If you failed to watch it live last Friday night at Solaire, then you can catch the TV telecast of the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 Coronation Night starting at 12noon today on GMA- 7. Witness the ascent to the crowns of Eva Psychee Patalinjug, Glennifer Perido and Patrizia Bosco as they battled it out with the 27 other candidates in what is considered to be the strongest batch of hopefuls in the decades-old national pageant.
Don’t forget! It all starts during lunchtime. ;-)
One (or hopefully two) of the thirty (30) hopefuls (watch their video invitations below) of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 will have a life-changing experience tonight once the winners of the beauty pageant are announced at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort & Casino. With both of last year’s titleholders (Koreen Medina and Angeli Dione Gomez) around to give their farewell walk, I’m still expecting some sort of announcement about having two crowned winners with a new international competition to make up for the transfer of Miss Intercontinental to BPCI. Fingers crossed for that!

Best of luck, ladies! May the best Mutya win! :-D
First things first. The date of the finals has been set. Miss World Philippines 2014 will be crowned on September 21 to be telecast over at GMA-7.
But before that happens, let it be known that the deadline for submission of entries has been extended till Monday, August 11. So if you have the right qualifications to join this year’s competition, download the application form from the website and have it completed/submitted before the said date. Then drop by the Miss World Philippines Secretariat at Unit 1804 of Pearl Bank Centre, Valero St. Salcedo Village, Makati City (Contact numbers: (02) 533-7470 or 63 918 9301278).
Who knows? You could be one of those who will join the likes of Valerie Weigmann, Lorraine Kendrickson and Rachel Peters during the screening. And if you make it through, the already-seeded Alexa Kirby will be a fellow candidate. ;-)

Miss World 2013 Megan Young on the pages of Women's Health Magazine
The TV spots are running in full over at GMA-7 on a regular basis. In fact, the above video can be seen at least once in every primetime program of the network, plus a healthy frequency during the highly-rated afternoon soaps.
This only means that Miss World Philippines 2014 will go on full swing mode next month. The exact finals date has not yet been finalized, but it will definitely air either last week of August or very early September.
And Miss World 2013 Megan Young is visibly excited to find out who will vie for the national crown she has beautifully held for one year.
Your blogger will definitely cover the whole nine yards. Stay stuck for all the highlights, sidelights and spotlights of the competition. ;-)
Starting today, all the regional and overseas candidates will arrive in Manila to join the NCR entries to begin their Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 journey. While the past 48 hours or so have been marred by the stinging effects of Typhoon Glenda, everyone needs to move on and get back on track. The pre-pageant activities have been finalized and compared to recent editions, this year has actually been met with a little more excitement and anticipation.
This early, I have a feeling one of the delegates from abroad could take it all the way and succeed Angeli Dione Gomez as the country’s representative to Miss Tourism International 2014 in Malaysia. But will the likes of Glennifer Perido and Cristine Cheeny Racel allow that to happen without giving a stiff fight? And will Koreen Medina wear a sash that could possibly hint on a newly-acquired pageant franchise if ever?
Let’s see what new developments Mutya ng Pilipinas has in store for all of us to witness. :-)
The Metro Manila screenings will happen this June 21-22.
The Metro Manila casting call for Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 will take place at Sequoia Hotel in Mother Ignacia Ave., Quezon City, from 1:00-4:00PM. This will be the last stop before the final NCR screenings in the same venue on June 27.
For those who will become Official Candidates, Pre-Pageant activities will be scheduled from July 18-30. Coronation night has been set for August 8 at Solaire Resort & Casino, with delayed TV telecast over GMA-7 on August 10.
Last Monday night, a documentary by Derick Cabrido – titled “Beauty and Brains” – was shown on GMA-7 after the late evening news ‘Saksi’ during Front Row. It featured Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean ‘MJ’ Lastimosa and her long journey to the crown. Former Bb. Pilipinas winners were also included in the same.

Take note of the requirements
Okay, ladies, you know the drill.
If you want to try your luck in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014, here’s another chance at seeking some fame and fortune in the local pageant world.
Top crown this year could be the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Tourism International where the reigning winner (national and international) is Angeli Dione Gomez. Now, even if the organizers have already lost the Miss Intercontinental franchise to Bb. Pilipinas, Koreen Medina will still be around to relinquish her sash since it carries the Mutya ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific International title.
Finals night is set for August 8 at the Solaire Resort & Casino, with TV airing on GMA-7 two days later.
Keep tab of all the schedules and requirements now. ;-)

When Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up Ara Arida, Miss Grand International 2013 3rd Runner-Up Ali Forbes and Mister International 2013 4th Runner-Up were gathered for a guesting in the GMA-7 Morning Show “Unang Hirit“, the hosts (Lyn Ching and Lhar Santiago) had fun asking questions picked from a fishbowl.
There’s no question that the country has already far exceeded many years past in its pageant performance for 2013. Aside from the three mentioned above, Miss World 2013 Megan Young and Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Datul added the big points to lift us to greater heights of recognition abroad.
And in the upcoming days ahead, the record stands to improve even more with the expected good performances of Angelee delos Reyes in Miss Earth 2013, Koreen Medina in Miss Intercontinental 2013, Bea Rose Santiago in Miss International 2013 and Angeli Dione Gomez in Miss Tourism International 2013. ;-)
For those who missed watching it at the Araneta Coliseum last October 12, the My Husband’s Lover concert will air tonight on GMA-7 on SNBO at around 10:00 PM or right after Imbestigador.
The entire cast of the hit pink teleserye – which ended just last Friday – will perform song, dance and whatever-have-you numbers that will either amuse or make you swoon with delight.
Watch out for the duets of Tom Rodriguez and Dennis Trillo. ;-)
