Cassy, Parul and Mercegrace: ready to stamp their class in the competition? (Photo credit: Jory Rivera/OPMB Worldwide)
Cassandra Naidas is from Aces & Queens. Parul Shah is from Kagandahang Flores. Mercegrace Raquel is from Team JDV. Together, this trio of very promising candidates represent an appetizing sample of the best in each of the major beauty camps in the Philippines.
Mixed-race beauties are no longer uncommon in Bb. Pilipinas. In fact, there has always been at least one or two in every batch since the 1960s. And with 50 participants this year, their number is at an all-time high. Half-Korean Cassy and half-Indian Parul are just two examples. And while they may not be first or second on anybody’s list at the moment, I’m certain that they will zoom to Team A very soon. There’s really something special in each of them.
On the other hand, pure Pinay Mercegrace (or MG for the rest) is shaping up to become trainer John dela Vega’s best bet for a crown this year. She has a lot of positive things going for her bid – the right look, the desirable height, the good academic background and better than average communication skills all in one package. Will she find the opportune moment to go full blast and prove to all and sundry that she is a force to reckon with?
Who will be the most fortunate among them? We’ll soon find out. Finals night is scheduled less than a month from now.
I find Mercegrace style made her less attractive, this made her look Jinky Oda. I hope she will never look like this on the eventful day. Same with Parul, I wonder how she could’ve borrowed that mouth from Wilma Doesnt?

Hi Norman! I hope you can place interview videos for the three ladies on your page as well. Checking your page is a daily habit. Thanks Norman.
I’m hoping as well. Ambush interviews are not the easiest to accomplish given that they can only allocate a few minutes (even less) of ‘spotlight’ time during pre-pageant activities.
These three — Cassy, Parul and Mercegrace — are the perfect darkhorses of this year’s batch. What a great pic to have this outstanding triad standing next to each other! I predict that all three will advance as semifinalists and that at least one of them will have a top 5 finish come coronation night.
Was quite happy that a shot was made of these 3 girls standing next to each other.
Norman — I’ve read somewhere that Parul is around 5’8″ – 5’9″. But judging from the photo above she appears significantly shorter than Mercegrace who at 5’9″ appears to be about the right height relative to Cassy’s height of 5’10″. Here’s hoping that BBP would release the candidates’ official stats this year.
I have a feeling BPCI won’t be releasing the height numbers just yet. Best bet, perhaps, would be the souvenir program during finals night.
