Neil and lead star Ryzza Mae Dizon
Tomorrow late morning just before the start of GMA-7’s noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga”, a new teleserye
will start airing, and it will be the very-first one for Mister International 2014 Neil Perez. It is entitled “Princess in the Palace” starring child actress Ryzza Mae Dizon, Aiza Seguerra and Ms. Eula Valdez. In it, our dashing “Pambansang Kuya
” will play the role of a Presidential Security Group (PSG) Officer detailed to protect the (fictitious
) Lady President of the Philippines.
This is a whole new experience for Neil, even if he already did some TV guestings on weekly drama episodes of shows on TV5 prior. At first, he had some struggles adjusting to the long taping hours, but it was never really daunting. He adjusted quite easily and now, he will see the final results of his efforts.

Please support Mister International 2014 Neil Perez in “Princess in the Palace” on GMA-7! ;-)
Miss World 2013 Megan Young is a happy MariMar. The pilot episode of her show was on top of the Philippine-trending hashtags (#MariMar2015) last night. And pending the release of actual TV ratings from AGB Nielsen and Kantar, it should have posted healthy numbers alongside the competition.
Megan and leading man Tom Rodriguez would like to thank everyone for the support and are asking for the continued support of the show on GMA-7 every night after 24Oras.
Thumbs up to the new MariMar! :-D

And the media appearances of the Misters 2015 The Pageant Official Candidates have started.
After yesterday’s radio tour which included a visit to DZRH Radio Television, the guys woke up for an early call time to do their first big network guesting on GMA-7’s morning show ‘Unang Hirit’ with host Suzie Abrera interviewing them alongside Mister Global Philippines 2014 Joseph Doruelo.
Everyone had a good time in the activity which took place only hours earlier. And they know very well how important these exposures really are.
There will be more in the coming days and weeks ahead, Misters! :-)

It's always a pleasure having a date with Miss World
Just hours earlier, I was in the company of Miss World 2013 Megan Young. We agreed to have light lunch and coffee at EDSA Beverage Design Studio (a great find for a coffee lover like myself
) and talked about a lot of things – both juicy and pageant-ish – that we lost track of time. We spent exactly 2 hours and a half of non-stop chikahan
. Of course, I couldn’t blog about all the details of our conversation (the interview was really meant for the cover story I will be writing about her for another publication
But this much I can say. Her upcoming teleserye “MariMar” is something that you can really look forward to. It has a great cast with actor Tom Rodriguez playing Megan’s leading man Sergio. Fellow beauty queen Alice Dixson has been signed up to be her (hold your breath) mother. And most interesting of all, her younger sister Lauren is going to fill in the role of a nemesis to MariMar. Those would definitely be interesting scenes to watch.
The series will premiere on GMA-7 later this month. Here’s the teaser for now. ;-)

Just in case you missed it last night (like me after coming home late due to the traffic from Fisher Mall to Parañaque
), I am sharing the video of the episode of GMA-7’s I-Witness where one of the hosts, Sandra Aguinaldo, featured the beauty boot training camp of Kagandahang Flores (KF) and its head, Rodgil Flores. You can see below the physical and emotional challenges that their beautiful trainees had to go through just to achieve an all-around pageant-ready body, mind and heart.
It’s true what the ladies would say. Pageantry is not all glamour and glitz. Beneath the beautiful gowns, crowns and all, there is a punishing road ahead to get to the intended target – a national crown.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young in a photo taken in San Juan, La Union by Erika Yamaguchi

If I were to second-guess the reason behind the photos of Miss World 2013 Megan Young in the waters of San Juan, La Union, she could be getting test shots for her upcoming lead role in GMA-7’s “MariMar” remake of a remake.
And our girl is definitely in her elements doing these poses for Erika Yamaguchi. Some of you might ask what the dead giveaway could be. It’s the curls on her hair that is a trademark of the original MariMar – Thalia.
The series will premiere this 3rd Quarter so taping dates for the same are already properly penciled on the production schedule.
Good luck, Megan! :-)

Miss World 2013 Megan Young is now a Primetime Lead Actress as the new MariMar
Miss World 2013 Megan Young has now officially entered a new phase in her life as a celebrity. After the recent announcement of the cast members of GMA-7’s remake of MariMar, she has been ushered in to the role of a Primetime lead starrer that will pair her with Hunk actor Tom Rodriguez.
It remains to be seen how she will approach the role made famous by Mexican actress Thalia and the beautiful Marian Rivera. But based on the video clip below, she still wants to inject her own brand of charm for the role so as not to be totally compared with her predecessors. She will definitely watch the original and the first local remake, but just so that she will get a good feel of what the role will fully require of her.

Best of luck in this new chapter in your career, Megan! :-D
