Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann during her victory celebration at Wafu
Valerie and your blogger
Going to the Greenhills area from Paranaque on a busy Tuesday night can be quite the trying commute. Just thinking of the number of bottlenecks along the way is more than enough to wear me down. But then again, there’s no other way to go about it except face the traffic head-on. The invitation to attend the victory celebration of Aces & Queens for Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann is unmissable, to say the least.
Smiling faces everywhere
Arriving at Wafu, I was greeted by familiar faces of friends and dear acquaintances. Aside from Jonas Gaffud and the people behind the pageant training group, a list of camp-affiliated beautiful ladies – past, present and future titleholders – made the affair shine even more. In attendance were: Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, Yvethe Santiago, Mary Ann Ross Misa, Christine Balaguer, Janelle Lazo Tee, Justine Felizarta, Monique Trinidad and Carla Lizardo.
The sit down dinner filled everyone’s tummy. Lively talks and pleasantries filled the air. Smiles and laughters came in succession.
Val upon her arrival at Wafu
Of course, the star of the night made her grand entrance soon enough. And London-bound Val is on a natural high with all the love and support being constantly showered upon her. Never-ending camera clicks and photo ops followed.
Beautiful ladies (well, almost) all plus Valerie
Everyone knows that the mission has just started for our Miss World 2014 rep. And if she is fortunate enough to score a big win in London – which equates to an even more fulfilling back-to-back victory with Miss World 2013 Megan Young – then I can only imagine how glorious the jubilation will be. :-D

Last night, Aces & Queens threw a simple despedida dinner for Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, four (4) days before her Official Send-Off by BPCI at Araneta’s Balay.
By Saturday, our Queen will be flying to Tokyo, Japan to start her journey for a back-to-back victory and a 6th Miss International crown – two objectives that may look impossible for some, but quite achievable for most.
These days are so busy for Bianca, but she still keeps the pressure at bay. After all, she wants to look at her most beautiful when she arrives in the Land of the Rising Sun. ;-)
Canada Philippine Fashion Week's Model of the Year Anjelica Balatbat
There’s a new girl in town we just might get to see more of in 2015. Actually, she is on a visit from Toronto where she was raised.
Last Sunday night, Jonas Gaffud introduced me to this very tall (around 5’11”) young lady. She was seated at first, then stood up to acknowledge my presence. My, oh my, she is statuesque indeed. Her name is Anjelica Balatbat. But you can call her Anjie for short.
Anjie was named Model of the Year during the Canada Philippine Fashion Week held earlier in the year. And I’m not surprised. She has a lovely posture and a swan neck that cradles her beautiful facial features. Her descent is obviously 100% Filipino.
Now, if residency won’t be a major hurdle, then I can easily see her making the beeline for Bb. Pilipinas 2015. Otherwise, Miss World Philippines 2015 would be a good alternative.

Where do you think Anjie will make a better fit? ;-)
Yvethe, Valerie and Bianca: all going for back-to-back wins (Photo credit: Pao Oap)
Looking for victories in Miss World, Miss International and Miss Supranational are Valerie, Bianca and Yvethe, respectively
Call it fate, sheer coincidence or plain luck of the results. But Aces & Queens ended up with the major titleholders who will work hard for back-to-back wins abroad. It’s like a blind-folded Jonas Gaffud dipped his hand inside a velvet bag to select three random challenge chips and picked the tougher ones like clustered destiny.
But as the popular saying goes, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.” And when the successful track record becomes like second skin, the next step is to up the level of difficulty to see how far the envelope can be pushed.
As far as Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann, Bb. Pilipinas International 2014 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti and Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2014 Yvethe Marie Santiago are concerned, they will not settle for anything less than the crowns currently on the lovely heads of Megan Young, Bea Rose Santiago and Mutya Datul, respectively. The three missions sound ambitious. But the objective is to set the bar high, and not be distracted from focus. You can bet your bottom dollar that they will give more than their 100% best efforts to go for the big wins.
With our constant cheers and support, nothing is impossible for our Queens. After all, it’s #ForThePhilippines ! :-D
Face of Beauty Philippines 2014 Princess Alanis Pura
Our deaf beauty queen Princess Alanis Pura is in the thick of preparations for Face of Beauty International 2014 which will be hosted by Taichung, Taiwan from October 30-November 18.
With help coming from beauty queen maker Jonas Gaffud who helped polish her catwalk and presentation skills, Princess will be participating in the competition with special interest being thrown at her direction for obvious reasons. And our rep should take advantage of the same.
It will be a challenge all the way, but nothing that would faze Princess. After all, she is one determined young lady who wants to bring honor to the Philippines by winning the crown. ;-)

Don’t look now, but Aces & Queens has already added a third lady to their roster in Miss World Philippines 2014.
First, it was just Valerie Weigmann as the camp’s solo entry. Then Christine Balaguer followed suit shortly after the announcement of Official Candidates. And just recently, Nicole Donesa made it as the third candidate being trained and sponsored by Jonas Gaffud and company.
The more, the merrier, so to speak. And Nicole’s decision to join the group couldn’t have come at a more crucial stage of the competition when the official preliminaries will soon start.
Good luck, ladies! :-D

Aces & Queens initiated the move to take on the pageant training and polishing of Miss World Philippines 2014 Official Candidate Christine Balaguer. The lovely deaf paddler was only too happy to be accommodated by the main man of the beauty camp so she can better improve the way she presents herself throughout the competition.
Some individuals might take this development to mean that there are now two (2) bets of the beauty camp in MWP2014. It certainly is looking more and more like that. Technically, Valerie Weigmann remains as the sole registered entry of Aces & Queens. Christine Balaguer, on the hand, is an additional commitment recently decided upon by Jonas Gaffud and all of the members.
Expect to see a more fine-tuned (and extra confident) Christine (who, I was told, got assigned to Designer Eric delos Santos) in the upcoming events of the contest. :-)
