The four winners of Bb. Pilipinas 2013 are now enjoying their crowns. While a part of the results caught everyone by surprise, the title assignments were generally acceptable to most everyone.
Pending the announcement of the host country for Miss Universe 2013, our bet for Miss Supranational 2013 appears to have the more dreamy destination. Mutya Johanna Datul will be Central Europe-bound as she will travel all the way to Minsk, Belarus for the competition. I think she will do good there, what with her uber pretty face and warm disposition. She won’t have the luxury of having a lot of Pinoy supporters following her, though. So she will need to toughen herself once left alone in a strange and foreign land.
And Bea Rose Santiago won’t have jet lag on her scheduled trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for Miss International 2013. With the ease and reasonable expense of ASEAN travel, I’m sure her Kagandahang Flores team and loved ones will find it easy to be physically present to provide moral support.

How about Joanna Cindy Miranda? Well, let’s see first if a Miss Tourism Queen International 2013 in China will push through. We all know that her predecessor – Katrina Dimaranan – was a frozen delight throughout 2012 as her supposed representation never materialized. The question in my mind is which one of the two will be sent if ever the pageant finally resumes. It is always possible that Kat will be given the chance with Cindy waiting for her turn in 2014.
With talks of Panama, Puerto Rico and China vying to host Miss Universe 2013, Ariella Arida will definitely have the most important and most glamorous mission of all. Let’s just hope that she won’t have to wait seven months (like Janine Tugonon) before competing. On the other hand, I don’t think it would be such a bad idea to wait. After all, the physical and mental preparations for MU are not for the weak-willed and impatient. Her transformation will be eagerly-awaited.
And will Virreina (or sole runner-up/finalist) Pia Wurtzbach get the chance to wear the Philippine sash abroad? I hope she does. A second-tier competition shouldn’t be really looked down at, for as long as BPCI did a good background check on the organizers.
Congratulations once more to all the winners! Best of luck in your international pageants!
