Will Diana Arevalo give Bb. Pilipinas 2013 one last try?
2009 marked Diana Arevalo’s first attempt at a Bb. Pilipinas crown. She was 20 then. And she was justly rewarded with a Top 10 placement. Bianca Manalo came out on top.
2011 saw her return to the Bb. Pilipinas stage. For a second-timer at age 22, it would have been a triumphant re-appearance. Alas, her best was just good enough for a Top 15 nod. Shamcey Supsup upended her bid.
2013. Will she make that one final go for a (twice-foiled) victory in the pageant? Turning 24 this year is one clear sign that this will be her Binibini curtain call if ever. Because two years from now, her age will have already reached the set limit.
The stakes are higher. The risks are bigger. And the rewards are greater, if successfully accomplished.
Is Diana Arevalo up to the extremely big challenge?

The year of the snake is for Diana Arevalo. She has the venomenous smile that I am looking for. Height doesn’t matter…. just like in the case of Prrecious Lara (Miss International 2005 and Olivia Culpo (Miss Universe 2012). Tulad ni Shamcey, mas maganda pa siya sa mga Latinas!
I would definitely love to see my 2011 sentimental favorite Diana again in BBP this year. She could pull off a Maricar Balagtas. She has all the goods (face, communication skills, experience), but needs to lose those unwanted pounds now!
Actually ,2009 was the most perfect year for Diana. I believe she would have made it as the lone Asian in semis of MU in Bahamas with her exotic looks and charm.

Maricar Balagtas, Mike. 1st time was 2000, next was 2001 and then in 2004 when she finally won BPU.

I think she is still with A&Q. Diana is 5’8″. She speaks in English fairly well.

Lady Boy, when it comes to height measurements, beauty pageants (Bb. Pilipinas included) often report varying numbers. The 5’6 1/4″ was based on her first appearance in Binibini back in 2009 so I used it once more for 2011. With all the talks about her joining again (or MWP for that matter), her height is surfacing now as 5’8″. With the ultra-high heels candidates wear nowadays, it can be hard to tell at times.
She has nothing to lose by competing a third time and this year will probably be her last best opportunity. So why not and go out with a bang by being a part of BBP’s grand 50th celebration and give the performance of her life once more on the pageant stage — win or lose — as tribute to her legions of fans. I hope she has a ball of a time. And another thing about Diana is that she looks better now than she ever has. She appears to continue to improve herself. A definite Yes!
