rodgil Flores tentpoles. Will she make her handler proud by nailing a semifinal – if not a Top 5 victory – on April 15? Let’s see how she steps up to the plate. In fairness, this beauty is better appreciated in person. Some of her pictures do not do justice as to how she radiates face-to-face.

Watch out for more of Angelee Claudett delos Reyes as she competes for Bb. Pilipinas 2012. ;-)
