There are a few deserving ladies who didn’t make it during the final screening – Razzini Gomez, Ayalee Dasalla and the like – so I hope they get Maxine’s replacement from the ones who placed between 30th and 35th in the tally.

If these are indeed the new crowns, then some tweakings here and there may be in order. But I find them steps up from the the gigantic (and painful) ones worn by previous winners.

It’s nice, Norman. Much better than the “cheap-looking” and humongous present crowns our titleholders are wearing. Although in my opinion, the crown of BBP International should be different so that it can be distinguished better from the Miss Universe-Philippines crown. The latter is imitating and adapting the present design of the Miss Universe crown although its gems are of different color.

I have no illusions about her winning any of the crowns. The best placement she can get for now is being a runner-up. But she is still my sentimental favorite to win BBPU. There’s something about her not-so-assuming smile and aura. If ever she wins and get sent to Miss U, I bet she’d attract the same attention as Kim Edri (Miss Israel) in last year’s competition.

My gut feel is she’s going to do good even great come April 15. Not much hype about Munoz does have that dusky Pinay look that is a big hit abroad. That and her excellent academic resume. For sure she’s going to ace q&a.

Without a doubt the freshest and most captivating face in this year’s Bb crop. She is too raw though to grab a beauty title from the more seasoned pageant veterans. The Luzella Felipe of 2012. Nicole should rejoin Bb after a year or two.
