wpid-wp-1419089357906.jpeg The list of judges for the 63rd Miss Universe is slowly increasing in number and what a line-up it could be if we are to follow the celebrity wattage of Manny Pacquiao and now, Tyra Banks.

The fierce catwalk diva behind the uber successful America’s Next Top Model will most likely be looking for a modelesque delegate with the right attitude to werk it. While she will definitely be making adjustments in the assessment of the ladies, there’ll always be certain factors she’ll stick to no matter what.

So what say you, dear readers? Could Tyra’s inclusion be good or otherwise for MJ Lastimosa? 😉

  5. She’s not the nicest person from what I know among tv production crew members. Her demeanor is all for show. To convince her, MJ needs to do a dog and pony show. A big wow! She has always talked about the big difference between model and pageant catwalks. She and Manny will cancel each other’s votes.

    • What’s so bad about the honesty of this comment that it got 3 thumbsdowns? Anyway, Franco’s spot on. Tyra is hard to please. You’d have to look, talk, walk and think like her just to get on her good side. And by that i mean MJ has to be a crazy ass b*tch. Good luck indeed. Let us hope the scores she will give is too low they’d have to take it out before averaging.

  6. By the way off topic…. Sir Norman may nabasa po ako sa isang fan page na si Parul Shah kasali sa Miss Coffee International 2015? Oh my dear!

    Fashion Model based on (cat walk, the dress, cosmetics) while in a Beauty Pageant they focused on (physical beauty, intelligence, talent, answer’s to judges in q&a portion. Pinaka imporante sa lahat ei yung “personality” na hinahanap mapa-model ka or contestant.
    Oh well Tyra as a judge, nasa mundo ng fashion and modelling 50/50 ako sa magiging score niya kay MJ. Kaya nga dapat sa gown palang ni MJ “stand out” sa mga mata ni Tyra, majority sa atin ayaw natin yung mga evening gowns pinagsusuot ni Madame Stella. Dapat mga isip-isip sila ng game plan kasi kahit papaano parang nagbigay na ng tips mga MUO kung sino mga judges.

  7. Wala pa namang official announcement ang MUO, napapraning na kayo. Kung destiny ni MJ Lastimosa ang maiuwi ang korona ng MU, kahit sinong judge pa ilagay jan mananalo si MJ.

  8. I don’t think Tyra will tailor fit her judging preference based on her background but rather on the preferences of the Miss Universe Org. Like what Lea said before, the MUO orients them first and tells them what kind of a girl they want to get the crown. So it’s just pretty okay. MJ is a MU prototype and she’ll definitely rock and heat up Miami once she sets foot there. All the best MJ!

  9. I don’t think she’s going to be one of the judges. Tyra is connected with The CW network while Miss Universe is with NBC.

  10. What if Tyra will happen to be the one chosen to ask a question in Q & A for MJ? Would it be about fashion? What if it’s Manny? Would it be about sports?

    Well, I think, MJ should just be ready because my gut feel is that she’ll be one of the girls to be asked in the final Q & A. 🙂

  11. Hmmmm I think the inclusion of Tyra as a Judge is appropriate since the winner of Miss Universe will be a Model and product endorser of swim suits by Yamamay and gowns by Sherry Hill.

    • If that’s then i’d rather see Iman or Grace Jones judge the pageant. I doubt that yamamay and the kodrlling contract’s the reason why they included her in the roster. It’s all about, like @aj said, pulling the biggest names in the world today for marketing and ratings. I wouldnt be surprised if we see Ronaldo, Messi, and a whole bunch of other famous names in the coming days.

  13. On the other hand, Tyra actually liked Stephanie Retuya in AsNTM Cycle 1. ANTM is also moderately influenced with Filipino talent from contestants [Claire Unabia], to guest designers [Francis Libiran and Michael Cinco], to production members [Bryanboy and the other guy that I can’t recall the name]. These factors may or may not work in Mary Jean’s favor, though.

    • I think michael carandang is one of the producers of americas top model cycle 16 and 17 ata ha!!…tho knowing tyra banks she likes tall and skinny girls…ung mga tipong venus raj and miss india type…#just my opinion

    MJ can/will bring the diva tyra looks for. Hindi naman papatalo si Queen MJ kung rampahan rin lang naman. May mas matatangkad ngang kalaban pero nakukuha sa attitude yan.

    • Mga santolan po yan, basta pinupuri mo ang filipina queen or maganda sinabi mo sa filipinas asahan mo na yan marami taga santolan nagaabang ng balita mga inggetera talaga sila!

      • Are you even a little bit serious about this stupid opinion of yours? I dont think Pacquiao is that dumb to favor candidates who look like boxers just because he is one himself. The guy is fair and just whereas Banks is volatile, eccentric and all over the place. Everyone has his/her own opinion of beauty, but Tyra? Boy she is her own basis and we have 22 cycle of antm and several tyra banks show seasons to prove it.

  16. keri lang…hindi namn natin pwedeng pangunahan na di na pwede si MJ just because high fashion hinahanap ni Tyra. I’m sure alam nya nasa beauty pageant sya at hindi competition ng mga skinny, edgy, mowdel types. I’m sure she’s going to give high marks on someone na mag sha-shine sa mismong night na yun. Last card na natin to. I think matagal na nag pre-prepare si MJ sana BPCI and yung handlers nya gawin na lang lahat ng pwedeng gawin to make sure walang mairereklamo sa performance and presentation nya ng sarili nya. Sana hindi nila pabayaan si MJ sa ere by providing her ukay ukay clothes. Lam ko too much to hope pero sana bonggahan na nila ng todo for MJ.

    • i agree with this! she tends to commend and give high remarks on african/african american backgrounds…so lets expect quite a number of people in the top 5 with women came from the same background as she is (case in point: her shows watch it)

  19. Tyra is the queen of contradiction. Seriously, she criticizes models who walk talk and act all “pageantry” and now she’s going to judge Miss Universe? This edition is heading down hill. Fast.

    • I couldn’t agree more. MUO is obviously threatened by d recent resurgence of interest in & popularity of MW. Now they have to resort to getting big names to generate buzz for their 2014 errr 63rd edition. I can sense desperation with capital D!

      Anyway, this is d only MU edition that i’m not really excited about. I have d feeling that MUO will crown d candidate who may not necessarily be d most deserving but d most strategic choice business wise. I’m afraid MUO is now more than ever a business-oriented company more than d beauty pageant that we used to know & respect.

      • Add to the fact that Miss World has now Rolene Strauss for a face. Baka ibenta na ni DT and MUO to some groups in Dubai or Qatari.

      • And if they are wise enough to see what happened to MW after Megan won, it can be argued that MUO may find a candidate from the Philippines to be an excellent investment for the long term popularity of MU.

    • I once watched her show -Tyra show, not antm. She did an interview with a Miss USA winner I think. I think she asked then the pageant walk and runway walk are the same or if there was a difference. So there, if she remembers that then maybe she has knowledge on what to expect and how to choose.

    She’s into high fashion, edgy, natural, tall, exotic and weird (in a good way) looking girls.

    Unfortunately, MJ is the opposite of that. Her look is very pageant patty… And those disgusting pageant veneers… Oh my god. *puke*

    If it was Venus, Ara, Janine or even Shamcey, it’d be different.

With the new “Branding” & “Sloganeering” (Beauty, Confidence, Elegance, Passion & Communty) of Miss Universe Organization, Tyra Banks’ role with be “to look out” for ladies who exude Confidence, Elegance & Passion). Tyra’s inclusion will definitely give credibility to the judges’ choice of the Finalists — whoever they may be.
