I know that a few more ladies in the batch are named Anna, but I am reserving this song for 5’11 3/4″ Ms. Buquid. She is simply one of the more unique contenders in this year’s competition. If a high premium is to be placed on height, then she should be first in line. And if that’s not enough, her Pacific Islander looks should add up to a strong possibility of taking her beauty pageant cause all the way to the top (or near-the-top) of the heap. 
I must admit that it hit me when Anna Buquid wasn’t called in for the last spot of the Top15.I mean she started really very strong early on, and so I thought she’s gonna be it.What do you think could’ve gone wrong,Norms?☺
Nick, it’s possible that Anna did not shine well among the judges (despite being so tall) and was easily outscored by the shorter camdidates.
Too bad there’ll be no more Giraffe walk to look forward to this year.I just hope that her non-success doesn’t dampen her spirit that bad,yet re-evaluates everything that went on with her in this experience and joins again next year.Better yet,maybe she should get herself a handler because it seems to be the secret of the trade.Anyhow,this has been a great blog journey with you on the 50th edition—wonderful with a whirlwind rush as well, and so thanks very much,Norms!Keep blogging!☺
Yeah, one more year and she will rack a heckalot of weapons in her arsenal for Miss U 2014. And then there is also Respicio, Naidas and some other gorgeous eves who are18-22yo. Philippines Miss Universe 2013 2014 2015 and 2016 or Philippines Miss World 2013 2014 2015 and 2016 Oh Mylanta !!!!

About Venus, I know that she took part in Miss Philippines Earth (she placed as runner-up) before joining BBP. I’m not aware of any Binibini edition where she was rejected during selection.
I f**king love this girl!! But I hope she does not win anything this year and reigns supreme next year. It’s just charmaine’s year for ms u. I’d hate for this goddess to be wasted on a minor tittle!
Venus: I agree. It would really be terrible if she won that dreaded Tourism title that would preclude her from ever competing in BBP ever again. I have high hopes that Anna will one day be the Philippines’ representative to Miss Universe.
Anna Buquid…… The GISELLE BUNDCHEN OF THE PHILIPPINES!!!….. Oozes with modelesque appeal, a chameleon, one of the very few IT GIRLS whom I strongly feel that come April 14 will leave us in Ooohhhs and Aaahhhss that would award her one of the major titles….. I’ll wait for how she handles “beauty under pressure” interview and after I assessing the bup interview then that will seal her placement as a titlist, a runner up or the least a semi finalist and or a special awardee from the major sponsors…… What ya think scintillating Basil???
Per Norman, her look is an epitome of a Pacific Islander. She looks different in every picture. She knows her angle and I just love her unpredictability. I am looking forward for her to capture the crown ( because she’s pretty major:-). Plus, she definitely have a lot of unique features that will elevate her in the competition. Like what I mentioned on an earlier comment about Pia and Charmaine… Communication skills is optimal to win and that’s one thing I have yet to hear from Anna. So hopefully “she can talk the talk and walk the walk”.

Norman — I love this girl! But if I were to give a brutally honest yet constructive criticism, she needs to consider 1) veneers for her teeth, and 2) amplify her cleavage in some way. If she can resolve these two issues she would be a formidable contender for Miss Universe.
