Julian Aurine Flores is vying for Miss Manila 2014 (Photo credit: Edmund Chua for Fabmanilaph)
One of the ladies who easily stood out during the Press Presentation of the Official Candidates of Miss Manila 2014 at the Diamond Hotel last Monday is #7 Julian Aurine Flores. You will remember her as Binibini 1 during Bb. Pilipinas 2014 and one of my top favorites in the batch who made Top 15.
Being a true blue Manileña, Julian is one of a handful of Miss Manila 2014 contenders who truly grew up in the city and with a clear knowledge of how to promote its reinvigorated image to the public. She is bent on proving that she has what it takes to become a most engaging and effective ambassador for its colorful population, as well as the governing body headed by Mayor Joseph Estrada and Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno.

I am hoping that Julian does well in the contest because this is one beauty title she is a perfect fit for.
Best of luck, girl! :-)
You would think that, just because of their previous national pageant experiences, the quartet of Vina Openiano, Racquel Kabigting, Ednornance Agustin and Leonalyn dela Cruz will find Bodyshots Philippines 2014 an easy challenge. On the contrary, joining this annual model search will prove to be double the risks and demands on their part.
For one, fellow female competitors have already placed targets on their back. One unmissable misstep and the greenhorns can easily steal the thunder from right under their noses. And while their names and faces have already become so much more familiar, the expectations on their individual performances have gone up by several notches.
Of course, some would say that a model search is an entirely different ballgame compared to beauty contests. But in the end, both are tough competitions. In the latter, a crown and the chance to represent the country abroad are the rewards to work hard for. And in Bodyshots, the chance to start a high-earning career as a fashion model en route to hopefully getting the halo from the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines should be reasons enough to excel and get the ultimate prize.
Where will these four beautiful pageant-affiliated Filipinas find themselves in by the time the winners are announced late next month? Top or bottom? ;-)

Ever wondered how Bb. Pilipinas 2014 2nd Runner-Up Hannah Ruth Sison looked like before she stepped into the beauty pageant world and got all made up for all the glitz and glamour of Bb. Pilipinas? Well, the thumbnail pic on the left is the profile photo in an old minispace.com account and it wasn’t very easy digging up her close-up with long pigtail on. A far more innocent projection compared to her ravishing look (photo below) during the recently-conducted Bb. Pilipinas Santacruzan 2014, no? :-)
Bianca, Carla and Pia make up “22288”
The last time I personally spoke to Pia Wurtzbach, she kidded me about the above photo grid not seeing the light of day in this blog when she was putting a bet with Bianca Guidotti and Carla Lizardo on how soon I will blog about it. But silly me, I overlooked the same and it is only now that I was able to sit down and make something out of it.
For the uninitiated, “22288” is the name of the trio made up of Binibini 22 Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, Binibini 28 Carla Lizardo and Binibini 8 Pia Wurtzbach who developed a very sisterly kind of bond during Bb. Pilipinas 2014 and ended up discovering how much they click together as best of friends. So you must have gotten the meaning behind the five-digit name of their girl group by now.
If not for the busy-as-a-bee schedule of Bb. Pilipinas-International 2014 Bianca Guidotti, a laid-back interview with all three ladies should have already been conducted by now. At any rate, I asked for Pia’s commitment to have them together for an afternoon of coffee/tea and pastries plus some fun girl bonding. I hope that will happen anytime soon. ;-)
If you are a Pia Wurtzbach fan, then you should read her interview on PEP.ph
Above is just an excerpt from the interview made by Rommel Gonzales.
In case you missed it, here is the link to the relatively long interview made by PEP.ph’s Rommel Gonzales on Pia Wurtzbach and everything about her Bb. Pilipinas 2014 stint and plans for the future.

It should be the Santacruzan to beat all Santacruzans. With all the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens with Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzalez, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago and the Official Candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014, this is one beautiful procession that can make you feel proud of the gorgeous Filipinas we have in our midst.
We just do not run out of them. ;-)
Below are photos from the event courtesy of Edmund Chua. See all the images HERE.
MJ and Bianca will lead the Santacruzan together with Bb. Pilipinas Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzalez.
Head on over to Gateway Mall this afternoon to witness the All-Out Santacruzan organized by Araneta Center and BPCI. All the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens will be present to serve as the Reyna Elenas (together with this year’s candidates) in the procession that will immediately follow the Holy Mass that will be celebrated at 4:00PM.
Don’t miss it! :-)
Okay, dear readers, before you ask why Bb. Pilipinas Tourism 2014 Parul Shah is not posing with the ladies above, she has a previous commitment in the Visayas which she needed to attend to.
Anyways, our Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens have already started their training. In the gym first. And with that, the bonding among them has already began. No camps. No opposing handlers. Just one unified group in-charge of all of them.
And I like it better that way. ;-)
Miss Philippines Air 2014 Diane Carmela Querrer (Photo credit: Melvin Sia)
Diane Carmela Querrer was personally devastated when – due to actual on-the-spot height measurement – she was disqualified from Bb. Pilipinas 2014 less than 24 hours after the forty (40) Official Candidates (which originally included her) were announced. But whan can she do? There were strict rules to be followed and she got the axe as fast as she received a rose for inclusion.
From that point, she took stock of her remaining options. At 25, she had limited pageant routes to take. So from Bb. Pilipinas, she immediately moved to Miss Philippines Earth where she was received as an Official Candidate without issues about how tall she is. The jump from Aces & Queens to KF was also made.
And last night, she achieved the peak of her beauty contest-joining career when she did well in the final Q&A and sealed a Top 5 finish that even placed her so close to the big title by finishing Miss Philippines Air 2014 or 1st Runner-Up if we are to arrange the ranks based on the importance of honor.
Diane must be happy and relieved that she can finally put a sparkling finish to her quest for a crown. 2nd in a field of 49 is no mean achievement. And she is more than ready to serve as the country’s (clean) Air Ambassador for 2014. ;-)
An option for Mother's Day
First of all, let me greet the light of our lives Happy Mother’s Day!
If you haven’t made plans yet on where to bring your moms to make this a more special bonding day, you may want to consider going to Gateway Mall, treating her out to a hearty lunch with yummy desserts, coffee afterwards, then head over to the Activity Area at 3:00PM where the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Queens – together with TV5 personalities and Viva contract singer Princess – will perform for everyone.
And you may want to make the date sweeter by getting photo ops with the Queens, right? ;-)
