The Philippines’ three most popular beauty camps wish you Happy Valentine’s Day! (Photo credit: OPMB Worldwide)
Before anything else, let me greet everyone ‘Happy Valentine’s Day!’ and may you celebrate the beauty and wonder of love in all its shapes and sizes.
Ok, back to Bb. Pilipinas 2013, the running Battle of the Beauty Camps has already switched to high gear going into the final day of screenings at the Gateway Suites. And I bet BPCI’s evaluating committee is being pressured to high heavens with the topnotch quality of applicants for its 50th Anniversary.
But haven’t you noticed the missing individuals in the three separate photos of Aces & Queens, Kagandahang Flores and Team JDV above? It’s quite obvious that their best bets have not been included in the group shots. You see no Pia or Ara or Charmaine or Parul or Mercegrace or Valiry! It’s like these six girls are being protected from over-exposure or they simply missed the photo op.
Anyways, Madame Stella Marquez de Araneta must be smiling from ear to ear with the entries of the three groups. Just imagine getting already polished candidates needing only the minimum of training for pre-pageant purposes. The best thing is that their individual improvements will be upgraded even more as the Official Candidates are immersed into the more demanding routine and environment of the country’s premier national pageant. And that is where the girls will be separated from the women, and the potential winners will shine on top of mere wannabes.
Oooohh! I’m so loving this! I can’t wait to see who will finally make up the 2013 batch!
Norman, Who is that tall girl in white (7th from right, Flores group)? She looks like she should be in the 5’10″ category judging by the other’s relative heights.
Theresa Fenger is the Bomb!
She’s in it to win it!
Norman — Yes, you’re right. It would’ve been great to see all the key candidates (Elima, Pia, Arida, Buquid, etc.) included in any one of the three photo line-ups above. I guess we’ll all have to wait a little while longer for a complete group photo when the official candidates are finally announced. This year’s batch is amazing.
There are so many beautiful women this time around my head is spinning. Just when I think I have a favorite or two, some other beauty comes along and makes me re-do my “list”. I’ve stopped with my “list” and will wait until I can better judge when the girls/women speak and articulate. Then there’s their delivery of themselves and how polished they will be on the international stage. In the interim, I’m just going to sit back and watch the fur fly. Once the dust settles, then I can have a better opinion of front runners and wanna bes. What a year! What choices! Surely with all these stunners, there is an international beauty crown or two or three for The Philippines this upcoming pageant season. Let’s hope and pray our “almost won” status will now be “international queens” these girls/women rightly deserve to be.
You are not alone, Philip. I myself am lost in editing most of the time. The ladies keep on surprising me one after the other.
Has there ever been a year you can think of when there has been such a huge selection of quality candidates? There have been years when there was a nice selection and toss ups between a few candidates, but has there ever been a year like this where there have been so many outstanding candidates all gathered in one place at one time?
None, Philip. The 50th Year of Binibini is literally bringing out the best girls from hiding.
i like your blog…. entertaining and informative.
Thank you, Teddy!
Im with you Philip, so stressful to pick your fav(it’s a good thing)
what’s going on with our filipina, almost or atleast most of them are qualified in the international stage, i wish our representative queens will bring home the most prestigious crowns, and i do believe our ladies are capable of doing it so…goodluck queens in advance
