Fantasy or not, would you approve of the hair colors for our Binibinis?
I was told that the shots above are supposed to be for local hair conditioning brand Creamsilk. I have yet to confirm it myself, though. At any rate, do you like what you see? Or would you rather see the quartet in bouncy, wavy curly tresses than long, straight locks?
Post your replies. Thumb up or two thumbs down.

You must have already gotten eye fatigue with all the Miss World Philippines (and Mutya ng Pilipinas) postings of late. So for our Sunday Special, I am sharing photos of the latest personal appearance of our Bb. Pilipinas 2013 winners during the Money Matters for Kids (MMK) fair/exhibit conducted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) at Gateway.
Looking at the lovelies, are you seeing marked improvements? Or sadly unconvinced till now? Well, all five are in the middle of training and all so what you see are still unfinished results. Quality control continuously in check!

The Bb. Pilipinas 2013 winners, together with Miss Universe Philippines 2012 Janine Tugonon, made quite an appearance for JAG Jeans during the Yahoo! OMG Awards 2013 last weekend. Ara Arida, Bea Santiago, Cindy Miranda, Mutya Datul and Pia Wurtzbach came fully attired in the latest denim collection of the said brand and were literally scene-stealers as they took the attention away from most of the celebrities who attended the affair.
At any rate, this batch of beauties is getting lovelier and more polished by the day – which should be the case because they need to be hitting 100% readiness for their respective pageant assignments within the next month or three.

When Manhattan Gardens City – the prime real estate development of the Aranetas – held its Grand Opening last weekend, the event was made more special with the presence of all Bb. Pilipinas Gold winners (Ara, Bea, Cindy, Mutya and Pia) plus Shamcey Supsup and Venus Raj. And when the ladies were asked to line up and pose by the poolside, you can’t help but be amused by their individual poses.
People say that body language speaks a lot about the personality of an individual. If you had to use adjectives to describe the poses of the seven ladies above, what would the words be?
Zuhair Murad (photo left) is a Lebanese fashion designer who has gained much success globally with his haute couture and ready-to-wear (even eyewear) lines. With shops both in his native country and in Milan, Italy, the guy’s creations have been worn by celebrities (and royalties) like Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Ivana Trump and Princess Al-Taweel of Saudi Arabia . Pageant-wise, he lent his creative genius to the long gown worn by Miss France 2009 Chloé Mortaud who went on to place 6th during the Miss Universe finals held at Atlantis in the Bahamas. Watch his latest collection in the video below:

How I would love to see our Ara wear a divine Zuhair Murad piece like the one above!
Meanwhile, the style above should look well on Bea Santiago for Miss International, no?
Mutya will float like a goddess in Belarus with this!
And Cindy Miranda? She should be able to bring this number with a lot of oomph!
What do you say about this one for Pia Wurtzbach if she gets fielded abroad?

Since it’s the weekend, why don’t we take things light for a change? Unleash your inner wit or humor by captioning the photo frame above (contributed by Chrome) and let’s see who can come up with the best bubble script for our five Bb. Pilipinas Gold ladies. You can give a line or two for each one of them or simply focus on one or two who tickle your fancy.
Who needs a threadbare float with a larger than life floral golf umbrella like this?
A plaque of appreciation for Bea.
This is such a belated post about the homecoming of Bb. Pilipinas International 2013 Bea Santiago in her mother’s province of Masbate. Better late than never, though.
Last month, Bea was able to schedule a sort-of victory homecoming. While she has taken residence in Canada for so many years now, Cataingan in Masbate is still considered her local roots. After a thanksgiving mass and simple motorcade around Masbate City (considered simpler in scope, but perfectly understandable since the province is not used to having one of their own being crowned Bb. Pilipinas), she was brought direct to the specific town in target where another mass was held, plus a large social gathering in the gym where she was feted by the officials and spectators for bringing honor to the place.
Bea’s joy showed from start to finish as she deeply appreciated the shower of love and support that came her way. The cheers may not be maddeningly deafening, but the sincerity of it all made her realize even more that a real home is where her heart is.

During yesterday’s photo session of the Bb. Pilipinas Gold winners, Aces & Queens’ Jonas Gaffud was around to coach the ladies on how to properly pose and project themselves in front of the camera. It was a happy day for everyone at the studio, moreso for the beauty queen-maker who is always at his best elements when molding the national winners into international-worthy representatives for the Philippines. His track record can no longer be questioned. So let’s see how this year’s batch will fare in their respective pageant missions abroad.

Some of the designers (and their rep creations) for Philippine Fashion Week (Photo credit: Status Magazine)

Let’s play another round of fantasy dressing today. Since I took a lot of photo inspirations from the various collections presented during Philippine Fashion Week, I thought of making a collage of twelve among them.
If you had to assemble the wardrobe of our current beauty queens based on the design concept and aesthetics of the dozen designers shown in this post, who would you pick as the major collaborators for the evening gowns that Ara Arida, Bea Santiago, Cindy Miranda, Mutya Datul and Angelee delos Reyes will wear in their respective competitions here and abroad?
While these talents have not reached the world-class reputation of either a Michael Cinco or Monique Lhuillier yet, some of them have the potentials of shining bright in the next few years to come and possibly hit the international market if the opportunity rises.
If you don’t see the ones you like, then post your preferred designers below.
