This week, she finally conquered the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week by opening for the Arts Hearts Fashion collection of Mister Triple X by Erik Rosete – a street wear line with an edge.
And inspite of the wig she wore and all, Janine remains a standout with her looks and presence.
P. S. You might be wondering why I pulled down the previous post about the hosts of Bb. Pilipinas 2015. Upon the advice of someone actually involved in the planning of the finals, I was sounded off that Luis Manzano and Isabelle Daza are no longer on the list. Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Venus Raj are still on it, along with Ariella Arida. As for the main hosts, just sit tight because you will definitely need to be rested once you learn who are actually being lined up for it. 😉

I’m so happy for Janine. Modeling is not easy work, especially for an Asian woman in LA/NY. She is really defying the odds and making a mark. Malakas talaga ang luob niya.
She is under hyped amongst fans, but her track record in pageantry and beyond is so impressive.
I hope the sky is the limit for her.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago lambasted resigned Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima during Thursday’s Senate inquiry for allegedly meddling in the Special Action Force (SAF) anti-terror operation despite his suspension.
Purisima had admitted meeting with President Benigno Aquino III on January 9, along with relieved SAF director Getulio Napeñas, for a mission update despite being preventively suspended by the Ombudsman over a graft case in December last year.
After the mission update, Purisima stayed behind to talk with Aquino. When he came out, he told Napeñas: “Huwag mo munang sabihan yung dalawa (PNP officer-in-charge Leonardo Espina and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas). Saka na, pag nandun na. Ako ang bahala kay [Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff] General [Gregorio] Catapang.”
Napeñas had followed Purisima’s “advice.” The lack of coordination between the PNP and the AFP has been blamed as one of the reasons behind the deaths of 44 elite police commandos following an encounter with Muslim rebels.
“In jurisprudence, you overstepped your limits… You performed the functions of your office, albeit in a surreptitious manner. And then you say that you did not violate the terms of your preventive suspension? You’re using words to confuse the people listening to you. Nakialam ka eh!” Santiago told Purisima.
“Don’t quibble with me! ‘I only advised, I did not order.’ Really? Buti sana kung wala akong doctorate o hindi ako nag-graduate sa UP. Eh malas natin, I did both… Biro mo, apatnapu’t apat na tao ang namatay at kasali ka doon. Kung hindi ka siguro nakisali doon, baka buhay pa sila,” she said.
She also insisted that the failed operation should not be blamed solely on Napeñas since there are still at least two persons above the level of the SAF director — the chief of the PNP and the commander-in-chief of the country.
“Lahat na lang ituturo niyo sa SAF commander. Forty-four men are dead and you’re all pointing fingers to the SAF commander. Common sense dictates — sentido kumon na lang ito eh — hindi naman siya ang pinakamataas. Eh sinong mataas sa kanya? Ang chief ng PNP, ikaw, pero preventively suspended ka. Tapos yung kapalit mo na acting, ayaw niyong sabihan, wala siyang kaalam-alam. Kaya sinong may alam? Si President Aquino at ikaw at saka si Napeñas,” the senator said.

Norman where are Janine’s basher’s? The most bashed MUP winner is now making it big abroad. God sure knows how to reward good people. Janine is even doing better than the actual Miss Universe winner Olivia Culpo. Wow! I can’t believed it has been almost four years since I saw the Pageant lived in Las Vegas.
When will we ever learn…Most Filipino pageant enthusiasts are all agog over the “mestiza/foreign-looks” without realizing that this kind of “Tugonon/Quiambao” look that almost made us snatch the crown long and the much hyped “mestiza” look that brought us farther away from the much-coveted crown. Good thing we have the poor, old Barraza to ventilate all our frustrations and anger.
