Okay, so here’s one of the ladies you’ve been waiting for – Anna Fernandina Buquid. While the video may be short (not to mention the replies of Anna which are just as direct-to-the-point), I’m sure you’ll get a pretty good idea of how she expresses herself, the tone of her voice and the overall aura while in speech. Let’s watch.

  1. Well at least she can express herself in English without getting epistaxis or internal hemorrhage.
This girl from Buquidnon is the girl to beat.
    Give her the crown, karakaraka.

  2. Beautiful physically. Personality is lacking perhaps due to the pressure. Her responses are forgetable as if you want to say, next please!! Needs to be more engaging. But she is beautiful.

  3. The positives: she looks great on the screen & she makes sense.

However, after seeing Bea Santiago’s interview, I find Anna’s “performance” here lacking.

For the most part, Anna sounded unconvinced of her own responses, there seems to be a lack of sincerity, conviction, and personality. Sounded like she was trying to impress everyone with her answers, so for me, kind of pilit how it came out.

But, I’m glad that this piece of video will not be part of any official judging, which means she can still iron out the kinks in time for the finals night, where it counts the most.

She’s still in my top 5, by the way :)

  4. What I’m more concerned about is the hesitation and the lack of an identity- in the course of her answers, she shifts through various personas; pageanty one moment, casual to the next. That’s trouble especially when she is one of a rare few who are expected to take home one of the crowns. Case in point is Shamcey who admittedly, was never in a pageant prior to Binibini and yet the identity and the consistency were there when she spoke and presented herself.

    • lols. obvious na pinatatamaan mo si Elima – wala sa grammar yan bakla, nasa content. I love both girls and I think they did okay at kailangan lang ng konting improvement…ang comment mo halatang may pasaring. anyways, ikaw na yan so dedma na…

  5. Thanks Norman for the video. You could feel that she hesitates with her answers, being too careful not to make a mistake. Nontheless, her answers make sense and direct. I couldn’t connect with her….

  6. People make mistakes and I am glad it happened during some random interview. I do not want to polarized on the technicality of their answers, because there were grammatical errors left and right ( big picture + no judge). I personally feel that none of them aced the interview however I have a few pointers as a suggestion: watch videos of every conversation or interview; try to speak with a natural accent in English( it’s unnecessary to speak with an American accent if the content is lack luster); and learn appropriate camera angle. They have 4 weeks to go and I am wishing Charmaine, Pia and Anna all the best!

  7. among the 3 gilrs featured here, ms Elima still the best one when it comes to intrerview, she got a lot of class, poise and charm, and of course quite sound answer……Love love love BPCI

  8. I don’t get it. Why can this girls speak in our native language/dialect which I’m sure they’re more comfortable expressing themselves. Almost all of them sounds rehearsed, memorized and stiff. Be proud of our language. Pilipino tayo.

    • because we are not the world! english is the lingua franca and it shows consideration to the rest of the world to try to speak english. especially since we can. the philippines is one of the top 5 countries in terms of population where english is spoken widely.
she sounds fine by the way.

  9. stiff and nervous. While watching the vid, I felt like I was watching her wire-walking that I felt so relieved after she uttered the last word.

  10. shes very lovely…very short answers and sounds memorized .. i agree stiff….i dont think it is good enough come q and a time at finals….theres still time

    • I agree with you. She’s very pretty in this video but she lacks the “wit” -masyadong seryoso… may parang nakaka-off kasi sabi nga nung nasa taas parang nagpapa impress…
